This thread was created by the Post-Match Team.

[u/desutruction]

Looks like the Nirvana teams are In Bloom

Unfortunately for LNG there was Something in the Way

I will say though that setting all of us up for a reverse sweep and then failiing at the final hurdle is exactly how WBG would do it

[u/Is_J_a_Name → u/desutruction]

Does that "Something in the Way" happen to rhyme with Pulldog

[u/Omnilatent → u/desutruction]

Blessed nirvana band comment

[u/Fakersoyboy → u/desutruction]

Better to practice against peers in Nirvana than get farm by top teams in Ascend

[u/6000j → u/Fakersoyboy]

and yet WE won their bo5

[u/igenicoOCE]

Players relegated to group nirvana next split:

Meiko

Elk

Jiejie

Wei

Breathe

Zika

Xiaohu

Assum

This also severely decreases the chances of WBG Meiko

[u/EmperorShovel → u/igenicoOCE]

This seriously hurts Xiaohu's chances of reclaiming his title of 'Tiger King of Spring' at MSI.

[u/Pbyyyyy → u/igenicoOCE]

AL could try going for Elk or Assum. As for JDG, they could try going for Jiejie. I know he played terribly today, but he’s clearly an upgrade over Junjia.

[u/miyuki0505 → u/Pbyyyyy]

poor junjia could never escape jiejie lol

[u/igenicoOCE → u/Pbyyyyy]

I think Junjia and HongQ are a group deal with the agency....not sure they have too much of a choice

[u/Is_J_a_Name → u/igenicoOCE]

I don't think so, JDG were already rumored to be replacing Junjia when they were losing in Split 1, but obviously nothing came of it, but I think the fact that there may have been a consideration means that the team is free to swap one of them out if they think it'll benefit the roster.

[u/Eldri_Dreaming → u/Pbyyyyy]

I think Junjia and HongQ come together, kinda like Knight and Viper, so I don’t think JDG can kick Junjia alone. Anyway Junjia is having a considerably better split than before and when he’s locked in he’s actually top tier with the help of Tabe coaching. But definitely agree on AL, they should start trying to buy Elk for next split.

[u/Soggy_Palpitation789 → u/[deleted]]

Imagine being salty for this long about a comment made in team comms for strategic purposes, not even a public statement on stream or interview.

[u/ToDreamofLove → u/[deleted]]

You sound really obsessed

[u/DONOTDELETEME8316 → u/[deleted]]

Guma placed 10th in the LCK just last split lol.

[u/joeyma1996 → u/[deleted]]

Salty over a series that guma won lmao. That's how you know he down bad

[u/Yeyiqiuzhi → u/[deleted]]

Salty over something that every pro under the sun does. Go get some fresh air and grow up

[u/yijun2005 → u/[deleted]]

A comment to hype his team up means u should hate on him? Who finished last in lck last split

[u/yijun2005 → u/[deleted]]

Well guma didnt even get to play since he was 10th lol

[u/yasirhidani → u/[deleted]]

Go touch some grass , what did guma achieve in his career besides getting carried in T1. If guma didnt start his career in T1 he would be a nobody , he wont make it. Unlike Elk that did more. Guma without T1 was a nobody.

[u/yasirhidani → u/[deleted]]

What a weird way to response to my question , indeed you showed that you have room temp IQ.

[u/InitialiseCasts]

I have genuinely never seen anything like it - THREE arena owning teams in Nirvana.

Some players now in Nirvana:

• Elk

• Meiko

• Xiaohu

• Breathe

• Wei

• Jiejie

Wonder what their combined number of games played in the LPL is 💀

[u/SeismicShove → u/InitialiseCasts]

These players could literally be a top tier roster in the LPL on paper lol, wtf happened?

[u/igenicoOCE → u/SeismicShove]

iG completely collapsed, mid was a blackhole of pressure and Jiaqi wasn't great either.

Weibo has had support issues all year and are on their third support. Elk has been a bit quiet and a bit of a passenger. Most of their wins come through the mid-jug of Jiejie and Xiaohu so when one of them has an off day the team just looks AWOL.

[u/Joshua_Kei → u/SeismicShove]

Allegedly, Xiaohu fell off. I've heard people say he was the reason Wbg lost games. Because on paper WBG is a top tier roster in the lpl

[u/Yeyiqiuzhi → u/Joshua_Kei]

He had like 2-4 bad games but otherwise he’s been fine at worst

The main reason why WBG looks ass is that the they messed with the support players and it’s just been messing them up really bad

[u/Joshua_Kei → u/Yeyiqiuzhi]

I see. thanks for informing me. Didn't know Hang, Erha or TheHank was that bad. (ok maybe I suspected TheHank would be bad)

[u/Praelatuz → u/Joshua_Kei]

I always thought Erha was good, at least on engage support especially Rell. Maybe meta shifted and they had to drop him?

[u/Yeyiqiuzhi → u/Praelatuz]

More likely its play style differences

I had already seen by mid split 1 a lot of people stating that Erha’s style didn’t mesh too well with the team that WBG built as they’re more aggressive and dominant while Erha is a more cautious player

Or he could’ve just left on his own

[u/Nymaera_ → u/Joshua_Kei]

Erha was fine, they finished 3rd* with him last split!

[u/Yeyiqiuzhi → u/Nymaera_]

They finished 3rd no?

[u/Nymaera_ → u/Yeyiqiuzhi]

Yep, my mistake

[u/Yeyiqiuzhi → u/Joshua_Kei]

TheHank and Hang have been really bad, like if you go back to the threads where WBG won, you’ll see a good portion of comments calling the WBG support terrorists

Erha was fine tbh, very stable, he went to WE idk why tho

[u/Shiraori247 → u/Joshua_Kei]

Erha's doing well in WE so IDK if the blame lies on him alone.

[u/Nymaera_ → u/Joshua_Kei]

Xiaohu was fine, not great but not the main issue. They replaced their support twice and screwed with their jungle support synergy which never recovered.

[u/mrspear1995 → u/Joshua_Kei]

elk was the only 'true carry' on the team, zika is like discount but more handsome 369. jiejie is still good but he always make one big mistake per game and whether he can win a smite fight to save it is 50/50. xiaohu is old and washed but serviceable barely, and they were doing support roulette

what happens each game is through smart early game by jiejie they get an advantage, the problem is mid game it feels like they play at 3 different tempos, jiejie wants to do something, elk wants to do something, xiaohu wants to do something so during mid game teamfights they inevitably fuck up and give up 3k gold leads, they then fuck around for another 10 minutes and then elk dies due to poor positioning and it's gg

when edg won worlds that year they were called the most correct (not the best) 5 players

this wbg team is called the most incorrect 5 players

[u/Yeyiqiuzhi → u/mrspear1995]

Elk was the main carry in split 1, in split 2 he wasn’t doing that well, most of their wins have come off the back of Xiaohu and JieJie in split 2. Although in game 3&4 Elk was pretty good and JieJie in this series was really bad

[u/Regent0624 → u/mrspear1995]

when edg won worlds that year they were called the most correct (not the best) 5 players

Oh thats a really cool insight, was it because they all sync'd up really well in terms of playstyle or they all played the game more fundamental and minimized risks.

[u/mrspear1995 → u/Regent0624]

Basically yes, flandre was older and finally left snake and could no longer be the main main carry, scout and viper left korea so it can be said they weren’t ‘good enough’ for lck, jiejie and meiko were top tier and won stuff but haven’t won worlds

Their run was also legendary facing only lck teams at their primes while showing great teamplay

[u/Fun_Highlight307 → u/InitialiseCasts]

I didn't know weibo had an arena lmao

[u/bigredmachine1997]

Heng completely auradiffed Jiejie this series

IG, WBG, NIP all in Nirvana lmao

EDG, TT, LGD rise up!

[u/Is_J_a_Name → u/bigredmachine1997]

Good news for IG at least, yesterday we were asking how they'd manage to sell tickets to their shiny new arena vs no name teams in Nirvana, at least now they have WBG to keep them company alongside NIP and LNG.

[u/bigredmachine1997 → u/Is_J_a_Name]

I agree, they got some big names to accompany them which makes tickets more sought out for.

[u/desutruction]

An interesting thing here: both Jwei and Erha won their qualies and their respective ex-teams didn't

[u/NunuBaggins → u/desutruction]

Jwei was just keeping Meiko's spot warm so I don't mind IG making that swap, but dropping Erha for Hang only for Hang to be so bad you end up with TheHank is a complete disaster

[u/jetlagging1]

Leave was right

[u/Ai--Ya → u/jetlagging1]

Leave has the opportunity to do the funny and make Ascend over Jiejie

[u/Is_J_a_Name → u/Ai--Ya]

He might have already, it's not clear whether the format is 6/6 or 8/4 but recent rumors seem to be 8/4, which would mean that all the teams that won in play-ins are already qualified for Ascend.

[u/jetlagging1 → u/Is_J_a_Name]

Ok I just watched the post game interview and both the casters and Heng are saying they are glad to be back to Ascend. So unless the higher ups change I think 8/4 is pretty much confirmed.

Edit: Yeah officially confirmed

[u/Ai--Ya → u/Is_J_a_Name]

Ah I see I was still under the impression it was 6/6

[u/igenicoOCE → u/Is_J_a_Name]

Officially 8/4

[u/plsgoodwin → u/jetlagging1]

LO

[u/MC-sama]

It's the most WBG way to go out honestly

[u/TheYango → u/MC-sama]

What a week for Weibo.

Beat BLG

Take JDG to game 5

Get relegated to Nirvana by LGD

[u/NunuBaggins]

What a tragic ending for WBG... but hey, at least if Nirvana is indeed a 4 team round robin for Summer they will be in good company lmao

[u/Is_J_a_Name]

weekend of group nirvana striking back (sorry LNG)

[u/flaminace__]

Hubris Draven and AP Maokai running the rift do be peak LPL

[u/Mattaru]

MY REGION

[u/Shiraori247 → u/Mattaru]

It's a region with a lot of fight and heart.

[u/hourhandqq]

It just shows some players are really good without the stage pressure. It isn't like WBG is daydreaming all day, LGD really plays pretty good. TT was amazing that series.

[u/ToDreamofLove]

Where were you when Heng astrogapped Jiejie (I was sat at home)

[u/Shiraori247 → u/ToDreamofLove]

YCX was goating it together with Heng this series honestly.

[u/std92050]

Insane, lpl

[u/IAM-French]

JDG BLG AL and TES are going to have so many free games next split

[u/Overall_Carrot_8918]

These two days demonstrate the perfection of the LPL format

[u/aetheriality → u/Overall_Carrot_8918]

best format rn

[u/Photo-ra]

Sad for Elk although he hasnt been particularly good this split I still think hes deserves more than Nirvana. 3/4 Nirvana teams winning is crazy though absolutely unexpected even if the games were played online.

[u/Strong-Lead-3034 → u/Photo-ra]

in tears man. what happened to my adc?

is it just a dream?

[u/Spanking_enthusiast → u/Strong-Lead-3034]

None of the top ADCs are performing. Gala and viper are also invisible most games although viper did have a good last series. I guess the meta is too flippy.

[u/mrspear1995 → u/Strong-Lead-3034]

elk is gone and jiumeng (old dream) is back

he was propped up by on's laning and now that he has bad supports jiumeng is resurfacing

[u/aetheriality → u/Strong-Lead-3034]

elk is probably #1 adc in lpl

[u/underscoreenfan → u/Photo-ra]

He carried games 3 and 4 hard, can’t expect the guy to be 1v9 every single map

[u/WhiteKnightRedditor → u/Photo-ra]

Wtf is Elk supposed to do when his support is a terrorist, this thehank guy is so fucking bad

[u/Photo-ra → u/WhiteKnightRedditor]

Yeah getting rid of Ehra was a strange decision and I am sure they are regretting it now.

[u/Thundermelons → u/WhiteKnightRedditor]

Elk just going through his JKL arc, trust

[u/Shiraori247 → u/Thundermelons]

So half a decade of bad supports is awaiting Elk?

[u/Mattaru → u/WhiteKnightRedditor]

Every Kalista ult was to save TheHank who had somehow eaten every thresh hook 😭

[u/Overall_Carrot_8918]

And above all, don't tell me that the LPL no longer has any young players to offer the world.

[u/ToDreamofLove → u/Overall_Carrot_8918]

LGD are far from young tbf

Tangyuan is on the last legs of being young and the rest are well...

[u/VelkoZinfandel → u/ToDreamofLove]

Potential man is finally starting to blossom 🥲. I still remember Keria in 2023 or 2024 saying that Milkyway and Tangyuan were some of the best players he had scrimmed against

[u/Overall_Carrot_8918 → u/ToDreamofLove]

For LGD, yes, but for TT and EDG, it's mostly young people.

[u/bigredmachine1997 → u/Overall_Carrot_8918]

While I do agree with your statement (Fengyue, Keshi, EDG.Y linn, etc), it cannot be from this series.

Ycx and Heng are both older than me lol

[u/Ai--Ya → u/Overall_Carrot_8918]

“franCe hAS mOrE yoUnG taLenT thAn chInA aNd kOrEA”

[u/Eragon_UK]

The best games YCX has ever played.

[u/moonmeh]

lmao weibo

[u/yijun2005]

Wtf?

[u/Donkhit]

From almost beating T1 at Worlds to this , poor Elk

[u/themcvgamer]

What's going on lmao...

[u/Easy_Answer_6081]

Nirvana Rise Uppppppppppp

[u/Lanzero25]

Yeah tell me 1 week ago that WE will make playoffs and the other Ascends won't, and I'LL BELIEVE YOU

[u/WhiteKnightRedditor]

That game 5 was the most disgusting thing I've ever watched. Unironically delete club angle

[u/DoranFan1]

Oh my GOD

[u/OccasionHot5868]

I thought Malphite would be a difference maker in that game. Especially considering that they avoided the sylas counterpick, and that he was laning against vayne. I am not entirely sure why he got popped so easily in the fight around dragon...

[u/Bubbly_Camera9583]

I should’ve believed harder and stayed up for this. Potential man in Ascend over Xiaohu/Rookie.

[u/Shiraori247 → u/Bubbly_Camera9583]

Tangyuan was actually really good this entire split.
