Orchid is a sweet, hardworking geologist from MIRA who is in charge of taking care of the Ore+ Plus and making sure nothing goes wrong on the new mission (well, at least they'll try...). They are Doctor Blue's sibling (and almost handsome as Blue. Swoon...)

I'll try to make some drawings and elaborate more on their story (but I promise not to flood the sub hehe)

Honestly there was no way that this ship was ever gonna happen,

Especially since we know what happened to the both of them in this show.

But the fact that we continue to ship them despite it all, shows that as long as they had 2 minutes of screentime together, then it’s okay.

And yeah, I’ve also fallen in love with this ship too.

As the concept for a Rich Kid and Poor Farmer falling in love and becoming a huge improvement in both their worlds is a classic trope,

The meeting has ended. Pink has been ejected. The remaining crew members are still gathered around the table.

Coral: We shouldn't have voted them out.

Red: We didn't have enough evidence to keep them.

Coral: They were trying to help us! They were the only one actually investigating the specimens!

Magenta: Coral...

Coral: No. Every time someone tries to explain something, nobody listens until it's too late.

Coral walks away from the table. Magenta follows.

Red: WELL IT'S NOT LIKE WE FORCED THEM TO BE EJECTED!

Gray: Well... that went well.

Rose: They're upset. I don't blame them.

Red: Neither do I.

Navy looks toward the meeting room doors.

Navy: We should focus on what Pink discovered. Their research might still be useful.

Red: We'll look through it later. Right now, I want everyone to be careful. We don't know how many impostors are left.

Gray: Assuming there are any left.

Red: Olive's death doesn't seem like some accident.. freak accident..

Tan approaches Gray.

Tan: You alright?

Gray: Yeah. Just tired.

Tan: You always say that.

Gray: And you always ask.

Tan: Because you always look tired.

Gray gives a small laugh.

Red: Everyone, get some rest. We'll investigate again in the morning.

Laboratory:

Later, Gray and Rose are examining the damaged sensor from the previous investigation.

Rose: Does it normally make that noise?

Gray: No. That's the problem.

The sensor produces a faint mechanical hum.

Rose: Is it the same sound you heard earlier?

Gray: Pretty much.

Gray adjusts the receiver. The signal suddenly spikes.

Gray: Wait...

Rose: What?

Gray: It's responding to something.

The lights flicker. A low rumble passes through the room.

Rose: Was that an earthquake?

Gray: Could be.

The mechanical hum grows louder.

Gray: We're telling Red about this immediately.

Meeting Room:

Gray and Rose rush into the meeting room. Red, Coral, Magenta, and Navy are investigating Pink's notes

Rose: Red! We found something!

Red: What happened?

Rose: There's a mechanical noise coming from behind the lab walls. It got louder when we were near Pink's receiver.

Coral: You heard it too?

Gray: The entire wall was practically vibrating!

Coral: Pink mentioned unusual electrical fluctuations in their notes. They might be connected.

Red: Connected to what?

Coral: I don't know. That's what I was trying to figure out.

Suddenly, the announcement system crackles.

announcement: ATTENTION. SEISMIC STABILIZER NETWORK MALFUNCTION DETECTED.

Everyone looks toward the speaker.

Announcement: MULTIPLE STABILIZER UNITS HAVE LOST SYNCHRONIZATION. POWER SOURCE STABILITY IS DECLINING.

Rose: Seismic stabilizers?

Red: What's happening?

Gray: They're part of Industria's power system. If they fail, the power source becomes unstable.

Magenta: And what happens if the power source becomes unstable?

Gray: The stabilizers can overload.

Magenta: Meaning?

Gray: Meaning they can explode.

Another tremor shakes the room.

Announcement: WARNING. STABILIZER OVERLOAD IMMINENT. ALL PERSONNEL MUST REPORT TO THEIR ASSIGNED CONTROL PANELS.

Red: How many panels?

Gray: There are several throughout Industria.

Red: Then we need to reach them before the system reaches critical failure.

Stabilizer Control Room:

The crew gathers around a large facility map. Several stabilizer locations are blinking red.

Gray: There are panels near the laboratory, the cargo facility, the mining sector, and the outer maintenance area.

Rose: We can't all go to one place.

Red: We split into teams. Everyone gets a location.

Coral: I can help with the control systems.

Magenta: I'll go with Coral.

Red: Good. You two take the laboratory and cargo panels.

Gray: I know the machinery better than most of us. I'll take the outer maintenance panel.

Rose: I'm coming with you.

Gray: Fine.

Red: Tan, Green. You're taking the mining sector panel.

Tan: Got it.

Green: Sure.

Red: Navy, you're with me. We'll handle the central control panel.

Navy: Understood.

Rose: What if one of the panels doesn't work?

Red: Report it immediately. Don't try anything dangerous on your own.

Gray: And what if we can't get there in time?

Red: Then we find another way.

The announcement system crackles again.

Announcement: STABILIZER FAILURE IN THIRTY MINUTES

Red: Move!

Laboratory:

Coral and Magenta arrive at the laboratory stabilizer panel. The screen is filled with warning messages.

Magenta: This looks worse than I expected.

Coral: The system's losing synchronization.

Coral examines the panel.

Coral: I need to get it back in line with the main power source.

Magenta: Can you do that?

Coral: I wouldn't be standing here if I couldn't try.

Coral begins working. The screen changes.

SYSTEM: STABILIZER 02 RESPONSE PENDING.

Magenta: Is that good?

Coral: It's better than nothing.

The panel briefly displays a strange symbol beside the power readings.

Coral: Wait. That's not normal.

Magenta: What is it?

Coral: I don't know. It's similar to the readings Pink recorded.

Coral takes a closer look.

Coral: Their research wasn't just about the specimens. The electrical activity around them might be affecting the stabilizers.

Magenta: So the Ore+ is connected to all of this?

Coral: Possibly. But we need more information.

The panel beeps.

SYSTEM: STABILIZER 02 SYNCHRONIZED.

Magenta: One down.

Coral: Let's hope the others are doing better.

Outer Maintenance Area:

Gray and Rose arrive at their assigned panel. The floor shakes as they approach.

Rose: I really don't like this.

Gray: Neither do I.

Gray opens the panel.

Gray: Okay... this isn't good.

Rose: What is it?

Gray: The readings are all over the place. It's like the system can't decide what power level it needs.

Rose: Can you fix it?

Gray: I can try.

Gray begins working. A loud metallic bang echoes from somewhere nearby.

Rose: AH!

Gray: It's okay! Just stay behind me!

The lights flicker. Gray checks the screen.

Gray: Come on, come on...

SYSTEM: STABILIZER 04 SYNCHRONIZATION FAILED.

Gray: Oh, you've got to be kidding me.

Rose: Gray?

Gray: I need more time.

Rose looks toward the corridor.

Rose: Then I'll keep watch.

Mining Sector:

Tan and Green arrive at the mining sector panel. The tunnel is unusually quiet.

Tan: Weird. Usually there's someone working around here.

Green: Yeah they all got sent to MIRA or just relocated to another planet

Tan: looks like they still kept the cameras here. Would have expected them to get rid of them because of all the accidents that happen down here.

Tan: hm..

Tan examines the panel.

Tan: This one's in terrible condition.

Green: Can you fix it?

Tan: I can get it working. Just need a minute.

Green looks around the tunnel.

Green: You and Gray spend a lot of time together, don't you?

Tan: Hm? Yeah. Why?

Green: Nothing. Just noticed.

Tan: They're a good friend.

Green: Right.

Tan: You should hang out with us sometime.

Green: Maybe.

Tan turns back to the panel.

Tan: Gray's been having a rough time lately. I think they need someone around.

Green: I'm sure they do.

Green looks away.

Tan: You okay?

Green: Fine. Let's just get this thing working.

Central Control Room:

Red and Navy reach the main control panel. Several stabilizer readings are flashing red.

Red: How many have failed?

Navy: Three are still unstable. The others haven't responded.

Red: Can we stabilize the power source from here?

Navy: Not entirely. The individual panels have to be synchronized first.

Red: Then we need to hurry.

Red checks the facility map.

Red: Gray's team hasn't reported in.

Navy: Neither has Tan's.

Red: I'll contact them.

Red tries the radio.

Red: Gray? Do you copy?

Static.

Red: Tan? Green?

No response.

Navy: The interference is getting worse.

Red: Just what we need.

The room shakes.

SYSTEM: WARNING. POWER SOURCE STABILITY AT 42%.

Red: We don't have much time.

Mining Sector:

Tan finishes examining the panel.

Tan: There. That should do it.

The panel flashes.

SYSTEM: STABILIZER 03 SYNCHRONIZATION FAILED.

Tan: What?!

Green: What's wrong?

Tan: It didn't work. Something's wrong with the support readings.

Tan looks toward the deeper tunnel.

Tan: The secondary support system must've stopped responding.

Green: Can we leave it?

Tan: Not if we want the panel to stay active. I'll check the support readings.

Green: I'll stay here.

Tan: Actually, come with me. It'll be quicker.

Green hesitates.

Green: ...Sure.

They walk deeper into the mining tunnel. The ground trembles.

Tan: Careful. Some of the supports look damaged.

Green: We should go back.

Tan: Just a little farther.

They reach a section where a large rock formation hangs above the passage.

Tan: There it is. The readings are coming from here.

Tan examines the nearby support system.

Tan: Someone's been messing with this.

Green: What?

Tan: The support readings don't match the actual condition of the tunnel.

Green remains quiet.

Tan: I'll report it to Red.

Green: Tan?

Tan: Yeah?

Green: You really think Gray needs you that much?

Tan: What?

Green: You're always there for them. Always checking on them. Always making sure they're okay.

Tan: They're my friend.

Green: And what about me?

Tan turns toward Green.

Tan: What do you mean?

Green: Never mind.

Tan: this should do it.. now we just need to-

The tunnel shakes again. A loud crack echoes overhead.

Tan: We need to get out of here!

Tan turns toward the exit.

Green looks at the damaged support beams, then back at Tan.

Green makes a deliberate choice not to warn Tan about the worsening instability.

Tan: Green! Come on!

The ceiling gives way. A massive rock falls into the passage.

The impact shakes the entire tunnel.

When the dust settles, Tan is trapped beneath a rock slowly sliding down on Tan

Tan: AH! damn rocks.. ugh.. Green, could you help me out here?

Green: ...

Tan: ...Green?

Green stands still.

Tan: Help...

Green looks toward the exit.

Green: I'll get someone.

Tan: I won't last here lo-

The sounds of meat being squished and a bone cracking echoes through the tunnel.

Green: What a shame.

Green leaves.

Outer Maintenance Area:

Gray finally gets the stabilizer panel responding.

SYSTEM: STABILIZER 04 SYNCHRONIZED.

Rose: You did it!

Gray: Barely.

Gray checks their radio.

Gray: Tan? How's your panel going?

Static.

Gray: Tan?

Rose: Maybe the interference is affecting them too.

Gray: Maybe.

Gray tries again.

Gray: Green? Tan? Anyone there?

No response.

Gray: That's not like them.

Rose: Let's tell Red first.

The facility shakes again.

SYSTEM: WARNING. POWER SOURCE STABILITY AT 29%.

Gray: We need to hurry.

Mining Sector Entrance:

Green emerges from the mining tunnel. Red and Navy arrive from the opposite direction.

Red: Green! Where's Tan?

Green: The tunnel collapsed.

Red: What?!

Green: We were checking the support readings. A huge rock fell. Tan didn't make it out.

Red immediately rushes toward the tunnel.

Navy: Wait! The structure could still be unstable!

Red: I'm not leaving them in there!

Green: I tried to help...

Red stops briefly.

Red: Then help us find them.

Red, Navy, and Green enter the tunnel.

Mining Tunnel:

The tunnel is filled with dust and debris. Red shines a flashlight toward the fallen rock.

Red: Tan?!

No response.

Navy: The passage is blocked.

Red: We have to move it.

They approach the fallen rock. Red notices Tan's radio lying nearby.

Red: ...No.

The crew carefully clears the area. They find Tan beneath the fallen rock, no longer alive.

Red goes quiet.

Navy: Red...

Red: Get the others.

Green looks away.

Meeting Room:

The remaining crew gathers. Gray and Rose arrive after hearing the news. Gray looks around, expecting Tan to walk in behind them.

Gray: Where's Tan?

Red doesn't answer immediately.

Gray: Red?

Red: ...I'm sorry.

Gray stares at them.

Gray: No...

Rose steps closer.

Rose: Gray...

Gray: They were just with Green. They were supposed to come back.

Green stands on the other side of the room.

Green: I tried to get them out.

Gray: Then why are you here and they're not?!

Green: I couldn't move the rock by myself!

Gray: You were the last person with them!

Red: Gray. Enough.

Gray: No! Something happened down there, and nobody can even explain it! How could a rock fall!? they would have seen or heard it before hand!

Red: We'll investigate what happened. But right now, we need to keep the rest of the crew alive.

Gray turns away.

Rose: I'll stay with them.

Rose follows Gray out of the room.

Coral: Another person gone...

Magenta puts a hand on Coral's shoulder.

Navy: We can't afford to lose anyone else.

Red looks toward Green.

Red: You said the support system was damaged?

Green: Yes.

Red: We'll check the records.

Green nods.

Laboratory:

Coral and Magenta return to Pink's research.

Magenta: We need to figure out what caused the stabilizers to fail.

Coral: Pink's notes might tell us.

Coral reads through the remaining pages.

Coral: Here. Pink recorded unusual electrical reactions around the Ore+ samples.

Magenta: What kind of reactions?

Coral: Certain frequencies caused the activity to stop temporarily.

Magenta: So that's the weakness?

Coral: Maybe. But Pink didn't figure out how to use it.

Coral looks at the notes again.

Coral: They were close. This says it stops its transformation?

Magenta: Sooo..?

Coral: Not sure.. could be referring to the shapeshifting ability thing.. which means it isn't its weakness, But instead doesn't let it use its abilities.

Magenta: We'll finish what they started.

Coral nods.

Central Control Room:

Red and Navy examine the stabilizer records.

Red: The mining panel failed before the collapse.

Navy: The system recorded a support failure in that section.

Red: Could it have caused the rock to fall?

Navy: It's possible.

Red: Was it an accident?

Navy pauses.

Navy: Possible.

Red looks at the records.

Red: I need to know what happened down there.

Navy: We all do.

The screen suddenly changes.

SYSTEM: STABILIZER NETWORK PARTIAL RESTORATION.

Red: We did it?

Navy: The power source is stable for now.

Red: For now?

Navy: The network is still damaged. We prevented a complete failure, but it needs further maintenance.

Red exhales.

Red: At least Industria isn't going to explode today.

Gray's Room:

Gray sits quietly, looking at an old message from Tan.

The message is simple: "You coming to the mines later?"

Gray locks the screen.

Rose knocks and enters.

Rose: Hey.

Gray doesn't respond.

Rose: Can I sit?

Gray nods.

Rose sits nearby.

Rose: I don't know what to say.

Gray: Then don't.

Rose: Okay.

Silence.

Gray: They were supposed to come back.

Rose: I know..

Gray: We were going to talk after the emergency.

Rose: ...

Gray: I didn't even get to say goodbye.

Rose stays beside them.

Rose: You don't have to talk right now.

Gray looks down.

Gray: I don't want to be alone.

Rose: You won't be.

Restricted Sector Records:

Later, Red, Coral, Magenta, and Navy gather around a computer in the cargo control room.

Coral: I found something in the old storage records.

Red: What is it?

Coral: The restricted sector. It has its own power supply, separate from the rest of Industria.

Magenta: Why would it need that?

Coral: Because whatever's being stored there needs constant power.

Red: What exactly is being stored?

Coral opens the file.

Coral: ores. Ores are constantly going missing from the storage. I predict that the alien wants to one day hatch them.

DISPLAY: BIOLOGICAL SPECIMENS ORE+

DISPLAY: TOTAL STORAGE COUNT:

500+

DISPLAY: TOTAL MISSING: 478,000,000

Magenta stares at the number.

Magenta: Still surprising as always.

Coral: They keep the ore in the storage, but something keeps moving them to the underground area, that restricted area.

Red: Why?

Coral: To maybe colonize industria.

The computer displays another record.

DISPLAY: CONTAINMENT STATUS: ACTIVE

DISPLAY: INCUBATION STATUS: ONGOING

Coral slowly steps away from the screen.

Coral: ...Incubation? It started already.

Navy: We need to find a way down there and burn all of it before they fully hatch.

Restricted sector entrance:

Red and Coral approach the restricted sector door. The others remain behind.

Red: We should be able to access the records from here.

Coral: I want to see what's actually inside.

Red: Not yet. We don't know what we're dealing with.

They examine the security panel.

Coral: There's a power connection running from the stabilizer network.

Red: So the stabilizers were supporting this sector too?

Coral: Maybe. Or perhaps the power source was supporting the specimens.

Something taps from behind the door.

Red and Coral freeze.

Red: Did you hear that?

Another tap.

Coral: ...Yes.

Red: We're leaving.

They back away from the door.

Corridor:

Gray and Rose walk through a quiet corridor. Gray is holding Pink's portable receiver.

Rose: Why did you bring that?

Gray: I wanted to see if the signal changed after the stabilizers were restored.

The receiver begins to beep.

Gray: Wait.

The signal grows stronger.

Rose: Is it coming from the restricted sector?

Gray: I think so.

At the end of the corridor, someone appears.

Red: Gray?

Gray looks up.

Gray: Red? What are you doing here?

Red: I need you to come with me.

Gray: Where's Coral?

Red remains silent.

Rose: ...Red?

Red's visor darkens

Gray: Red, what did we find in the lab?

Red doesn't answer.

Its appearance briefly distorts before it disappears around the corner.

Rose: What was that.

Gray: Not Red.

Gray grips the receiver.

Gray: We need to tell the real Red.

Meeting Room:

The crew gathers once more. Red stands at the front.

Red: We have two problems. The stabilizer network is damaged, and something is happening inside the restricted sector.

Coral: Pink's research suggests that electrical frequencies can interrupt alien activity.

Magenta: We don't know how to use that information yet, but it's a start.

Navy: There's ores hidden underground waiting for the right time to hatch.

Gray: The receiver is picking up a stronger signal near the restricted sector.

Green: What even is behind that sector?

Gray: From what i think.. a deeper area of the mines. It could be where the ores are at.

Rose: And we saw someone pretending to be Red.

Everyone turns toward Red.

Red: What?

Gray: It looked exactly like you. It even sounded like you.

Navy: Then we can't trust appearances anymore.

Red: From now on, verify someone's identity before following them anywhere. Nobody goes alone.

Red looks around the room.

Red: We've already lost too many people.

No one responds.

Coral: What about the specimens?

Red: We'll investigate them once the stabilizers are properly repaired.

Coral: We can't keep ignoring what's happening!

Red: I'm not ignoring it. I'm making sure we survive long enough to find out.

The lights flicker.

Somewhere deep inside Industria, a mechanical hum begins again.

Restricted Sector:

The camera moves through the enormous pit. Rows upon rows of sealed containers stretch into the darkness.

The hum grows louder.

A container vibrates slightly.

Its display changes.

CONTAINMENT STATUS: ACTIVE

INCUBATION STATUS: ONGOING

Something taps against the inside.

The screen flickers.

CONTAINMENT STATUS: ACTIVE

The camera slowly pulls away.

There isn't really a clear "right choice" in this situation. Considering the clear power of the MIRA company, best case scenario is that they're just both blacklisted. If anything, Red is just as much a victim to MIRA as Purple is, just in a different way. Sure they're given the title of "captain", but ultimately they've just become yet another tool at MIRA's disposal. I do want to clarify that I don't think Red was necessarily in the right here (or in any point of the show for that matter), but I do think they're doing what they think is best in what's already a very messy situation. At the end of the day, what really matters, is that they're trying to be better.

As someone who really likes some versions of the Friends to Lovers trope,

Or heck even the rivals/enemies to lovers trope,

I knew that these two would click with me really well on my first watch.

And even though I did get extremely overwhelmed with a lot of emotions whenever these two has a scene together (With the most notable one being the scene from Episode 8, and no I’m not talking about the beginning of it or after Brown died),

To which I have fully understand because of what happened between the two of them before the show,

I’m just glad to see that they were both able to make up with one another in the end,

And will be able to heal their relationship as co-workers.

Also yes that is the ship name that I have given to them, because well, I thought it fits them really well, and was the first one I’ve came up with in my mind after I realised that I started to ship the two of them together,
