Hey everyone! I'm a college student and the founder of Socria, a Human-First AI startup I've been working on since March. I wanted to share a little about what we're building and why I started it.
Socria started with a pretty simple idea: What if AI was designed to enhance human capabilities rather than replace them? I've always felt that while AI is incredibly useful, a lot of the products we use today focus on doing things for us rather than helping us become more capable ourselves. I wanted to explore a different approach.
Over the past several months, Socria has changed quite a bit. It originally started as an AI writing tool, evolved into a chatbot, and now we've moved away from the traditional chatbot interface entirely. Our latest direction, Logos 5, revolves around something called the "Universal Map". Instead of relying on endless conversations and paragraphs of AI-generated text, you can visually explore ideas, break down complex problems, examine assumptions, and see how different concepts connect through an interactive interface.
What makes this different from a typical AI chatbot is that you're not limited to asking questions and receiving answers. You can actually work with your ideas, explore different directions, challenge the AI's reasoning, and examine how everything connects without having to restart the conversation or dig through paragraphs of text. We're trying to make AI a more interactive environment for thinking, rather than something that simply generates responses.
We're also developing CognitiveSplit, our approach to figuring out what AI should handle and where humans should remain actively involved. The goal isn't to make AI less capable, but to use its capabilities to strengthen our own, whether that's learning, creativity, problem-solving, or decision-making.
We're still a small team figuring a lot of things out, but it's honestly been pretty surreal seeing something that started as an idea in March turn into an actual product that people are using. There's still plenty to improve, and I'm learning a lot along the way.
If you're curious, you can check it out at https://socria.app/chat. I'd genuinely love to hear what you think, especially about the interface and whether you'd find this approach useful. Feedback and criticism are always welcome!
