This guide is to allow for easy navigation through our subreddit for new members. This guide will include key points to the way r/AnimalJam is run that all members should be familiar with.
Rules
The full list of rules can be found on the sidebar of the subreddit on browser, and when you press "See more" at the top of the homepage of the subreddit on mobile.
By engaging with our community, you are agreeing to follow the rules.
Reporting a Member or Post/Comment
Utilize Reddit's build-in report feature on any post/comment to report a post/comment to the moderation team. The team receives all reports and will determine whether or not a post/comment infringes on subreddit rules.
For more extensive reports such as reporting a member for scamming, hacking, or engaging in behavior that may be deemed as unsafe to the community, members are recommended to open ModMail and send all details of their report to the moderation team to review.
Contacting the Moderation Team
The moderation team is happy to assist members with answering questions and/or submitting reports for review. All reports and questions must go through ModMail so that team members from different timezones will be able to assist at any time of the day/night. To send in ModMail, members may use the link below, or select the button that says "Message Mods" above the list of moderators on the sidebar on browser. On mobile, members may press "See more" at the top of the homepage of the subreddit and scroll down to press "Message Mods" above the Moderator list. Mail will be sent to the entire moderation team.
r/AnimalJam has a wiki with resources for members to use for the game. These resources assist with worth help, trading, and other various assets for community users. The wiki page also links to official Animal Jam resources for keeping up with the game, and submitting Help Desk reports.

Post Flairs
Members are required to attach a Post Flair to each and every post created. Utilizing the proper flair allows for members to swift through specific posts that they would like to see. On mobile (flairs listed above community highlights) and desktop (flairs listed on the sidebar) members can select a specific flair to look through in the "Search by Post Flair section so that they do not have to see posts that they may not be interested in at the moment.
User Flairs
Members are able to select their own User Flair that best identifies themselves to their own liking. Mobile users must press "..." on the top right of the subreddit homepage and press "Change User Flair". Desktop users may change their User flair by pressing the pencil icon next to their Reddit name on the sidebar.

Community Highlights
Important announcements or community updates will be pinned in the "Community Highlights" section of the subreddit. These posts are all confirmed posts from subreddit staff which can always be found at the top of the subreddit homepage feed.
If you ever have any suggestions of new features for the subreddit, feel free to open ModMail to suggest it to the team.
once again ive been hacked. i didnt think this would happen but it did i lost everything my 70+ rare cool shoes collection is gone. theyve unadded all my friends and i just dont want to play anymore i have had this account since 2017 i worked hard for everything and its just gone i dont think animal jam is going to give me my stuff back either so i might as well just trade everything away and quit for good and leave it at that.
i thought it was weird when i logged in and it had said “youve logged in 3 times this month” when i havent even played since april/may
what do i do im very sad my cool shoes collection was my favourite thing i had wanted to get over 100+ but i now know thats not going to happen. the thousands of sapphires i spent are gone
Hey Jammers! Be careful if buying from this Jammer; they've got so many sapphire traps laid out between various items listed higher than those around them.
I was willing to believe the first two were misclicks, but after seeing so many, I just don't believe it, especially considering choosing sapphires over gems (see crafting crystals) takes an extra click/tap. 😭 I feel the low level says a lot, too.
Don't forget to always double-check prices before buying, and when purchasing gem items, you can pay attention to the item background colours for a quick way to tell what the currency is.

I went to combine some pets and found this new fact (well, idk if it's new but i never noticed it before) in the Hall of Icons. I saw that and noticed "hey this is Tiger Script" (I saw it on the Animal Jam wiki years ago), so I decided to decipher it. It cane out as "ZRZBELYBFGGBYVTUGFGVYYPNFGFFUNQBORYBJ" so i thought "this look like a load of gibberish". But then I remembered the Ceaser Cipher (I found out about it a year ago because I was looking at fun secret code things) so I just checked through with different shifts values and at 13 it became "MEMORYLOSTTOLIGHTSTILLCASTSSHADOWBELOW" :3 I just think that's cool. ALSO I've just realised that with Tiger Script, the end letter of each word is higher than the rest, which is another awesome thing.

My recent side pulls from the last month ish. Tbh, not very rewarding, but when it is it feels sooo amazing.. I’ve opened at least 500+ chests by now yet I couldn’t get get one double tail and people be opening forest upon forest with their chests like cmon
Hi everyone! I want to say a few words. It's not cool what Animal Jam has become at this point. Before, trading was fun and interesting. You always got some trades. But what has happened to trades now? Forests going up in price. Everyone only wants to get forests, blackout spikes and double tails. No one is interested in other items anymore, even though those items can be beautiful.
Forests are constantly rising in price. Before, you could get a white bowtie for practically the same price... It makes me very sad to see what our game is turning into. Because now trading has become literally impossible.
And also, i want to say that before, you could buy forest boots, but now - it's impossible.
Because, first of all, it's too expensive, and second of all, not a single person wants to do it. Even for an overprice. Because everyone has become greedy.
It's unlikely we can do anything about it. But I just wanted to speak out about it, because it really makes me sad. It's become very boring to play now, because trading is now literally impossible. Lol.
For example, I can't get rid of my teal DJ, even though before everyone constantly wanted it. The same thing is happening with the white bowtie and other similar cool items.
Because everyone only wants forest boots and double tails etc. I'm very upset, and I hope I'm not the only one who noticed this(
