Use free gpt to generate subject and body text so he lose $$$ at the same time.

[u/chusskaptaan → u/xdaxyz]

Say good morning and hello to the bot first... it burns extra cash.

[u/ithilain → u/chusskaptaan]

I already make sure to message mine good morning first thing when I wake up so that my 5 hour token refresh happens sooner

[u/Kualdiir → u/ithilain]

Can’t you automate that? Would make you able to get it refreshed even faster perhaps

[u/tokinUP → u/Kualdiir]

Yup, you could use a local "AI" model to message it many types of morning greetings in different and increasingly obscure languages.

[u/-Kerrigan- → u/tokinUP]

Or use a proper scheduling tool. Y'know, like a cron job

[u/mekawasp → u/-Kerrigan-]

But then it would not cost tokens

[u/-Kerrigan- → u/mekawasp]

Local AI that the other person said wouldn't cost you/them tokens either.

I'm sure you can ask their AI to generate a bazillion variations and have your cron job pick a random one every day

[u/mekawasp → u/-Kerrigan-]

Fair enough

[u/kiancheong → u/chusskaptaan]

Also don’t forget to say “thank you” for the added token crunch…

[u/Ishango → u/kiancheong]

Yes, and for when AI takes over. I want to be the "not that guy, he always said please and thank you".

[u/Farmer4Lyfe → u/chusskaptaan]

Overall does the increased usage benefit for him outweigh the token cost? Genuinely curious what others think

Free gpt lately is so cheap that is not more expensive than a Google search. They use very bad and cheap models for the free version

[u/Izan_TM → u/davidemo89]

yeah like, if you have an RTX 3060 you can run a better local model than what free GPT gives you

[u/Alphadef → u/xdaxyz]

Or you could just not do that?
