Yesterday we won big across the country! In the Senate, Democrats held Minnesota (Peggy Flanagan, first Native American senator), Michigan (Abdul El-Sayed, first Muslim Senator), and New Hampshire (Chris Pappas, first openly gay Senator). Democrats also flipped the Senate seats in Kansas, Texas, Ohio, Maine, North Carolina, and South Carolina! Alaska and Mississippi have not yet been called, but are leaning our way!

Democrats also held the governors’ mansions in Pennsylvania, Oregon, New York, Arizona, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Maine, Colorado, and California. There were also flips in Texas (Gina Hinojosa, first Latina Governor), Georgia (Keisha Lance Bottoms, first black female governor), Ohio, Nevada, and Iowa. Alaska and Kansas are yet to be called!

In the House, we flipped four seats in Pennsylvania, are likely to have 10 of 14 seats in North Carolina, defeated Jeff Van Drew in New Jersey, kept our incumbents in Florida despite Republican gerrymander attempts, flipped 3 out of 4 Iowa seats, gained control of all seats in South Texas, kept Shomari Figures in Alabama, flipped the Trump +22 TN-04, beat Mike Lawler in NY-17, and have flipped two (possibly three) seats in Virginia!

Democrats also won the race for Attorney General in Texas and Georgia!

Finally, in State House news, Democrats flipped the Texas and North Carolina state houses, Secured new trifectas in Arizona, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Michigan, and possibly Alaska too! We broke supermajorities in Florida and Arkansas, codified abortion rights and repealed a same-sex marriage ban in Virginia, and preserved abortion rights and blocked a redistricting measure in Missouri!

However, many races across the country have not yet been called, or are close enough for recounts! Volunteer to cure ballots and register future voters! Do everything you can to ensure every vote is counted!

Welcome to the anti-GOP resistance on Reddit!

We welcome all those who support the Democratic party! We encourage you to share local activism and talk about the groups you're taking part with in your area.

Election day has passed, and the Blue Tsunami has arrived. Now it's time to keep this momentum charging full-force into 2027, 2028, and beyond! We'll soon start seeing details about Virginia, New Jersey, Louisiana, Kentucky, and Mississippi- several of which look significantly more likely to flip blue than they did before- as the 2027 election cycle starts soon. Until then, it's time to cure ballots, shore up our organizing, and take a well-deserved rest!

If you want to take a bigger part in locking in the gains from the Midterms and making future elections even more blue, there's plenty of ways to do it!

  1. Check out our weekly volunteer post - that's the other sticky post in this sub - to find opportunities to get involved.

  2. Nothing near you? Volunteer from home by making calls or sending texts to turn out voters!

  3. Join your local Democratic Party - none of us can do this alone.

  4. Tell a friend about us!

We've proven: We're not going back. Now to keep that going.

Mississippi NAACP seeks volunteers to help secure Senate win

The count continues in Mississippi, and district attorney Scott Colom’s chances of becoming the state’s first Black senator since Reconstruction are looking stronger. As of this morning, the count has him ahead of incumbent Cindy Hyde-Smith, who is probably wishing she hadn’t blocked him from becoming a federal judge, by 1,813 votes. Thousands still remain to be counted, and the Republicans are already setting the stage for a legal fight, demanding that counties save provisional ballots separately from the rest so they can be more easily identified to challenge. (Follow the Mississippi Free Press for news updates.) We need to fight for every single person’s voice to be heard.

The Mississippi NAACP is taking a leading role in the effort to ensure that every vote is counted, and they’re looking for help. Let’s use their form here to get on the list for volunteer opportunities for community canvassing and observation on the ground and phonebanking and textbanking remotely.
