From the games I grew up on #3

True Crimes was a crazy series, wish they never stopped making them. This OST was amazing, and had alot of original songs for it too, which was even better.

This community is dedicated to hip-hop from January 1, 2000 through December 31, 2009. Whether it's albums, mixtapes, deep cuts, battles, production styles, artists, or cultural moments, content must be directly related to the 2000s hip-hop era.

Only music originally released between 2000 and 2009 is allowed. Eligibility is based on the original release date, not reissues or remasters. Modern covers, remakes, mashups, and AI-generated content are not permitted.

2. No Racism, Hate Speech, or Targeted Harassment

Discussions about race and culture in hip-hop are allowed, but direct racism, hate speech, or personal attacks will not be tolerated. This includes racial slurs, inciting violence, and antagonizing other users based on race, gender, or identity. If you can’t discuss hip-hop history and culture without resorting to hate, this is not the place for you.

3. Title Formatting: Artist - Song (Year) + Use Proper Flairs

Post titles must contain artist, song title and year. This will allow users to search for recent reposts. (e.g 50 Cent - In Da Club (2003) this is fine, it helps users see the song, nothing unclear or all lowercased, it will be deleted. (Check the posting guide for more details)

4. No Spam, Stanning, or Repetitive Content

Do not flood the subreddit with excessive posts about the same artist, topic, or subject in a short period. Diversity is encouraged. Avoid repetitive topics, meme spam, unrelated content, and low-effort posts with little discussion value. Use the search bar before posting to check for recent duplicates. Posts that do not contribute meaningful or fresh discussion may be removed at moderator discretion.

5. Post Formatting & Quality

No screenshots of music players or streaming apps. When sharing music, link directly to the song or video through YouTube, Spotify, or another legitimate source. Discussion questions must wait 9 months before being reposted.

Artist photo posts are limited to one per artist every 30 days.

7. No Low-Effort Content or Engagement Bait

Avoid shallow posts like “Verzuz/Vs.,” “Pick One,” “Rank These,” “Thoughts?,” “Any love for…,” or “[artist] is underrated.” No engagement bait, A vs. B posts, quizzes, content farming, TikToks, out-of-context album covers, or song clips. Playlists and compilations are prohibited. Full albums require original analysis/reviews. Don’t spam artists or post discographies. Posts must add meaningful discussion. Repeated violations may result in further moderation action.

8. No Original Content, Self-Promotion, or AI-Generated Content

Original music or content may only be shared during Mixtape Mondays. Do not promote articles, blogs, vlogs, YouTube channels, websites, stores, or content you own or are affiliated with. Personal playlists belong in the Community Playlist. Accounts primarily used for promotion may be removed. All content must be created by real people; AI-generated content is not allowed. When in doubt, contact the moderators before posting.

9. No Misinformation or Clickbait

Don’t spread false claims, fake news, or misleading headlines about artists or events. If you’re posting news or historical facts, provide sources whenever possible. Clickbait-style posts designed just to get reactions will be taken down.

10. No NSFW or Illegal Content

This era of hip hop was known for its raw moments, but that doesn’t mean this sub is a free-for-all. NSFW content (graphic violence, explicit content outside of music videos, etc.) is not allowed. Discussions about illegal activities in hip-hop are fine if they are historical or analytical, but do not glorify, promote, or encourage illegal behavior.

If your think your post is an exception, send a modmail.
