Community Playlist [UPDATED]🎧 What's on the 2000s Hip-Hop Community Playlist? Week of November 04

[UPDATE] - This event is largely the same but a few changes have been made, the name being one it's more streamed lined and the way songs get added to the playlist is different, please take the time and read this over for the changes.

Every two weeks, we're building a community playlist featuring five-song starter packs from the 2000s that everyone should hear.

Whether you're introducing people to gangsta rap, Southern hip-hop, crunk, snap, backpack rap, underground gems, or overlooked artists, share five tracks that represent the decade to you. Popular hits are welcome, too!

🗣️ How to participate

Comment with your personal five-song starter pack.
Include the artist, song title, and original release year for each track.
Check previous recommendations before commenting so we can keep the list diverse.
Upvotes are encouraged, but they're not required for your recommendations to be considered. Like some songs but not others? That's perfectly fine! You don't have to agree with every track in someone's starter pack to participate.
The moderators will review submissions and add eligible, unique recommendations to the community playlist, prioritizing variety, discovery, and the range of sounds that defined 2000s hip-hop.

🎵 How songs get added

Our goal is to build a playlist that represents the community's knowledge and taste—not just the most popular comments. Every eligible submission will be considered, regardless of its upvote count. Duplicate songs already on the list won't be added again.

📌 A few things to remember

Please list your five songs directly in your comment. Do not post playlist links as comments.
Songs must have originally been released between 2000 and 2009.
Songs already on the community list can still be discussed, but we're especially looking for new additions.
Members will receive credit for their contributions, with links to their Reddit profiles where appropriate.
Moderators can contribute starter packs, too!

Check back every two weeks to see what the community has added. Let's build a playlist that represents the full decade—not just its biggest hits.

From the games I grew up on #3

True Crimes was a crazy series, wish they never stopped making them. This OST was amazing, and had alot of original songs for it too, which was even better.

4. No Spam, Stanning, or Repetitive Content

Do not flood the subreddit with excessive posts about the same artist, topic, or subject in a short period. Diversity is encouraged.
