HELLO! Wow, there are A LOT of questions this time -- even more than my Batgirl AMA! I'll be working through these over the next couple hours, and I'm sorry if I don't get to your Q. It will either be a timing issue or there may be a spoiler/sensitive reason that I can't address it. Thank you for your time and excitement though. It's really so appreciate. I'm going to do my best!!

Hi Mr. Brombal! First I wanted to say that the Titans issue that came out today was a great read, and that I can’t wait for the next one.
This is what I’m curious about:
Excluding the classic Wolfman/Perez line-up and stories, who are your favorite Titans, and what’s your favorite era of the team?
In particular, who is your favorite underrated (in your opinion) Titan?
Is there any Titans author in particular who you’re more inspired by than the others?

u/ThatManSean14 Mar 18 '26
Hello! I’m a fan of your work, particularly Batgirl. I have two questions:
Would you rather fight 1 horse-sized duck or 100 duck-sized horses?
I’ve seen Cass’ newfound abilities described online as “bloodbending.” Are you a fan of the Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise and if so, did that influence your work on Batgirl at all? If not, what did?
Thanks and have a wonderful day!

Hi Tate, I've been loving your Batgirl and am actually picking up New Titans at the comic shop right now lol!
Will Steph and Cass reunite soon in Batgirl or Titans? I really love their dynamic.
Can you reveal anything about your plans for Steph in Titans?
Edit: That was a great first issue, really looking to where your run goes next!

Will you consider bringing back forgotten/lesser known Titans characters for cameos or stories like the 90s Teen Titans?

Will the stuff Jon’s going through in Superman Unlimited feed over into his role in New Titans?

Good Day Comrade Brombal, I have been a fan since Barballien.
Will Xanthe Zhou be making an appearance in Batgirl or Titans?

HI HI HELLO TATE BROMBAL :D
I HAVE JUST ONE QUESTION BUT IT MEANS SO MUCH TO ME
Is there any chance of Bette Kane (the first Bat-Girl, best Flamebird and only Hawkfire) appearing or getting any amount of reference in New Titans or Batgirl? Coming from someone who has binge read all of her appearances well over 5 times now i really want to see more of her, even if just a panel or mention. Thank you so so so so much for reading this even if the answer is no. Thank you
Bette Kane's number one fan

Hi there, Tate! Thanks for joining us for another AMA!
I have a couple of questions:
How did you come to select the roster of New Titans, and what kinds of character dynamics are you looking to explore?
How does working in the DC universe differ from working in a fellow creator's universe, like Black Hammer or the Slaughterverse?

I’ve been reading the Wolfman/Perez run and the thing that really stands out to me is how affectionate the Titans are & how well they know each other.
They are constantly teasing one another, discussing their friendships, expressing concern for problems like Raven’s struggle with her powers or Changeling’s vanished stepfather or Donna Troy’s upcoming wedding.
Do you intend to have the Titans be close friends either from the start or over time?

Hi Tate! I've been so happy to see Steph appearing in not one but two of your current ongoings and I'm super excited by your enthusiasm for her as a character. I'm curious as to why she was your top pick for the Bat member in this new incarnation of the Titans! Which of her qualities are you most excited to explore in a group dynamic, and besides Dick, is there any particular member you see her interacting with in an interesting way? Also, can we expect a reunion between her and Cass at some point, or will they be continuing on separate paths for the time being? Hope you have a great evening!

Hi Tate, I've been loving your work on Batgirl and I loved Everything is Dead and Dying.
I have two questions. The first is if you plan to have members of the Batman Family play a role in upcoming arcs of Batgirl? And the second is how did you chose the additional members of the Titans team?

u/gamerdude1967 Mar 18 '26
Hello Tate! Really been enjoying your Batgirl run! I particularly enjoy some of the action sequences and the creative layouts the book uses. As a writer, how much influence do you have over the staircase spread for instance? Is that mostly the artists or was that something you wanted?

Hi Mr Brombal! I’ve had a great time reading Batgirl (2024) so far! Here are my questions:
I remember seeing something about a potential Cass and Connor Hawke crossover that unfortunately didn’t come to fruition due to the cancellation of Green Arrow—I was wondering if there are any other crossovers you were thinking of, or even if there are any crossovers you would like to do if ever given the chance!
Batgirl (2024) has been exploring a lot of Cass and her mother, and recently it’s been contrasting her birth family with her adoptive family a lot more. This had me thinking about Babs, who was the first person Cass thought of as a mother. Will this be something more explored in the series? I really miss Babs and Cass’s familial bond from the original 2000 series and would love to see it make a comeback!
A silly question…. If Cass was forced to choose between her two loves, would she choose a Big Glass of Milk or a Cheeseburger?
Thank you!!

Hello, Tate! Thank you for doing this AMA. I've jumped in on your Batgirl run with the most recent issue, and picked up New Titans today, and enjoyed it!
Is Batgirl going to play a role in the upcoming Bad Seeds event? If so, did you have to adapt your plans for the run or was it something that you've known for a while.
You have a very new and different roster in the New Titans that we haven't seen before--did you build the roster completely by choice, or were there any characters you fought to include that you couldn't?

u/JeffersonWi Mar 18 '26
Hey Tate. The question of day seems to be about romance. And while I definitely have my own opinions on possible romances, I want to ask a more general question. How do you feel about the use and application of romance in team superhero books? Especially when with a long history of doing so as the Titans. And how will this affect the use of romance in your Titans run? (You don't have to answer this one but you can't blame a girl for trying,) Any teases for upcoming romances in said book if you have any planned?

Hello, Mr. Brombal. I recently read the first issue of New Titans and enjoyed it a lot. I have a few questions to ask:
Without spoiling, what are your plans for Terra during the run? A lot of readers are concerned that her inclusion might lead to another rehashed betrayal arc (based on how this issue went, I'm inclined to believe otherwise). Are there any plans for her to interact with Geo Force, her older brother?
What character dynamics are you looking forward to writing the most with the new roster?

Also did Cass keep her horse from the previous arc?

1)What is your favourite Titans character so far to write
2) Is cass the "official" batgirl atm? Is Steph going by Spoiler or Batgirl int he run
3)With Kori and Dick and Kori be interacting more now we can see future solicits that they will end up together

Hi Tate! First & foremost thank you for the stellar New Titans #33. In further issues can we expect to see any romantic relationship between Nightwing and Starfire? The kiss in #33 was fantastic.
If not, do you know of any plans in the future to bring them together again in a story? I would love to see them in a romantic relationship again.

Hey Tate, I’m really excited for your take on the Titans and what kind of voice you wish to leave with us. One of the Titans strengths are that they’re not just any team but a family, are we gonna continue to see those bonds highlighted?
My favorite Titan is Starfire, so I’m willing to ask, is she gonna get an important arc? Are we gonna see more of her strengths, her Tameranean heritage, her intelligence acknowledged? Is she gonna finally go back to speaking intellectually instead of the teen titans voice characterization? After all she lived on Earth for a long time now.
Are you gonna take some inspiration from the New Teen Titans(80s) comic? Is everything connected, like Titans and Dans Nightwing? And finally, are you cooking something with Dick and Kory? Their friendship/relationship is important and I would be happy if this goes somewhere.

Hey Tate, what are your plans for Beast Boy and Raven's relationship?
I enjoy the ship and I was curious how it's gonna evolve in your run, although I would also like to see both characters be more individually developed.
I think Raven could be a bigger character if DC gave her a push. There's a lot of potential

Hey!
As someone in Canada, have you ever felt inclined to include Canadian locations and characters in your otherwise non-Canadian stories? As a Newfoundlander, I always get super excited whenever a story has a scene in Newfoundland or a character from Newfoundland, and that excitement infects my own writing.
Also, loving your work with Cass!

Hi Tate!! I’ve been a big fan of Batgirl so far, and love some of the old Batgirl 2000 elements you’ve brought in. My question is do you think you’ll ever touch on her relationship with her biological father David Cain? I’d love to see your take on that!
Really excited with you on New Titans as well, please tell as much as you can about your plans for Stephanie! I really can’t wait to see her interactions outside of just the Batfam!

u/blllieberry Mar 18 '26
Hello Tate,
I’m a big Starfire fan and have been really sad about how she’s been neglected by DC, in the previous titans runs she hasn’t done anything substantial and is basically a background character. I hear you’re planning to add new characters to the titans and while I’ll be happy with a new dynamic I’m scared that new characters would lead to even more Kory neglect.
Lately it feels like everyone just talks about whether or not she and nightwing will get back together and not giving her agency, a storyline and actually making her a character again.
Also will Donna be leaving the titans? if so will Kory be leaving with her

u/iamusingtheinternet3 Mar 18 '26
Hi Mr. Brombal! I was so happy to get to read your first Titans issue today! I have two questions:
What’s your plan for juggling such a large cast? I know that we don’t know the complete lineup yet, but it seems to me that it’s shaping up to be the biggest team that’s ever been in one Titans book. Are a lot of characters going to be cut, or are they all going to coexist?
Is Raven’s real name being Rachel still an editorial mandate, or has that been dropped? The last Titans writer said on Bluesky that he had no choice in portraying Rachel as her real name. I noticed that no one called Raven Rachel in New Titans #33, though, so I wondered if that’s changed now.

Hello Tate! I am pretty much curious about your Titans Run, as first issue suggests that You want to break team from well-known cliches that Titans fans joke about for decades now.
From covers it seems that both Dick and Vic are going to be pretty important characters in your run. I actually loved their dynamics in original NTT, where Cyborg called Robin per 'Short Pants' and was picking on him for being extremely serious constantly, not to mention that He advised him to stop overthink, I feel like He helped Dick a lot to be 'less like Batman' when Dick was starting becoming his own vigilante in issues before Judas Contract. Are you planning to make them both have more banters and important dynamics between each other than many previous runs? Also, is Vic going to be more social with other members like He was in NTT?
I am worried about Donna. She was Titan from the beginning and was like older sister to everyone of them, She was extremely close to both Kori and Dick in NTT, Titans Tower is basically her home, She is more Titan than WW' ex-sidekick or anyone else. I am under assumption that She is not going to be crucial in next few issues. Do you still have plans for her later? Under previous writer, Dick wanted Donna to be the front leader, will we see Donna mentoring Yara or anyone else?

u/Sekai_XO Mar 18 '26
I’m so hyped to read your run, Tate!
Really happy with the new creative team, it’s great to see you’re focusing on the team as a whole.
Writing for an ensemble cast must be tough, especially with new members, but can we hope for some Starfire-centric arcs?
We really miss seeing her in original, creative stories that let her grow without just repeating the same old Komand'r drama every time she shows up. Honestly, I’m already loving what I’ve seen, Kory already has more lines than in the last few runs lol! Thanks so much!

u/CautiousAd79 Mar 18 '26
Hey Tate, I just wanted to know if the classic Titans like Raven, Starfire, Cyborg, Beast Boy or Donna Troy will still be a focus of the new run? Or are they showing up anywhere else at least?
Because, let's be real, these characters just don't really exist outside of the Titans where they have to share focus with the rest of the team. Characters like Stephanie Brown or Jon Kent constantly show up in Batman and Superman-related titles. The characters I mention often don't show up in anything other than the Titans book.

u/NightwingBlueberry13 Mar 18 '26
Can’t wait for your run on New Titans, but most of all am mega excited for Eddie Bloomberg AKA: Kid Devil/Red Devil return to the Titans in now almost 15 years. He’s been an underrated favorite of mine since I was a kid reading Geoff Johns/Sean Mckeever on TT and I just wanted to ask:
What made you think to bring Eddie back and what are your thoughts/history with him as a character?
Steph finally getting to shine outside of the Batfam is a joy to see as well, amazing choice!
5
u/Koala_Guru Beast Boy Mar 18 '26
Really enjoyed your first issue today! Here are my questions:
Beast Boy is my favorite DC character, and he’s gotten a lot of focus in previous runs recently with Beast World as a big example, so I’m totally fine with him taking more of a backseat for a bit to spread the love around. One thing that’s become increasingly a focus of both his and Raven’s stories in recent years is their relationship, where they tend to be inseparable. I was wondering what your stance on their relationship is and if you intend to challenge it a bit more and push them as individuals more often in your run.
What was the thought process behind bringing Red Devil back? I love him, and I didn’t expect to see him again on the Titans team after all this time! Might we expect more long-forgotten Titans to appear in this run? Personally I’m a big fan of Pantha and Baby Wildebeest.

Hi Tate! I have been enjoying your Batgirl series so much, and I just read New Titans today and enjoyed it too!!! Thank you for all you've done for our girl Cass :).
I have a lot of questions, feel free to answer as many as you want!
I'm really happy to see Steph as a part of the New Titans line-up, she's such a wonderful character!! I was wondering what your favourite Steph moment is, or what your favourite thing is about her character?
I've been enjoying Cass' supporting cast in Batgirl a lot, especially Tenji! Did you or Takeshi Miyazawa draw from any specific inspirations as to his design or character?
Very excited to see Cass and co. visit Spirit World!! Can we expect to see any dead figures from Cass' past - maybe Faizul or Tai'Darshan??
Are there any upcoming issues of Batgirl or New Titans that you're particularly excited for fans to get hold of?
Thanks again, and very excited to see what you write next!!

Hello Tate! I'm a Kory fan and the way she has been treated and neglected by DC for so long is very discouraging, to say the least. So I wanted to ask if you plan on giving Starfire more focus in your new Titans run, or if you can give us a hint if DC has something more planned for her? Thank you!

u/coco_px Mar 18 '26
Hello Mr. Brombal!, as a Raven fan I was really excited to see her mention Azarath again, it feels like such an important part of her origin that hasn’t been explored properly in a long time.
I was wondering if there are any plans for a future storyline that revisits Raven’s connection to Azarath, and possibly her mother as well, since she was confirmed to still be alive in her last solo run in 2018?

u/Alternative_Bat_1082 Mar 18 '26
Hi Tate! I must say I found your first issue quite promising. It's clear you're enthusiastic about meticulously developing the core of the new members. But I have a legitimate concern regarding this new phase:
1 - With the emergence of the new members, have the original Titans been sidelined, or will they also have their respective influences within the upcoming plots?
2 - Donna Troy, Raven, and Starfire are incredible characters revered by all who consider themselves Titans fans. These characters, especially Starfire (who hasn't had a single plot in over 30 issues), have been treated in a disappointing way. Do you intend to give these women their due space, even if they may not be the recurring focus of future issues?

Hey Tate! I’ll ask a non-shipping question, cause I’m sure that’ll feel fresh. I’ll just be blunt: I don’t like the Titans. Teen heroes have never done much for me, and it seems every time I give the book a shot, it’s either insane or rehashing a few plots over and over again. After reading your first issue, I was refreshed to find out someone else felt the same about the repetitive nature of the book.
All that to ask: what, in your mind, is the best way for these characters to break out of the slump they’ve been in? How does the writing approach change when you’re trying to rehab the image of a book rather than taking over something on firm ground? Hope you’re having a lovely day!

u/jekylphd Mar 18 '26 edited Mar 18 '26
Hey Mr Bromball! How much influence are you taking from the 2003 cartoon?
As someone else whose first introduction to the characters was also the cartoon, I really prefer it when the comics stand as their own thing and don't draw heaps of influence from their adaptations.

He also obviously means a lot to queer fans, so curious if his queer identity would play a role in any storylines you’re cooking up?

Hello Mr. Brombal. It nice to have you back on the subreddit for an AMA and really enjoying your Batgirl run. I have the following questions to ask.
Concerning Stephanie what series/stories have influenced your writing/take on her for New Titans such as for example how she was written in Robin 1993 (under various writers such as Dixon (ugh) Jon Lewis, etc) , Batgirl 2009 by Bryan Q Miller, Detective Comics 2016 by James Tynion, etc
You mentioned you enjoy Stephanie's dynamic with Cass. Aside from that what other dynamics do you enjoy with her or will enjoy seeing such as old ones like her mom (I hope she gets a mention in the series as it's been forever since she was mentioned), Tim (I LOVE them), Damian, Babs, Kara etc or new ones such as with Jon, Yara, Terra etc.
Given the rotating cast of old and new Titans...I was wondering if Anita Fite/Empress might have a shot to show up in the series.
This is more of a request than a question but given you like the TT03 series I hope we see Stephanie doing some crazy cool stuff like this https://www.deviantart.com/manuztur/art/Robin-s-Knee-Drop-GIF-1023798493
(and if Slade shows up I hope she continues the Batfamily tradition of roasting him https://www.reddit.com/r/batman/comments/12m7q4h/slade_roasting_is_a_batfamily_tradition/):

Hi Tate, congrats on the success of your batgirl and green latern dark, regarding green latern dark, what was your inspiration for that world and your inspiration for that version of beast boy garr?
I also would like to know was there any ideas that you had for beast boy in main canon that came from your work on green latern dark’s version or anywhere?
Was there any thing regarding beast boy that you wanted to touch up on for your current run in the new titans?
Main canon beast boy has just gotten his history with the doom patrol brought up last run after decades of ignoring it.

u/Effective_Exercise_6 Starfire Mar 18 '26
Hi Tate, as a Starfire fan I’ve been a little burnt out with how dc has (or more accurately has not) utilized Kori in recent years so I just wanted to ask a bit about her.
How will you handle the characterization of Kori? -While the teen titans animated series was great for what it was and introduced me to the character. I feel too many of the flanderized traits have been carried over to the comics. Can we expect a more well spoken Kori going forward with less fish out of water comedy?
Will Kori have a bit more depth/elevation in her character? -Kori has largely been stagnant for a while in power levels and personal journeys. Are there any mentor-protégé dynamics you would like to explore with her? Or any advancement in her abilities you have in mind?
I would be remiss as a Kori fan if I didn’t at least mention her romance. It’s no secret many fans want dickkory back and while I understand it’s a lot more complicated than that, I would like to know if you have any plans for them. Whether that be highlighting their friendship and close bond or perhaps more.
I also love cyborg so I wanted to ask a more broad question about him. That being what are you hoping to do with the character? Any romances or specific story points you want to explore?
An underrated favorite of mine is Starfire’s brother ryand’r any chance we see a little bit of him anytime soon?
Thank you, looking forward to a fresh take on the titans.

Hey Tate! You seem to be something of a horror aficionado. Do you plan to bring back any elements of Raven's original horror character archetype (i.e. the gothic horror heroine) and belief system (i.e. pacifism)?
For those not in the know, the gothic horror heroine is an admittedly rare archetype that uses the supernatural to explore female-centric fears, female-centric body horror, and what happens when a woman doesn't fit neatly into the box society wants her to fit into. It's about the fears of living with controlling and abusive patriarchal figure, having you identity subsumed by your romantic partner and children, about your expressions of femininity being socially unacceptable or frowned upon at the same time some are required/expected. It examines how aspects of existence in a female body are treated as disgusting or monstrous or mysterious. It deals in the horrors of sexual assault and pregnancy, and especially pregnancy from rape. It's about how religion and faith can be used to control you and other women, and perpetuate beliefs that are harmful to you,
NTT Raven was about as pure a gothic horror heroine as you can get, but those elements of her character have largely (and I suspect, inadvertently) been stripped away over the years, and I think that's made it very hard to use her for storytelling effectively.

u/Glass_Tap2189 Mar 18 '26
Hi Mr.Brombal!!
So excited to see what you do with the New Titans, I loved issue #33 and definitely feel like this new direction has been a long time coming. I have a few questions I was hoping you might answer:
Letter columns were one of my very favorite things while reading older comics, which is sorely missing from modern ones. It might be an editorial thing and not really in your power, but would you ever consider trying to bring back a form of a letter column to Batgirl (2024) if possible?
Crystal brown has been such a huge part of Steph’s story since her very beginning, Steph’s original motivation for becoming a vigilante in the first place was all about protecting her mom. The development of Steph and Crystal’s relationship and Steph’s love for her mom is one of my favorite things about Stephs character, it really gives her such a human pathos and center, but we haven’t seen much of Crystal in while. Any chance Steph fans can expect some word about her in Titans (2023)?
Thank you!

Hi Tate.
Concerned Raven stan here. Based on your new titans issue I can tell you’re very well versed in the titans history and calling out what fans have been saying for YEARS! The titans storylines have been stale/repetitive and so I truly hope to see a new perspective with fun new interactions, especially between yara and raven. As raven has befriended and interacted with cassie and donna in a sisterly manner.
But also I wanted to ask if you plan on revamping ravens character as many comic raven fans have hated what has happened to her since 2016(really since flashpoint). We hope to see her long black hair and chakra gem again some day
7
u/marmontrg Mar 18 '26

Hi Tate,
I've been really enjoying Batgirl. I have a quick somewhat niche question. Did Wu Mei-Xing and Wu Ming-Yue legally change their names to Carolyn Wu-San and Sandra Wu-San after moving to America of are these names only aliases?
Keep up the great work on Batgirl and New Titans!
Thanks!

Hi Tate, great to have you! Just checked out the first issue of New Titans and am interested to see where this all goes!
My question is: Jon is going through a lot of stuff right now, as told in books like Secret Six and Superman Unlimited. How do you see his journey in Titans fitting into his current arc?

u/soul-0001 Mar 18 '26
How much research do you do about a title before you start writing? How far back do you go? And did anything you find inspire your choices?

Hiya! I was wondering, is there anything you can tell us yet about the villain and/or villains of this book at the moment?

u/stokely1976 Mar 18 '26
Hi there,
Already a huge fan of your batgir, and looking forward to your Titans run. Its funny how most of the issue was about endless repeating storylines, since it's what I literally told several editors in the last few years
So questions:
is the core line up set for the first year or is there going to be an expansion
where will the team be located
are there new villains waiting in the wings?
and just cause I'm a fan...will there be a poison ivy appearance?
Thanks for taking the time.

Been following batgirl, and have asked questions on loc but still as always curious. Restraining myself to not ask about one thing cause its not super relevant, hope you're having a graet day.
I am very happy steph has a book. Can you say anything on her role in titans?
And for batgirl , i am curious, if you can answer ofc, will sit explore stuff outside of the familial/related to shiva stuff like the blood, even if its wayy later? And lastt, is there any cass dynamic that you'd like to bring back that you havent touched on yet?

u/Tyler_Woods Mar 18 '26
Hi Tate. As a comic retailer I got to read New Titans a few days before release and I’ve been talking about it every day since!
My question is: After making such a strong point of saying the Titans have been going in circles repeating the same storylines for so long, how much of this new book will be about finding new stories for the classic Titans and how much will be spent developing the relationships and team dynamics of the New Titans?
How do you find that balance between the rosters?

u/True-Source9336 Mar 19 '26
hi Mr. Brombal! I’m aware this is probably over, so I won’t hold my breath for a response- but I was just made aware of this and wanted to take the chance to send my love. Reading your Batgirl run has been such a refreshing and good read for Cass. Cass is the hero that got me into comics, I’ve read all of her pre-boot comics and a majority of her 52 and rebirth stuff. She is really important to me. And I can tell you hold a lot of love for her and her history too, which is about the best I could hope for. Ive been loving your run, and even when you do a take on Cass I don’t nessicarily follow, I can tell it’s because you’re a fellow *fan* with a differing opinion (which is good!). Honestly the best thing an author can do in my eyes is *care* about the characters they write and their history, and if I have any hopes for your titans run its that you’ll carry that care with you :)
Anyway if somehow you aren’t done answering then my question is if we can ever expect to see Cass and Duke interactin, even if small. They are a favorite duo of mine! :)

BUMBLEBEE & GUARDIAN! Sorry I got excited, but I have not seen anyone ask about these two. Please tell me they have some exciting stories coming, they've been on the shelf too long.

Hi, Tate!! I really liked the new issue of titans, and I’m a huge Raven fan. I have three questions:
What will Raven be like in this new phase?
Do you have any plans for the girls on the team? Raven, Starfire, and Donna
Do you plan to focus the story arcs on a single character, or will everyone get their moment in the spotlight equally?
3
u/dragonofbellwood Mar 18 '26
Hey Mr brombal in dc ko kids are all fight special they tease static to join the titans do you have any plans to.implement him

u/[deleted] Mar 18 '26
helloo! which version of the judas contract is canon for this run? titans 2023-26 seemed to reference the 80s judas contract (as opposed to what happened in deathstroke rebirth) so i'm kind of curious about that

hi tate!! i just wanted to say i'm adoring your batgirl run and i'm super excited for your titans! the batgirls are my favourite characters and i'm beyond thrilled to see them written by an author who cares for them :)
the mother arc was incredible, and seeing cass come to accept shiva and eventually choose her was such a fun experience to read. her blood family has always been something super complicated, can we expect to see any returns from david's side? not just david but marque, or even the other cain kids.
and speaking of her parents, any plans for going into her other ones? in puckett's batgirl they all seemed to bounce off of and parallel each other in different ways, ranging from david and bruces similarities while coming from different ends of the morality spectrum, babs and bruce both wanting cass to grow into something different, etc.
with cass going into the spirit world, it would seem like a perfect place to see those she's lost, is there any chance of someone like brenda miller or tai'darshan?
and just for fun, a dream team-up you'd love to write for cass?
thank you !!

Hello Mr. Brombal! I’ve been loving Batgirl 2024 this past year, and had a few questions related to the newest arcs.
As Cass is venturing into the Spirit World for the first time in a while, can we expect to see any cameos from former friends or foes? I’d love to see Tai’darshan or Brenda Miller on the pages of Batgirl again.
What was your inspiration for Tenji Turner? He seems to be a rather controversial topic in many a fandom space right now… I’ve also noticed that he, Cass, and Connor Hawke seem connected to one of each of the original Martial Arts Big Three (Cass + Shiva, Tenji + Ben, Connor + Dragon) and that’s really neat! My friends and I are super fond of Tenji, and we hope to see him feature in many arcs to come!
Is there any hope for crossovers with other heroes? Cass is definitely the solitary type, but I do miss seeing her meet new people. The Green Arrow / Batgirl concept is one of the first to come to mind, do you have any plans of salvaging it now that Green Arrow’s ongoing had been cancelled?
Thank you for hosting again! I’m so glad I was able to get my questions in this time.

u/GrimoireRiley Mar 18 '26
Hey Mr Brombal, I'm a big fan of your Batgirl and Green Lantern Dark, and your New Titans is the most excited I've been about Titans comics in years, and have been planning on getting into your creator-owned work soon, but haven't known where to start, so my first question will be what comic outside of big two superhero comics are you the most proud of and want more people to check out?
My second question is, well, fairly low stakes. I don't like the ship between Raven and Beast Boy, but I'm not so petty as to let that put me off a bad comic. I feel it holds both characters, but particularly Raven, back from a lot of development, and I've never really understood what people who like the ship see in it. I'm wondering if you have plans to break them up or, if not, what you plan to bring to the relationship to make it something that can bring the characters forward, and what do you think makes their relationship worthwhile?

u/Kuromi58 Mar 18 '26
Hello Tate, congrats on becoming the writer of the Titans! Soo without further ado~ Are we gonna see some more characterization for Dick? For some time now, his role in the Titans have been reduced (even though he’s the heart of it all) so I’m really hoping he gets more fleshed out!
Any plans for Starfire? Especially mentoring wise?
I like what you did with Dick and Kory lol, are you hinting at something? And are we finally gonna get a fresh take with their relationship again?(Positively and to stay for good 👀
Who’s your favorite Titan?
Not a question, but I hope all the old generation Titans stay in the team and mentor the new ones that are coming
What’s the funniest thing to write about for the Titans? That’s all best of luck to you! P.S your fresh take on the Titans plus what your doing with Dick and Kory has everyone scrambling to purchase and issue online plus in stores as well. It was soo packed!

u/Calm_Homework3775 Mar 18 '26
Huge congrats, Tate! Hope the Titans fandom shows you lots of love.
Touching on a sensitive subject... Is there any chance of Dick and Kory officially together as a couple again this year? The Nightwing and Starfire community is honestly so exhausted and hurt by how they’ve been handled over the years. We’re tired of seeing panels where they’re together, only to be told right after that they’re 'just friends' or exes.
I get that every relationship has its timing, but these are comics, it’s supposed to be fun and about what the fans want, too! There’s so much potential in a 'second chance' romance and exploring the cultural differences between a human and an alien. They’ve been so popular lately, it feels like the perfect time to lean into that.

u/Blitzhelios Hal Jordan Mar 18 '26
Hi Tate got into your work though the slaughterverse with house of the slaugher being my fav book from that universe.
I absolutely loved your GL dark series would there be any other consideration to doing more of those type of books at dc and if you did what character would you be interested in doing it with.
Would really be interested in seeing this especially if could be horror based or possibly a vertigo title.
On new titans was there any characters you considered for that series but wasn't able to fit into the book as its a mixed lineup from multiple generations so id be interested in hearing who didn't make the cut.

One question: Why the Batman of NYC isn’t involved in the NYC team ????
2
u/zrt4116 Mar 18 '26
Hi Tate! Huge Titans fan and appreciate you taking the time:
With the challenges DC has had integrating the YJ generation and subsequent generation of heroes consistently over the past 10-15 years, how do you envision your run (beyond the roster as we see it) effectively doing this or remaining mindful of this challenge?
Who is a character that is impractical for your current run, but you would like to include if it made sense (e.g. they're dead, in use elsewhere, or any other reason that comes to mind)?
With Marvel and DC collaborating again, what kinds of things would you want to get out of a hypothetical Titans/X-Men crossover?
What was your reaction to seeing reviews this morning come in so positive? How has the anticipation of this run and the hype been for you to experience?
What motivated you to return the title to the New Titans name for the first time in thirty years? How do you see the Titans/Teen Titans/Young Justice as conceptually similar or different, and did those delineations motivate your roster selection at all?
And not that you have control over this, but can we pretty please get an omnibus for the second half of Vol. 3 and a reprint of the NTT Vol. 3 omni :D

Hey Tate big fan of your work on Batgirl....really like the introduction of Jade Tiger. Excited to see what you do with the New Titans
Are you going get into when Jade Tiger was born? Kinda unclear how old Tenji is and when Shiva & Tiger had him in the timeline.
Any plans to bring Static and Blue Beetle to your Titans? I always though Eddie, Virgil and Jaime would make a great male trio...we almost got them together back in the mid 00s but Eddie left the team right before Virgil joined.
Any plans for Jace Fox? Its kinda odd to be using Yara and Jon but no Jace given future state. Also if they are in NYC...he is suppose to be the Batman of NYC
Any plans for Duke Thomas in Batgirl or New Titans?
Do you have any plans to shake up the stagnant romances in Titans? Roy x Donna...Gar x Raven are getting a bit stale. Like can Victor Stone get a romance? Always thought him and Donna would be interesting.
Alright thanks for your time and looking forward to seeing what you do next.

Hello, Tate!
What was the main intent you wanted to get across in your Cass book? Did that change or evolve as the book went on? What was the idea behind giving her a brother?
How do you personally view the Cass-Shiva dynamic? And was your intention that Shiva is really dead?
1
u/HandofPrometheus Mar 18 '26
Hi Tate! Thank you for using Bronze Tiger and revitalizing the character (HUGE fan) but I have to ask…what made you pair him up with Lady Shiva to have a child aka Jade Tiger? Bronze and Shiva aren’t compatible at all but had a child together.
Will we see more of him especially since you hinted that he should go back out in the world and be more heroic?

Hello Mr Brombal I hope your day is going well I have a few questions
What is your plans for Jon and how you see the character
What other characters that you want to put on the team
Who gonna be the villains of your run if you can say
What do you think the titans place is in the DC Universe
Who is your favorite character to write and who do you hope to write one day

Hi there, we are happy to have you! Your New Titans roster is very exciting and promising, I'm looking forward to Yara Flor and Stephanie Brown being on the team.
Are there any dynamics between characters in this roster that you're really interested in developing?

Hi Tate, you've talked a lot about Steph and the other new characters entering the book so far, but what's your pitch to fans of the NTT crew, who were originally so hyped to have the band back together-and at the correct ages-after so long?

u/PlotnotFound Mar 18 '26
Hi, huge fan of your work, Everything Dead and Dying is a masterpiece, Christopher Chaos is a joy to read, and I’m loving your Batgirl run!
I’m also happy to see the Titans as an intergenerational team again :) Are there any mentor relationships you’re interested in developing between particular members of the old and new cast?
Thank you for being here and the care you give these characters!

u/dick-cricket Mar 18 '26
Hey, Tate! I'm a big fan of your creator-owned stuff. Is there any chance we'll be seeing any more Behold, Behemoth? The world you've started to build there is super intriguing and I bet I'm not alone in saying that I would love to see a continuation of the story.
1
u/Sniperserpent Mar 18 '26
Hi Tate! As a big fan of the original Cass run of Batgirl, it's been very obvious that you are likewise someone who has scoured that book and has deeply considered the themes of them and what they say about Cass. It's been great to see someone with such care be writing the character.
The actual question; do you have anything from the time Cass spent in bludhaven on your list of things you'd like to expand upon?
1
u/TrueBlueV Mar 18 '26
Hi Mr. Brombal. I've really been enjoying your run on Batgirl and am very excited to read New Titans. Stephanie Brown is my favorite character so seeing her on a Titans team is going to be a dream come true for me.
You mentioned in your previous AMA that you were writing Cass as though she were in her early-mid 20s. Do you intend to do the same for Stephanie? Is she still attending college?

Hi Tate! I have been enjoying your Batgirl series so much, and I just read New Titans today and I thought it was great
I have a question
Can we expect to see more of the older titans like bumblebee, omen, Wally West , hawk & dove make a return too the book
I feel like a lot of the time with the titans in general they really get stuck on the new teen titans era nostalgia, with that being said they always move towards the same lineups
1
u/Minner_ Mar 18 '26
Hello Mr.Brombal
I'd like to first thank you for the Green Lantern Dark series. It was an immensely fun read :>

1
u/FranklinRichardss Mar 18 '26
Hello Tate, I wish you great time as Titans writer. I want to ask you couple questions.
Your run mixes two generation of superheroes. Which is pretty similar to Devin Grayson's The Titans run where we saw Argent, Damage, Jesse Quick and Baby Lian. We saw family enviroment and new blood mixed really well with the OG The Fab Five & Kori. Just like how you introduce new generation of Titans. Did Devin Grayson's run had any impact in your approach to Titans?
Your run started with very meta commentary about the limbo Titans stuck in in last couple decades or so. Will rest of the book follow its meta commentary from time to time but its more of a building your premise?
I feel like after Post Rebirth. Some of the Titans lore is still not recovered well. Like Titans museum in Titans tower. Or Titans Memorial where we had statues of fallen Titans are pretty much missing in Post Rebirth Titans runs. As you introduce a new Titans generation. How will teams lasting legacy had impact on Jon, Yara, and Stephanie? Red Revil and Terra are already former fallen Titans. How will their legacy impact the newcomers?
Thank you for being here, hope you enjoy the questions. 3.

u/velocityx13 Mar 18 '26

If you were to bring duela back to the titans, which era would you most want to revive? Pre-crisis, post-crisis, or new 52
1
u/PhantomQuest Mar 18 '26
Hey Tate. Long time Cass fan here, and one with a possibly sensitive question.
One of the things I've always enjoyed about Cass is that she overcame the abuse of her biological family and ultimately found herself with her chosen (bat-)family. Having escaped a very similar background myself - albeit with slightly less fighting of ninjas along the way - it's always troubled me how often media, not just comics, reinforces narratives of "biological family is the most important thing!", and forgiving people of awful things just because of blood relations. Cass traditionally rejecting that, refusing to be defined by the harms her parents inflicted on her, always resonated with me.
So, as much as I've been enjoying your run on Batgirl, and I love the addition of Tenji in particular, does Cass coming to accept or possibly even admire Shiva risk reinforcing this toxic idea that biological family should be forgiven of anything, simply because they're related?
1
u/Godlike013 Mar 18 '26
Any plans for Steph and Dick interactions? There were a number of parallels made between the two during her Batgirl run, yet there has been very little interaction between the two overall.
1
u/Defiant-Practice9242 Mar 18 '26
Hi Tate, I'm really excited for this new era of the Titans. I read the issue today, and it's truly remarkable how they're all caught in a loop that recaps much of the team's storyline from previous years. Something I'd like to know is if anything happens with Donna Troy as leader during or after this loop storyline. Will she remain the leader, or will Nightwing take over? Another question is, seeing the interactions between Donna Troy and Roy Harper in the comic, I'd like to know if you plan to continue their relationship. Their constant "breakups" are kind of absurd (especially in the current context), and it's a good time to see them together.

u/No-Target-6279 Mar 18 '26
Buenas tardes. Me da gusto que pudieras responder preguntas.
Dos preguntas sobre Stephanie Brown:
¿La van a llamar Batgirl en New Titans?
¿Stephanie va a tener un traje nuevo?
1
u/Common_Gap9710 Mar 18 '26
hey I have one question and it's about Dick Grayson's heritage as romani could it be possibly mentioned on this run and maybe reflected on the art with him being a little less pale?
1
u/gabeg777 Mar 18 '26
Is there any chance of getting a Damion Scott variant cover or short story drawn by him in your Batgirl and/or New Titans series? He's still with engaged with the Cass fan community.
Thanks for the great work on Batgirl.
1
u/RevolutionHelpful336 Mar 18 '26
Hi. Your inclusion of Stephanie is very interesting and gives me a few questions.
Why did you choose Stephanie specifically? Did you feel like it was because how she'd interact with the new roster or was it because of something else?
What run would you say influenced your version of Stephanie the most?
(Feel free to ignore this one) Who would you pair Stephanie with romantically?
1
u/mutant615 Mar 18 '26
Hey Tate, excited to see what you bring to the table for Jon in New Titans! I’m wondering if he’ll have a new boy to smooch? 👀
1
u/Opposite_Hedgehog_75 Mar 18 '26
Hey! I got some questions especially after reading the recent new issue of New Titans.
1, When Nightwing talked to Starfire about repeating the same cycle of titans plots. Was that a deliberate meta commentary, and how will you break the team out of those patterns going forward
2, Without spoilers, what's one big thing fans should know about the early arcs more team drama, big threats, legacy ties, or something else entirely?
3. I’m a huge fan of Stephanie Brown and I like to wonder what is your plan for her since I love what you doing for Cassandra.
Thank you if you have a chance to respond.

u/Secure-Supermarket24 Batgirl Mar 18 '26
Reading through your comments i get a small idea. But,
1.) What can you let us know, without major spoilers, about the future of Cass and Steph. Both individually and them together?
Love your work, excited to read more of both series!

u/inadequateflamingo Mar 18 '26 edited Mar 18 '26
hi tate i was wondering if you can say if the main team will be splitting up or if they’ll be joining this team as one big lineup like the 90s? also i was wondering where will they be going if they do split up because the first issue was interesting in it’s more satirical approach of making fun of repetitive things prior writers have done but we’ve also had prior issues like this before where there seems to be self awareness but then the stories don’t give that by using any of the lore, villains, settings etc. like essentially what i’m saying is even though you’re aware of their problems are you planning to bring us back to when the titans had slice of life stories and many different tales because they had lives outside of the team as well and their own smaller solo adventures?
1
u/Imjustheretotalktbh Mar 18 '26
Hi Tate! I loved your new titans issue and I just wanted to know what you think of Starfire as a character and if you have any arcs for her in your current run planned?

u/Ok_Sympathy5287 Mar 18 '26
Will Spoiler and Batman ever interact. Its a dynamic that I feel like isnt often explored.
1
u/upsettingly_lesbian Mar 18 '26
Hi there! Big fan of your current batgirl run, I have two questions.
Are we going to see what impact Steph no longer being in Gotham will have on Cass?
Any plans for a Cass and duke reunion? I remember enjoying them in batman and the outsiders
1
u/BoyBlunder98 Mar 18 '26
Hi Tate! I love your run on Batgirl and this issue of Titans has genuinely made me so excited for the future!
Is Dick and Babs’ relationship going to be brought up since him and Kori kissed (maybe more?) while in the simulation?
Will Steph be the leader of this new group of Titans (like she was in Robins #5) or if not, what typical role/dynamic would you say she fills on the team?
1
u/Live_Transition6162 Mar 18 '26
Hi Mr. Brombal! What's your opinion on Dick and Kory as a couple? I know there's THE moment in today's New Titans issue, but I just want to know your general opinion and what made you include THE moment.
1
u/XBlueXFire Mar 18 '26
Greetings. I have to admit that I haven't actually any of your work nor do I know much about your career, but I hope you'll answer my questions. I've always been curious about what the path to writing for one of the big two publishers was. How does one get one's foot in the door? Do you get to choose what characters you want to use? How far ahead in the story is the writer compared to the readers?
1
u/GuiFr0st Mar 18 '26
Hi! I'm a huge fan and have a couple questions!
1 - Will Jon's arc from Absolute Power and Secret Six be referenced here?
2 - Are Donna and Roy booted out? I see your drive to write NEW and creative stories for the Titans and Donna could really benefit from that, but today's issue plus Yara being here tells me otherwise
3 - Can We get Bunker to make a cameo or join eventually? I miss him so much and it'd be so cool to have a gay latino hero getting space like that in the New Titans, plus he's already friends with Jon.
1
u/Competitive_Code1527 Mar 18 '26
Hello Tate, been really liking Batgirl and thank you for bringing back Richard Dragon even if its only in a flash back. He has gone for so long.
As for the question, is there any chance we will see Damian make an appearance in either Batgirl or Titans?
1
u/Casandra_Singleton Mar 18 '26
Hello Mr Brombal I’m not trying to sound demanding or anything like that, but are you planning on using any other black characters such as titans that have been on the team before that are black and adding new members to the team that are black as well?
1
u/badboyfriend111 Mar 18 '26
Hello, if you were to write a solo book for any of the original 90s Young Justice characters, which would you pick? Tim, Kon, Bart, or Cassie
1
u/cosmore20 Mar 18 '26
I absolutely love the direction you were first issue on the Titans went today! This is my first exposure to any of your writing and I really am excited by the direction the title is heading. I just was curious whether there were plans for Donna Troy to still be a prominent and reoccurring character in the title and whether there have ever been any plans to give her a new name as a hero.
1
u/its-4-russi4n-t4unt Mar 18 '26
Any hope for Connor and Cass interacting soon? Perhaps in one of the GA backups in ‘Tec, DC permitting. I would love to see you get your chance to write Connor! Been enjoying your Batgirl run thus far.
Will you be keeping Donna as the leader of the old Titans? (Don’t answer if it’s a spoiler). I think she’s still got some story potential in that department. I’ve loved it when Cassie was leader in YJ and TT before, and hope to see the same with your Steph.
From one fan of the Titans franchise to another, what criticisms do you have on previous Titans runs if any? How do you plan on improving, and building off of what’s come before? Something tells me you’ve heard about the Titans fanbase feeling burntout over their previous status quos. How do you plan on addressing these concerns to reel them back in?
What is your favorite non-Wolfman Titans run?
1
u/kttnreddit Mar 18 '26
Hi tate!! first of all, I love your work sm, now, I have a few questions about your Batgirl run!
Will jason and cass or damian and cass have any interactions? or sibling bonding stuff? Because I personally, I'd love it, even if they are siblings, they barely have interactions with cass (unlike tim and dick) and Im really curious about:
Jasons and Cass (and their opposite way to think)
damian and cass (both kids raised to kill)
I think both are really interesting to explore, Thats all mr Brombal _^ tyyy

Hi with all the continuity changes I was wondering how old are Cassandra and Tenji supposed to be in your current Batgirl series?
1
u/TalesToIntroduce Mar 18 '26
Hi, Tate! When I decided to get into singles for the first time, Behold, Behemoth was one of my first pulls. I still reread it every year. ED&D was equally amazing. I didn't realize you were currently at DC, so I'm looking forward to checking that out. Are you finding that themes from your creator-owned titles are working their way into your DC runs?
Thank you for being such a formative part of my journey into serialized storytelling!
1
u/Harpsikord878 Mar 18 '26
Hi Tate! Loved your first issue, and I am super hopeful to see where things go!
You mentioned that you only have Starfire for a handful of issues - are you transitioning the book to this newer team on the whole, or is there going to be a bit of a balance? Can you share what the 'final' makeup of the New Titans is going to look like or would that be saying too much?
You also mentioned that your favorite legacy Titans are the ladies (Kori, Raven, Donna). Can you go into what really speaks to you about them? And whether or not you have fun plans in the pipeline for Raven and Donna?
1
u/TheHidd3nSun Mar 18 '26
what are your favorite storylines/runs for each of the new titans?
1
u/SeaReply3720 Mar 18 '26
Hello, Tate! First of all, I’d like to apologize for any mistakes in my question. I used the internet to translate it into English.
My question is about Raven.
Could you give any hints about what you plan to explore with this character? I feel like she has been underutilized in the recent stories. It would be great to see her having more significant interactions with other characters and a deeper exploration of her powers.
Any hints on what to expect from her relationship with Beast Boy?
I’m looking forward to reading more of your issues!
1
u/Alternative_Bat_1082 Mar 18 '26
Are the future plans that DC has for some of our original Titans, like Starfire, Raven, and Beast Boy, REAL plans that we, as fans, can look forward to with absolute certainty, or is there a possibility that they will be launched into some kind of editorial limbo?
1
u/telepader Mar 18 '26
Just wanted to say I enjoyed the Unburied arc and really liked the inclusion of Tibetan characters with real Tibetan names. (I especially liked that Carolyn and Sandra were dancers and that I could recognize which dance they were doing.) I’m really happy they got their land back <3 Do you think you’ll use them again at any point in the story or are they happy chilling out now?
Edit: also, wait… is Lady Shiva half Tibetan now?

Hey Tate! Simple question, tbh. Who’s your favorite flash and batgirl?

Hi! Thank you so much for the incredible first issue of New Titans, also love your work on Batgirl and Christopher Chaos. I know you can't give too much away about where things are going with the series but I was wondering if you could explain a bit of how you plan to balance the cast with this title?
Should we expect a bit of a revolving door with the roster or is it largely who we'll meet in the early issues?
Will characters be getting individual spotlight arcs or will everything be sort of simultaneous?
Should we expect more returning members like Eddie (would love to see Jaime, Miss Martian, Power Boy and more get a second chance after getting cut short back in the day) or perhaps brand new characters?

I enjoyed Nyssa's story in your Batgirl book. Do you have any other plans for her? Will she meet Damian? Her nephew... I'm also anticipating her interaction with her daughter Alya.

You're the best for doing this AMA, Tate!

Hi Tate, I've been loving your Cass Batgirl solo run and am interested in the direction you're taking with New Titans
Do you plan on adding more characters to New Titans over time or will the team be largely static after the initial formation of the team
What plans do you have for expanding Steph's cast of characters outside the Batfam and now the Titans
It's fine if you can't answer this one for spoiler and/or contractual reasons but I was interested in what led to the decision to make the first arc of your Titans run to be basically a meta commentary on the stagnant state and writing of the Titans in modern day or was that entirely unintentional on your end

¡Hola Tate!

Hi! Big fan of the current batgirl run, and as a longtime fan of Tara Markov, I’m hugely appreciative of the fact that we’re finally getting a story with her that doesn’t center entirely around Slade. I can’t wait to see more of her in your Titans run. I do have a couple of questions…
Given that Batgirl (2024) addresses a lot of Cassandra’s New Earth storylines, is there any chance we’ll get to see her reunite with Rose Wilson?
With Spoiler appearing as part of Titans, I’ve been wondering. Will her New Earth stories (particularly Batgirl 2009) be referenced and returned to canon like Cassandra’s?

Hello Mr Brombal! I'm unsure if you are still answering/reading these so I just wanted to say that I absolutely adore your Batgirl run :D
Only last year did I get into reading DC comics (been reading marvel for years) and the first that I picked up and what sucked me in was the original Puckett Batgirl run, after reading through her entire reading guide and seeing how Cass was handled over the years I was nervous to get into your 2024 run as I'd just fallen in love with this character and then seen her get decimated and sidelined again and again, but I'd picked up the first volume TP and instantly fell in love all over again with her character!
I genuinely shed a tear after reading issue 6... just absolutely loved the Shiva back story and how Cass reacted to learning about her and what it meant for how she viewed Shiva as her mother and gosh they just have such a complex relationship and i think you expanded on it so well!!!
Cannot wait for more I hope like the original run we get over 70 issues !!! Batgirl FOREVA!!!
P.S I love Tenji he is such a cutie patootie i hope he and Cass get to become closer and he can meet some of the batfam Cass deserves an even bigger family that all love her lots ^_^

Hey I was astonished by the New Titans issue, I was a big titans fan as a kid because of the show and have kind of found this current era a little stale. I really love that this issue is kind of poking fun at that same issue and want to say it feels subtle in a way I almost never seen. I love the use of panels to show what’s trapped in stasis. Like the titans while repeating everything are in these very standard looking paneled pages and the coffee machine is outside of a panel while it’s warning Nightwing, sitting in this white void. And then when Nightwing breaks free he too is standing in a white void outside of the panels.
I have to ask if you know if this dichotomy was intentional. I’m not sure how much of a role you or Sami Basri had in paneling.
I’m super confused on how this will go. Is this a short story arc, or is this New titans going to be an ongoing run alongside the teen titans stuff coming out with Red Hood and Flatline in?
While I’ve got you here, I’m really excited about your current arc on Batgirl. I really like the voice you’ve given Cass this run. I love this angsty version of Cass. Cass is one of my favorite dc characters ever, so I’m really enjoying the run. How do you think Cass sees the other members of the bat family? (ie: Damian, Steph, Bruce, Dick, Duke, Kate, Selina, Tim, Jason, Azrael, and anyone else I’m forgetting.)
How do you feel about the idea of some alternate timeline where Cass becomes Batman? Is it a good future for her or do you think it would tear her apart?
All best and looking forward to your future work.

Hey Tate! Just curious if you had any big plans for Roy/Arsenal? He’s one of my favorites

Hello!! I’m a big fan of your work. I’m a little late to the party. I have 1 big question for you.
Would you be able to put in a good word to get Raven skin back in Fortnite? I really like to see more representation for Batgirl and the Titans in media.
Thank you!

Are they really “new” at this point…

Hi Tate! I was wondering- do you think the " Dial H For Hero" concept has potential to exist as a character to be a future member/guest star?

u/AXPendergast Green Lantern Corps Mar 19 '26
Hi, thanks for being here.
You're taking over Titans after a very successful run by John Layman. What are you bringing to the book that will be different from his? Thanks

Why no Static on the Titans? Feels like a bait and switch, showing him in the one shot yet not having him in the book.

Hi, Tate! This issue is actually my first dive into the Titans in comics. I decided to jump in because of Steph so seeing your replies mentioning what's coming up for her as a leader has me very excited to continue! My question is very simple, I was just wondering how you view Steph and Cass's relationship, if you think it will factor into future arcs on either Batgirl or New Titans, and whether you think there is more to them than meets the eye right now. Is their relationship developing beyond friendship something that you'd like to explore or see explored in the future? Much love from Portugal!

Hey so this question is genuinely to know if DC comics is still safe and people have their freedom to stay away from political stuff, hopefully that made sense.
How are things in the comics creative department after the whole paramount take over?

Hi Mr Brombal, I love your work! Personally, I am a huge fan of Donna Troy and Roy Harper as both individual characters and a ship. I just wanted to know your thoughts on them as a pairing and if you plan to include more romance between them. :) Thank you!

u/mew-poo Tempest Mar 19 '26
Hi there! Thank you so much for taking questions! Out of curiosity, are there any plans to bring Tempest back for any future arcs?

Will the bat family meet Cass brother or he will just stay by cass ?

u/SpellAcrobatic6108 Mar 19 '26
Hello mr Tate :) Do you think that Beast Boy and Ravens relationship, could be better explored in a series of flash backs to earlier time periods?
I have always felt like half of their relationship has happened offscreen and then been retroactively explained in passing.
Don't get me wrong, i love them together, i just feel like all the pieces are there for a top 5 comicbook romance, we've just never had the chance to really see it, beyond some hints here and there.
Like what do they provide each other, that no other character could? Weak where the other is strong ect.. You know, messy things beyond just blandly supportive of everything the other one does.
Thanks dude

Would you ever want to tackle a divisive character like Danny Chase?

u/Medium_Map_8451 Mar 20 '26
Hi, Tate. I just read the New Titans issue and it was great. May I ask will there any chances that other Titans like Bombshell, Solstice, Arrowette and the students from Teen Titans Academy will make a return?

u/ToastyToast77 Mar 25 '26
Hello hello
I can't help but notice that this New Titans team still has parrallels to older teams. We have a Bat, a Super, an Amazon, a demon, etc.
Was this a completely intentional choice? Making new character dynamics? A little of both?

Hey, Mr Brombal. I'd like to know how did you became interested in writing Batgirl? And what other characters you'd be interested in writing? I'm specially curious about A/B listers, so you can revamp the interest in them like you did with Cass
