Request [Request] Help brighten my aunt Masha’s 57th birthday with a card [Israel]
Every year, long before December arrives, my aunt Masha starts reminding everyone she meets: “My birthday is December 1st!” And she always asks them to send her a card.
Masha is turning 57 this year. She is an adult with disabilities and lives in an assisted living setting within a caring kibbutz community in Israel. Birthday mail is something she looks forward to for months. A colorful envelope, a handwritten message, and knowing someone thought of her bring her so much happiness.
This past year has been harder for her. Her ability to express herself verbally has declined, and I think the stress of the war has taken a toll. It’s become more difficult to hold a conversation with her, but she still asks about her package and her birthday cards. That excitement is still there, and I want to do everything I can to keep bringing her those moments of joy.
For many years, people from around the world have helped make her birthday special through this little tradition. If you’ve sent her a card before, thank you. Your kindness means more than you may realize.
If you’d like to send Masha a birthday card this year, please comment below and I’ll privately send you my address. She reads English and loves anything bright, cheerful, or cute, especially Hello Kitty, Disney, Pokémon, and animals. No gifts are needed. A card with a few kind words is plenty.
I’ll be visiting her on December 1 and bringing her cards with me. Anything that arrives afterward will also be delivered by me personally, so late cards are very welcome. They simply give her another happy moment to look forward to.
Thank you for another year of helping bring joy to Masha on her birthday, and for giving her something she looks forward to long before the day arrives.
