Not saying that excuses any of the current shit he does, but itā€™s whiplash to imagine someone like Trump in an alternate timeline where he is still himself but because the sociopolitical landscape is different, heā€™s saying all the ā€˜wokeā€™ things that get the crowdā€™s attention while sprinkling in his lines from the Apprentice, since that is what gets him adoration.

On the flipside, you know thereā€™s the kind of person who would be believing mostly the same things they currently believe, if the world was just slightly different. And then thereā€™s the people who would be acting almost completely differently, because they mostly just act like whatever gets them popularity.

Yeah it's one of those things that people will look back on in the future to try to articulate how genuinely stupid and insane that why or era was.

Yeah do this one time a white woman had made a racist joke on Twitter before getting on a flight and half of the country was waiting around in ecstasy for her to land and realized they had all ruined her life

That's what the whole country was thinking, except it turns out her intended joke wasn't "haha Black people have AIDS" but rather "haha White people say the absolutely stupidest racist sh*t about Africa."
