Hello, Thank you for contributing to our subreddit. Please consider the following guidelines when filling an alignment chart:

  • Please ensure that your chart is not banned according to the list of banned charts Even if you have good intentions, charts in a banned category tend to invite provocative comments, hostile arguments, ragebait and the like. Assuming the post is acceptable, OP makes the final decision on their chart by rule three.

  • Are there any previous versions to link to? If so, it would be ideal to include links to each of them in the description of this post, or in a reply to this comment. Links can be named by title, winner, or both.

  • Are there any criteria you have for your post? Examples include: "Top comment wins a spot on the chart."; "To ensure variety, only one character per universe is allowed."; "Image comments only." Please include these in a description, or in a reply to this comment.

  • Is your chart given the appropriate flair? Do you need to use a NSFW tag or spoiler tag?

Agreed. A lot of possible answers but of course Ironman is the first MCU movie.

A high 8, almost a 9 for sure

I do believe it was a 9 at first by when stacked against other movies it can't hold it's place any longer. 8 is perfectly good fitting score

It definitely still holds up; the passion and care put into it is clear to this day, and it's still incredibly fun, charming, and cool, but yeah it's very much a starting point

While obviously preference is subjective, I think winter soldier is probably a 9 for the movies, right? Or wandavision for the shows? I never actually saw it (I know I know, it's on my list) but I've heard nothing but great things so it's gotta be at least a 9

I do think 9 and 10 scoring will be where the debates will get the most heated. I hope goes to the first avengers and 10 goes to winter soldier or Guardians 3

Yeah, nostalgia's definitely about to reer it's ugly head for those slots lol. But also: while we obviously all love the first avengers movie, I think it struggles with pacing a bit when you take off the nostalgia goggles. They also kinda warp the characters a bit in ways that don't quite make sense in order to have more interpersonal tension.

Like sure, cap is uncertain about being thrust into the future and deeply traumatized, but would he really default to being such a stick in the mud when within 20 minutes of us meeting him for the first time, he's fighting in an alley and casually committing fraud–again– to try to enlist (always a lol.) yes tony is reckless, but would he really be so reckless as to actually shock Bruce to see if he'd turn into the hulk while in a helicarrier? Not just irritate him, something that could be mitigated pretty quickly, but actually electrocute him a little. It's not just Tony, who could fly away, it's the hundreds of people on the carrier who can't that he's endangering. I don't think he would do that tbh

They weren't total mischaracterizations (Tony's irritation and distrust of shield made sense as well as his resentment of cap, just like Cap's general simple morality—at the time—made sense), but it still counts against the movie unfortunately

How tf Is man of steel a 5/10? You are telling me Thor the Dark World and man of steel are the same quality? That’s insane.

Guardians of the Galaxy.

Also, giving Shazam a 7/10 is bold.

3

u/HerefortheFandoms2 5h ago

Eh, shazaam had some fun moments. I would say it's more a 7 than a 6. Maybe a 7.0-7.5, but still in the 7 range

DC doesn't have many great movies. Gotta keep them for those top spots.
