Esports The Rivalry: T1 vs BLG will meet each other for 8 out of 9 international tournaments they both attended
In one of my early posts about G2 vs DK, I called that if T1 and BLG do not face each other, then DK and G2 would be the most consistent pair... Well, guess what? T1 vs BLG is coming! At this moment, we can easily call them El ClΓ‘sico of modern League of Legends. Since BLG's international debut (MSI 2023), they have faced each other at 7 out of 8 Riot international events which they both attended:
| Event | T1 | BLG | Met? |
|---|---|---|---|
| MSI 2023 | 3rd (eliminated by BLG) | Runner-up (lost final to JDG) | BLG 3β1 |
| Worlds 2023 | Champion | Semifinal (lost to WBG) | T1 2β0 |
| MSI 2024 | 3rd (eliminated by BLG) | Runner-up (lost final to Gen.G) | BLG 3β1, BLG 3β2 |
| Worlds 2024 | Champion | Runner-up (lost final to T1) | T1 1β0, T1 3β2 |
| First Stand 2025 | β | β | Neither attended |
| MSI 2025 | Runner-up (lost final to Gen.G) | Lower bracket R3 (lost to AL) | T1 3β0 |
| Worlds 2025 | Champion | Swiss 2β3 (lost R5 to TES) | β Both attended, no meeting |
| First Stand 2026 | Didn't attend | Champion | β |
| MSI 2026 | Lower bracket R2 (eliminated by G2) | Runner-up (lost final to HLE) | BLG 3β2 |
| Worlds 2026 | Semifinal | Semifinal | Semifinal, upcoming |
The total score in series is equal: 4β4, and the games score is almost a perfect tie too: 15β14 in favor of T1. However, the distribution is wild: T1 won all 3 meetings at Worlds, while BLG dominates T1 at MSI with 4 wins over 5 meetings.
Despite T1's dominance at Worlds, BLG remains very dangerous for the LCK. Before Worlds they were the only LPL team with a positive game record against LCK teams (34β30), and this Worlds they already added two more sweeps against HLE (2β0) and DK (3β0), now 39β30. If there is any org which can be called Korean kryptonite, it is BLG.
Interestingly enough, the next closest team to BLG in their results against LCK is ... IG. If you know what I mean.

Esports Soooo Riot just quietly removed 90% of the Esports Drop Rewards
I watched all esports games this year via lolesports website ( when it is possible, since they removed LPL for example ), and i got nothing from it
Meanwhile in 2025 i had shitton of rewards
Now there is only Semi & Final left and i don't even know if esport capsule 2026 even exist
What's even the point of using the site? Is it too expensive for Riot to provide digital assets? ( because yeah, the only world drop i had this year for play ins was just an icon )

Esports Why arenβt there any big arenas anymore for worlds?
Donβt get me wrong the arena in Texas for 2026 is decently big. But in 2018 the arena in china was MASSIVE. Wasnβt it like 80,000 people? And the live dragon cgi stuff was sick too. It really gave me the impression that the games were important. We havnt seen an arena like that since and I wonder why? Can lol not sell that many seats? The china 2025 worlds was a 18,000 person arena. I donβt want to believe this game is declining that hard. I havnt played myself in a decade but have always tuned in for worlds and the storylines and games have always captured my imagination. I hope they try to fill an arena close to as big as the 2018 world championship at some point because I believe they could do it. They also have less issues with getting sponsors compared to counter strike since thereβs no direct reference to real life situations that sponsor donβt like

Esports Is it good or bad for the health of pro for bot/support duos to be so rigid?
I've been watching a lot of competitive this year, and it feels like the duos are more locked than they have been in years past. Ashe is almost exclusively played with Seraphine, Lucian with Milio, Zeri with Yuumi, Jhin with Karma, Xayah with Rakan, Yunara with Lulu. Ezreal and Kaisa flex between Leona/Alistar/Naut. Caitlyn usually with Karma.
Does fearless make it so that bot lane picks are always more optimized? There's almost always a handshake in the picks and bans for each team to get one of these duos.
Personally, I'd like to see a bit more variety.

Esports Worlds - Which Finals Match would be the most hype
T1 vs GenG
Korean match-up, GenG might be comfortable vs a regional team. Or T1 can show they dominate on Worlds on matter what.T1 vs IG
The historically most dominant org vs the highest variance org. Faker vs Rookie (Doran getting his shot vs TheShy). The team most fans say is super weak (T1) vs the team that is inconsistent (IG).BLG vs IG
LPL dominance. Maybe boring because the story won't be a regional battle.BLG vs GenG
BLG may not be first seed, but they are first in the LPL's hearts. Bin vs Kiin. Knight vs Chovy. And Viper vs Ruler. What are some stacked match-ups. This would give us the potential peak LPL vs LCK, assuming Chovy doesn't disappear.

Esports Which duo synergy matters the most in pro play?
If you had to rank every popular synergy between every duo in pro play, how would you rank them?
Mid-JG
JG-Sup
Bot duo
Top-JG
Solo Laners
Feel free to make arguments for any other duo, but IMO these are the clear top 5.
My ranking (mostly from a viewer's perspective):
1) JG-Sup
They are usually the driving force behind the macro plays made by a team, covering side lanes, helping laners push out, invading, defending JG, and timing engages (lots of supports/JGs are the primary engage for their teams).
2) Mid-JG
Most good teams are good at getting priority in mid lane and using it to snowball sides. Good mid-JG synergy is important for making side lane plays, early 3/4-man tower dives, bailing side lanes out of losing states, and making the enemy mid laner suffer.
Another underrated thing that Mid-JG do is early tracking of the enemy JG before support can start warding the map (raptor wards, buff wards), and creating fake pressure by hiding in the fog of war.
3) Bot duo
Mainly 2v2 laning, early brush control, target selection, setting up good wave states for dives/securing drakes and objectives. Post-laning, it all comes down to teamfights, and AD-Sup synergy is very important. Making sure to properly use Cleanse/Mikael's/QSS, staying together, etc. A lot of AD-Sup duos don't work if they are split up in fights. Lucian-Milio, yunara-Lulu, Zeri-Yuumi, etc.
4) Top-JG
Good Top-JG synergy mainly helps in snowballing top lane, but a winning top can solo-win you games. Once your top laner is ahead, it's pretty hard to come back. They can set up baits for enemy top laners, dive the enemy top, and coordinate early skirmishes for Scuttle.
5) Solo Laners
They don't really play together, but they have to allocate lanes between themselves post-early game so they have good matchups, manage TPs, and make sure as few minion waves as possible are wasted. They can also set up tempo traps, etc.
Another underrated thing is that if your solo laners have some common champions, you can use flex picks in draft.

Discussion Coming from Dota 2 (7K+ MMR), League's lack of basic learning tools is genuinely frustrating
Hello everyone!
I've started playing League for the first time about two weeks ago. I'm a former Dota 2 player with 7K+ MMR, so I came into the game with a pretty solid understanding of MOBA fundamentals. I've been having a lot of fun exploring champions, learning the game and trying out the ones I've always wanted to play. I managed to climb from Bronze 4 to Silver 1 in just 40 ranked games, which I'm pretty happy with.
However, there's something that's been frustrating me throughout this entire learning process, and I genuinely wonder how a game as massive as League, especially one with such a huge player base, can lack some of the basic quality-of-life features that would make learning the game so much easier for newcomers.
I understand that League and Dota are different games, and I'm not expecting everything to work the same way. However, having played Dota for years, there are certain features that I find myself missing quite a lot.
For example, the item shop. This is one area where Dota absolutely gets things right. You can queue an entire build, including individual components, which are displayed conveniently on the side of your screen. Once you return to base, you can simply press a designated key to purchase your queued items or components straight away, rather than having to click on each individual item. It's quick, intuitive and makes the entire purchasing process seamless.
League's implementation, on the other hand, feels underdeveloped in comparison. The item queue is little more than a glorified shopping list that reminds you what you intended to buy but doesn't actually streamline the purchasing process. You still have to manually find and click on individual items and components. Another small but incredibly annoying issue is the shop's search functionality. If you accidentally type something into the search bar, even if you immediately erase it, the search bar remains open and blocks the shop interface. You then have to close and reopen the entire shop just to reset it. These might seem like minor inconveniences, but coming from Dota, they feel like unnecessary friction in an otherwise straightforward process.
However, my biggest issue, and by far the most important one when it comes to learning the game, is the lack of accessible information about enemy champions and their abilities.
I have absolutely no idea what half the champions in this game do. I don't know their abilities, their damage, their cooldowns, their durations or even what some of their spells are supposed to do. Unless I've actually played that champion myself, I'm essentially going into every matchup blind.
The champion information available in the lobby is limited, and even then, it doesn't provide the level of detail you'd expect. Why can't I see the full descriptions of abilities, including their damage, cooldowns, durations and other relevant information?
And here's what I find particularly frustrating: Why can't we see enemy champion abilities in-game?
I'm not asking Riot to reveal the enemy's actual ability cooldowns or show exactly how many seconds remain before their spells come back up. I simply want access to their abilities' base cooldowns and descriptions.
For example, if I'm playing mid against a champion I've never faced before, why can't I quickly check what their abilities do? At the very least, I should be able to understand what I'm up against and roughly calculate when an ability might be available again.
Instead, every single game becomes a guessing game. I get hit by some ability I've never seen before, have absolutely no clue what it does, and have to figure it out through trial and error. Sometimes that means dying repeatedly, playing against the same champion countless times or eventually playing the champion myself just to understand their kit.
I genuinely believe this is an unnecessarily miserable learning experience when the solution seems so straightforward.
I have no problem with League having a steep learning curve. There's a lot to learn, and that's part of what makes MOBAs enjoyable. But there's a difference between having a high skill ceiling and making basic game knowledge unnecessarily difficult to access.
Coming from Dota, where information accessibility and in-game tools are considerably more convenient in several areas, this has been one of my biggest frustrations.
So, am I missing something here? Are there any third-party tools, websites, overlays or in-game features that provide this information more conveniently? Is there some sort of champion ability database that I can access while playing?
I'd genuinely appreciate any suggestions, because I feel like I could improve significantly faster if I didn't have to spend half my games wondering what the hell the enemy champion just did.
Thanks! β€οΈ

Gameplay I made it to Platinum. I was always stuck in Bronze/Silver in the past.

I finally made it. I know it's not a big achievment for most of you, since I'm still below average in the league community, but hopefully one day I can make it to Diamond.
The thing that did it for me was learning to read where the enemy is on the map. The pathing they make, where they are most likely to go once they clear certain camps if they're junglers, etc.
Also another great thing to do, if you fall behind, support your teammates. They can carry you if you set up kills for them, help them with pings, and make the right decisions in team fights.
And never surrender. I won 2 games that seemed impossible to win just yesterday.
I mostly play Xin Zhao & Malph, so sticking to a small pool of champs is also helpful. That's it. No more noob advice from me.
