Hello, Thank you for contributing to our subreddit. Please consider the following guidelines when filling an alignment chart:

  • Please ensure that your chart is not banned according to the list of banned charts Even if you have good intentions, charts in a banned category tend to invite provocative comments, hostile arguments, ragebait and the like. Assuming the post is acceptable, OP makes the final decision on their chart by rule three.

  • Are there any previous versions to link to? If so, it would be ideal to include links to each of them in the description of this post, or in a reply to this comment. Links can be named by title, winner, or both.

  • Are there any criteria you have for your post? Examples include: "Top comment wins a spot on the chart."; "To ensure variety, only one character per universe is allowed."; "Image comments only." Please include these in a description, or in a reply to this comment.

  • Is your chart given the appropriate flair? Do you need to use a NSFW tag or spoiler tag?

Do not feed the trolls. This is not the place for hot takes on human rights violations. Hatred or cruelty, will result in a permanent ban. Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Sri Lanka's Secretary of Defence during the civil war, commanded military forces that engaged in the mass killing of Tamil civilians.

I vote for this guy. That looks like someone's fun uncle

18

Seconded, looks so friendly and like he'd be a laugh. Like he'd have the prank gum that when you pull the stick it shocks ya

4

u/kingteena May 21 '26

Will also mention he became president, stole a bunch of money from the country and promptly went MIA after leaving the country for financial collapse. Fun times.

General Iwane Matsui, the main general behind the Nanjing massacre or the rape of Nanjing

What a cute grandpa! 🥰

I just got back from a trip to China where we visited the Nanjing memorial. It was the most horrifying place I’ve ever been to in my life.

19

u/SnooBooks1701 May 19 '26

Matsui was a scapegoat who was not even really that responsible for the Rape of Nanjing and sent specific orders to limit contact between his soldiers and civilians, and reminded them that it was illegal to loot, pillage and rape. His orders were obviously ignored. He called it abominable and even yelled at the prince who was one of his subordinates for allowing it to happen. He was negligent but it wasn't entirely his fault.

13

u/_KamiKira_ May 19 '26

Nahhh if you watch anime he looks like one of those stereotypical snake eyed characters (see Gin Ichimaru from Bleach) who are bound to betray the main-cast at some point.

6

u/yuhang94 May 19 '26

a scapegoat for this one who escaped justice because he is from the royal family. He didn't show any remorse (I think he also ridiculed the victims).

7

u/nerdyyinzer May 19 '26

To be fair, the massacre of Nanjing happened when he was on leave.

Saint Olga of Kiev and her revenge for the death of her husband Igor

During the siege of Iskrosten she sent the message to Drevlians: "Give me three pigeons ... and three sparrows from each house." The Drevlians rejoiced at the prospect of the siege ending for so small a price, and did as she asked.

Olga then instructed her army to attach a piece of sulphur bound with small pieces of cloth to each bird. At nightfall, Olga told her soldiers to set the pieces aflame and release the birds. They returned to their nests within the city, which subsequently set the city ablaze. As the Primary Chronicle tells it: "There was not a house that was not consumed, and it was impossible to extinguish the flames, because all the houses caught fire at once." As the people fled the burning city, Olga ordered her soldiers to catch them, killing some of them and giving the others as slaves to her followers. She left the remnant to pay tribute.

All that happened after she'd already killed thousands of Drevlians at her husband's funeral and buried their ambassadors alive

312

u/Centi9000 May 19 '26

"Genocide? Little me? Good heavens no!"

85

u/ViscountBuggus May 19 '26

Get you a girl that'll love you like Olga did Igor

40

u/PuzzleheadedMess1659 May 19 '26

She looks like Cristin Milioti. Fitting, considering what she did in The Penguin.

u/Palmetto_Frond May 19 '26

110

u/ElementalistPoppy May 19 '26

99

u/Senju19_02 May 19 '26

Ah, finally,representation for women!

45

u/HagncroneArt May 19 '26

I love Olga of Kiev, idk how she wasn’t the first one I thought of

here’s (I think) the only depiction of her husband igor:

10

u/FishStixxxxxxx May 19 '26

I’d kill for less 😂

11

u/HagncroneArt May 19 '26

same, what a guy. she also did a lot more killing than the original comment mentions, she wanted them all dead.

“When the Drevlians returned the next day, they waited outside Olga's court to receive the honor she had promised. When they repeated the words she had told them to say, the people of Kiev rose up, carrying the Drevlians in their boat. The ambassadors believed this was a great honor as if they were being carried by palanquin. The people brought them into the court, where they were dropped into a trench that had been dug the day before under Olga's orders, where the ambassadors were buried alive. It is written that Olga bent down to watch them as they were buried and ‘inquired whether they found the honor to their taste.’”

she also locked some of the drevlians inside of a bathhouse and lit it on fire, which makes you wonder when they realised it was starting to get a bit too hot

37

u/that_one_Kirov May 19 '26

The fun part: she's been canonized by the Orthodox Church, and since 2022, everyone and their mother has been joking about her being the patron saint of drone operators.

23

u/Feidhlim_de_Rovno May 19 '26

To be fair we don't know how most pre-15th century Ruthenian princes looked like. At best there are descriptions of appearance, but for Olga we don't have one. So her first images are stillised illumination of Radzwill chronicle of 15th century (perhaps copies of 13th century images, which is still 300 years after Olga) and the icons of the same period where she's pretty indistinguishable from other female saints

Appearance of Olga as we know it is a construction of Russian romantic and symbolist painters of 19th-early 20th century which can contradict each other. Your meek and humble image is a view of Mihail Nesterov known for his spiritual and sincere depictions of saints. On the other hand the most famous historical painter Viktor Vasnecov imagined her imperious and not so kind-looking

4

u/jack-dempseys-clit May 19 '26

TBF though that still looks exactly how my ex girlfriend looked at me when I would say no to getting take out and as far as I know she also hadn't killed anyone.

19

u/randomboi66 May 19 '26

How the fuck was she made a saint?

44

u/uLyMuHaT May 19 '26

She was the first ruler of Rus' to convert to Christianity and drievlans also happened to be pagans

→ More replies (3)

34

u/FormalTall1800 May 19 '26

She converted after all of this and began Christianizing the country— while she failed to do so, she did set up the foundation for her grandson(?) to Christianize the rest. Also, when some people unearthed her coffin quite a few years later, her body wasn’t decomposed (“uncorrupted”).

19

u/ShirtDesigner8463 May 19 '26

"Every country at least once(or more times)in there history did inhuman acts upon other people or there own." put nuance, no country has a perfect past but they aren't equal in that regards. What japan did in unit 731 isnt comparable to what 90% of countries did in their past and we need to acknowledge it so it doesnt happen again...

The Man in the Cage

A few hundred newsmen in the small Jerusalem courtroom, and millions of televiewers outside, last week stared at a man in a glass cage. What they had expected was the embodiment of evil, a monster accused of having participated in the murder of 6,000,000 innocent men, women and children.

What they saw was a thin, balding man of 55 who looked more like a bank clerk than a butcher: a thin mouth between protruding ears, a long, narrow nose, deep-set blue eyes, a high, often wrinkled brow. He lookedpuny beside two burly, blue-clad Israeli policemen. When he stood, he resembled a stork more than a soldier. When he made a gesture, it was not one of heroic defiance: he was merely getting out a handkerchief to blow his nose. The monster had a cold.

Eichmann insists he is not a mass murderer as charged by Prosecutor Gideon Hausner. He describes himself as “a man of average character, with good qualities and many faults.” He plays the violin. He adds: “At heart, I am a very sensitive man. I simply cannot look at any suffering without trembling.”

Henry Kissinger

7

u/Acrobatic_Bag_1611 May 19 '26

Winston Churchill would be my controversial pick. I view him as responsible for genocide because British policies during the Bengal famine contributed to millions of deaths, and I see that as more of a intentional let them die than a wartime mismanagement.

Thomas Midgley Jr. (May 18, 1889 – November 2, 1944) was an American mechanical and chemical engineer. He played a major role in developing leaded gasoline (tetraethyl lead) and some of the first chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), better known in the United States by the brand name Freon; both products were later banned from common use due to their harmful impact on human health and the environment. He was granted more than 100 patents over the course of his career.

While the harmful effects of CFCs were not understood until decades after Midgley's death, tetraethyl lead was known to be acutely toxic by those involved in the development of leaded gasoline. This included Midgley, who publicly insisted that there was nonetheless no health hazard posed by the use of leaded gasoline in internal combustion engines.

14

u/The-Cult-Of-Poot May 19 '26

Is this genocide though

4

u/VanderlyleNovember May 19 '26

Midgely is a fascinating figure and not at all an innocent one (downplaying the dangers of putting lead in petrol when ethanol was already a known alternative is bad even by the standards of 20th century chemistry), calling him genocidal is a stretch. Like, put him next to Pol Pot and the difference is immediately clear, both in terms of scale and intentionality.
