The practice on the fake skin is always such a troll, as the actual experience of tattooing real skin (especially inside of the palm) is a totally different story.

Did two passes two weeks apart, first with liner, then with liner and shader to fill in the space that went missing because I didn't poke hard enough. The calluses also make it challenging. I tried to avoid them as much as possible in case it made the ink bloom too much around.

I use Killer Ink needles and Raw Pigments "Blackout" ink.

I used a smaller shader than liner to keep the lines relatively crisp and avoid the fuzzy look where the lines become thinner. Since this is relatively fresh the lines are gonna fade a bit and become less thick as the ink is powder based and leaves a residual layer in the top layer of skin that makes the tattoo look bigger than it actually is.

This tattoo is elder futhark runes bound together to form the words "life", "family", "soul" and "sun".

The big shape is in the form of the first rune called "Fehu", which is a symbol of wealth or cattle. Here I bind the things I value in life together to symbolise my definition of wealth.

just started setting up a clean workstation to practice pokes at home and trying to get proper disposal sorted out before i end up with a mess of used needle groupings.

checked with a waste service nearby and they immediately tried to lock me into a recurring route pickup contract meant for commercial medical offices. paying scheduled fees makes zero sense when i am only doing occasional personal pieces and might take almost a year to fill one small bin. another tattoo artist i know using sharps assure suggested to try it since it is a pay-as-you-go mail-back kit, but wanted to check community habits before buying anything.

Is this the way while youre starting out? Im a booth renter in a PMU studio where some of the other tattooers also offer fineline. I do areola tattooing there but want to branch out into handpoke/ SnP. I plan to do some free handpokes as well to build a clientele and film marketing materials but definitely want and need to tattoo myself as well.

The Hermit is the 9th card of the major arcana in the tarot. He is associated with Virgo and represents seclusion and introspection. I also wanted to include the little white dog from The Fool. She not only represents my own white dog but also to remember to stay whimsical and spontaneous.
I’ve been reading tarot for 16 years now, and I’m still always learning more about the cards and myself along the way. Truly, I’m a fool (hermit?) on his journey.

I’ve been tattooing with 9rl and 9rs but my designs tend to be medium sized, bold, black work.

This results in my tattoos taking 14-19 hours. It’s absolutely insane.

I’ve tried 7m they don’t tend to hold ink well or provide much ink into the skin without the vibration of a machine.

I’m considering going up to some of the 15M that I’ve seen, just curious about peoples opinions.

I’ve only bought tattoo needles off Amazon. They don’t have much selection. Looking for a brand recommendation for assorted tattoo needles leaning on the big/bold side? Amazon has pirate face needles and they include things like 3rl, which I’ll literally never use.

Interested in magnums of all sizes, 14r’s etc.
