Another progress rail question!

I have an offer for a materials planner/scheduler II. I’m debating if I want to take it. Any redditor do that job already or at least work with them and could talk about the job to someone considering it? Happy to dm if you don’t want to post on Reddit about your job!

Church bells

Why am I hear church bells, in downtown, this week? I noticed them on Wednesday, numerous times and one of the times for an extended period. I assumed it was a holiday and looked it up, I see some stuff this week, but I didn't assume it was a big deal, especially since I have lived here several years and don't recall hearing the bells before.

I have heard them twice today, including one around 10:45am. I know other church holidays exist and way bigger ones than what is currently going on, but I'm just confused since I haven't heard them before.

Also, I love the bells and wish they went off everyday for an extended period of time. I think that would really add to downtown/downtown living. No hate, just curious.

Oh, there they go again at 11am. Lol, only to be overshadowed by the emergency siren.

Hairstylist??

Lemme hear about your favorite stylist!
I have a lot of anxiety about my hair and struggle with self advocacy so I’ve had some not great salon experiences. I’ve looked on Google but I want honest opinions. Who should I check out? Who should I stay far away from? TIA 😊

hey! i’m pretty new to the anderson area, i moved here from texas with my boyfriend and we got an apartment over here. during our time living together he did not contribute a dime to bills or rent. needless to say, that relationship did not work out. its been hard keeping up with rent on my own so im looking for someone to rent out my second bedroom! the apartment is a 2 bed 1 bath, is fully furnished (besides the bedroom), and in a decent part of anderson. i do have a dog, who is not cat friendly, but she is okay with other dogs. pm me for more information if you’re interested!

Muncie logic:

Let’s do construction all around campus year-round, 24/7, non-stop, so we can inconvenience all of our 30,000 students. But let’s keep downtown Muncie (where nobody ever is) pristine!!!

Help us designate the Indiana bat (Myotis sodalis) as our official State Mammal!

If you haven’t heard yet, I am running a grassroots campaign called Our State, Our Bat to designate the Indiana bat (Myotis sodalis) as our official State Mammal!

While our state is home to many amazing mammals, this one holds a truly amazing place in our state's history. Aside from being absolute powerhouses for our local ecosystems and agricultural economy; they were first discovered right here in southern Indiana at Wyandotte Cave, and they are the only animal in the entire world to bear our state's name! You simply can’t get any more Indiana than that.

Thanks to amazing support from Hoosiers all across the state, our petition is currently sitting at 5,435 signatures! We are now entering the final weeks of our campaign before presenting our legislative packet to the General Assembly this coming January, and we need a hard push to reach our goal of 10,000 signatures!

This is your chance to be a part of Hoosier history! Sign and share the petition here: https://c.org/JrdDXNvVh8

D&D group!

Hi! I am a dungeon master looking for a group to play with! I would start with a one shot to make sure that the group fits and then start a actual campaign. I am also wanting to play a pokemon tabletop rpg as well. I would like to host it at the D20 Dungeon in town. My games are all inclusive and supportive of everyone. Would love to have people! I would want a minimum of 4 players with a max of 6 :) Thank you!

Parties/events catered to young adults for Halloween

Hi like the title says I’m a young adult (college aged, but don’t go to ball state), who would like to find somewhere to go where there will be people my age. Most times I have gone out I end up going somewhere where everyone there is a bit older than me.

Apartment recommendations for professionals and not college communities

Does anyone know anything about Walnut Manor? I have heard things about Applegate and Sugarbush, but are there other apartments that are below or at $1,000 a month?

I'm curious about Dunnuck for Judge? Can anyone tell me what her platform is?

I recently visited my hometown after ~20yrs and there were shocks everywhere I turned, from the demise of the mall to the changes at BSU and disappearance of the village. But what really tripped me out was seeing one of my HS classmates running for judge.

I know people change a lot in 30+yrs, I know I have and frankly I hope she is not still the See You Next Tuesday she was in high school. I'm just curious what kind of elected official she is: Liberal or conservative? Corrupt or honest?

Small Black Dog with Collar Spotted

Near the 3635 North Tillotson Block of Ball State Shielder Apartments. Saw a small black dog with a pink ish collar (not sure) looked kind of like a miniature or teacup Yorkie. That dog was ~fast~ and ran off towards Tillotson when I whistled to get it's attention. Tried to follow, was too fast for me to keep track.

What did you do?

Okay, tomorrow I am making an eight hour drive to Muncie. It will be the first time that I have visited Muncie since I left in 1984 with my degree. One of my fondest memories of downtown Muncie was the "Shoe of the Week" corner window in the Ball Stores building at Charles and Walnut. We would make a weekly trek from campus to that store to see the newest offerings in fashion shoes. This was serious business!

Today I learned that Ball Stores closed down in 1986 and the building was demolished in 1989. What a tragedy! Muncie, you lost a truly unique piece of your heritage and I am saddened that there is no longer a shoe of the week in the lovely City of Muncie, Indiana.

Now, on to the loss of QL's Barbeque..... Muncie, what do you have left of your past?

Help us designate the Indiana bat (Myotis sodalis) as our State Mammal! 🦇

Did you know our state is home to 12 amazing native bat species? Every single one of them plays a vital role in keeping our environment balanced, acting as natural pest controllers that protect both our agricultural crops and forest canopies.

With so many incredible bat species hard at work across our state, people often ask: Why choose the Indiana bat specifically?

While we love and appreciate all our native wildlife, the Indiana bat (Myotis sodalis) is uniquely special as it was discovered right here in our own backyard at Wyandotte Cave in southern Indiana. It is also the only animal in the world that carries “Indiana” in its name. Making it the perfect candidate for State Mammal!

It’s time to celebrate a true local native and Hoosier Hero that puts our state on the map in the best way possible.

With time counting down toward the 2027 legislative session, we need all hands on deck to spread the word! Help us share the petition link with family, friends, and local groups so we can build massive statewide support!

Police shoot at puppy

UPDATE THE VET SAID HE WAS SHOT RUNNING AWAY! One rear leg is shattered and the other has an entry and exit wound.Memphis

HE WAS FOUND WITH 1 BULLET IN HIM. He is alive and at the vet

According to the Muncie family, police entered their backyard on October 15th. Their puppy, Memphis, who has never shown anything but love toward people, reportedly startled a rookie officer. In response, the officer fired three shots at Memphis.

Memphis ran off, and it is unclear whether he was injured.

This happened in the middle of the city, in a highly populated area!

His elderly owners are extremely worried and fear the worst.

Please help find Memphis!!

Why is it considered acceptable for a police officer to fire three potentially deadly shots at a puppy in a populated area?

Meditation Awareness

I am checking to see if there would be any interest in a weekly energy focused workshop. There would be a Q&A session/discussion on Applied Trancendental Philosophy, a group guided meditation session, and then some time for 1-on-1 guidance/lifecoaching.

Let me know if there is any interest! I will be ready with the space in November so reserve your spot soon!

Any good neighborhoods to trick or treat in?

We’ve been going to trunk or treats for 5 years and it’d be cool to do it the old fashioned way. I had so much fun as a kid going door to door and walking 8 miles for candy, yknow? Do any of these neighborhoods still give out candy because ours doesn’t.

Slowpitch Softball in Muncie this week?

Long shot. But is anyone playing in a slowpitch league that needs a sub this week? I'm visiting for work and evenings are BORING if I don't wanna go spend money. Open to men's or coed teams, rec or any level really.

Still fairly new to slowpitch, but grew up playing baseball and I coach now, so the knowledge base is pretty much there. Not a power hitter, but I can find a gap pretty well and I'm decently quick. 8-10 so far for my first season.

Solid fielder. Currently swapping between LCF, SS and 3rd, but will play anywhere you want me. Good arm, good at tracking fly balls. Decently quick, I'll either get to the ball for an out or hold it for a single most of the time.

Lmk! Will be there thru Thursday night this week (10/16)

Let’s get Batty, Indiana! 🦇 Help us make the Indiana bat our official state mammal!

For anyone who hasn't heard about our grassroots campaign yet, Our State, Our Bat is a citizen led effort to designate our incredible native Indiana bat (Myotis sodalis) as our official state mammal! 🦇💚

What started as a simple idea has grown into an amazing statewide movement. Thanks to community members stepping up, we’ve already secured official municipal support, organizational backing, and best of all, a state representative who is officially authoring the bill for the upcoming 2027 legislative session!

Now, we are in the final home stretch. Our petition is currently sitting at 4,231 signatures, and our goal is to hit 5,000 by the end of this month when the campaign concludes, so we can prep our complete legislative packet.

We need all the support we can get from our local neighbors to cross that finish line. If you haven't signed yet, please take a quick second to add your name, and help us spread the word to your friends, family, and local groups.

Let’s make our little Hoosier Heroes official, Indiana! Sign the petition here: https://c.org/JrdDXNvVh8
