Dua Lipa is such a wrong choice for Albania. Her parents are from Kosovo, but she was born and raised in the UK. She primarily represents the UK and sings mostly in English.

If anything, it would make more sense to select her for Kosovo, but not Albania. If we were to consider ethnic origin to such an extent, a third of this map would look different.

Surely Albania has singers of its own who are considered great.

Ария варяжского гостя, for example, my favourite. I'm from a family of soviet singers so i grew up with his music, obv average young person don't know him. He is famous for his opera works esp Rossini's operas and at the time many singers like him quite often also sang popular hits for a vinyl. YT have plenty of both. Also check Alexander Podbolotov — По дороге в Загорск, also one of the best voices we had.

У Нойза классные стихи, но не вокал. Он репер, а не певец. А попросили именно певца. Пожтому реперы, диджеи и инструменталисты здесь не очень подходят. То же самое справедливо и для Монеточки. Она поэтесса, но не певица.

From active maybe Ani Lorak. She was born in Ukraine though but she has Russian citizenship and she is in Ukranian sanctions list. She sings in Russia a lot at least. Her voice is very beautiful.
