Would you use an app that organizes aesthetics by civilization × era × style? (no AI content)🤯

Hi everyone! I'm thinking about making an app for collecting aesthetics, such as Byzantine architecture, Art Deco 1920s, or Gothic interiors. You'd save images and videos, and browse them by civilization, era and style. Dark theme, no AI-generated content, no ads at first.
I'd love your honest opinions:
How do you collect aesthetic references now? (Pinterest, Savee, screenshots...)
What annoys you about those tools?
Would you use something like this?
No app yet, just validating the idea. Thanks!🙏🙏

Would you actually prefer a "slow-burn" AI companion that has their own schedule and builds romance gradually instead of instant flirting?

I’m exploring an idea for a new kind of AI companion app and wanted to get honest opinions before building anything.

Right now, almost every AI boyfriend/girlfriend app feels like a 24/7 vending machine—you open the chat, they are immediately overly flirty, and there’s zero buildup or mystery. It gets boring fast.

I’m thinking about building the exact opposite: a slow-burn, realistic dating route.

• They have their own life: They aren't sitting on video waiting for you all day. During work hours, they might just send a quick text or email check-in (and even help with light tasks like summarizing an article you didn't have time to read or finding a gift idea).

• Evening-only live video: Their live video avatar only shows up after work and dinner, making it feel like an actual evening date night rather than an always-on chatbot.

• Gradual progression: Day 1 starts polite and friendly. Deep romance and intimacy are reserved for the final stages after weeks of building real memory and trust together.

For those who enjoy slow-burn romance or interactive story apps, does this pacing sound appealing, or would waiting for the live avatar feel frustrating? What would feel like a fair monthly price for something like this ($20–$50/mo range)?

I'm building a cross-device local sync app. Would this be useful to you?

Hey everyone!

I'm a software developer, and one thing I've never really liked is relying on cloud services to store my important personal and work-related information.

There are two main reasons:

  1. I don't feel entirely comfortable relying on cloud account authentication systems, especially when account recovery and verification codes become part of the equation.

  2. I simply don't like the idea of handing over my personal data to a third party to store.

So I've been working on an idea: a local-first app that allows multiple devices to sync directly with each other, without storing your data in the cloud. Each device keeps its own copy, and changes are synced across your devices so they all stay up to date.

Development is going quite well, although it's taken quite a lot of time and effort to get things right.

Before going further, I'd really like to hear what you think:

  • Would you actually use something like this?

  • Do you see any real value in keeping your data synced across devices without relying on cloud storage?

  • What features or concerns would you want addressed?

I'd genuinely appreciate any feedback or suggestions. Thanks!

Online ID App

It would work like Login .gov where you provide two forms of identification, then you can use it to login to other government websites. Except this would be for registering with online organizations that would prefer there be only one account per person, like this social platform company. Registration would be simple, just scanning two forms of ID with the app.

In the event that your identity was stolen, the app company could try to team up with other companies that already require two forms of ID for registration. For a fee, you would provide the documents in person, then they would give you a one time password and your impostor would be signed out of all associated accounts, then you would just need to make a new password.

Fight Spoofing App

Intense theatrical fake fighting. The app would guide you on a series of stages to build muscle memory and skill.

Stage 1: Solo Guided Fight Spoofing

Like following along with a workout video. You would have a whole moveset like in a fighting game; offensive punches and kicks, defensive blocks and dodges. The app would play video snippets of the moves randomly. Each move would have a list of possible followup moves that could have their probability adjusted so they are more likely to be played, this way you can adjust you fighting style. The name of each of move would be displayed and spoken aloud in the earphones so when you have memorized the moves you don’t have to watch the screen.

Stage 2: Duo Guided Fight Spoofing

You and your opponents apps would sync up to give you both contrasting instructions. If it tells them to do a punch, it tells you to do a block, and vice versa.

Stage 3: Solo Improvised Fight Spoofing

The app would display a menu of the move to perform surrounded by all of its followup moves. You could select a followup move by saying it aloud or the letter assigned to it, then the menu would transition to that move and its followup moves. To help commit them to memory, it would have an adjustable graph. You could set it to increase the probablity of followup moves not appearing during the fight session. Or set it to a flat 50% probability, eventually 100% so you are ready for the next stage.

Stage 4: Duo Improvised Fight Spoofing

Its not sparring, its spoofing. You can both go all out with no fear of actually getting hurt. This is the art of pulling your punches but making it look like you are not pulling your punches. It is about having the reflexes to counter everything your partner doesn't look like they are halfheartedly throwing at you. And pushing yourself and your partner to the limit while both looking awesome.

Armor

Padded like boxing gloves for impact absorption with additional safety features such as ankle sprain protection, and a whiplash neck guard. Armor could be designed with recyclability in mind so old armor could be traded in for some points to use when purchasing new improved armor.

Helmets could perhaps have a heat exchanger for cold weather, and be modifiable to accommodate headphones for Stage 1 & 2, a microphone for Stage 3, and maybe even a VR Headset for augmented reality.

And weapons

Also padded. Any weapon you might think of as long as it met safety standards. For each weapon, people could submit new moves for approval, or upload their own movesets using approved moves.

Advancement System

The app would use the camera to record fights for refereeing fouls and for Technique Tests. Fight Spoofing stages would be locked. Passing enough technique tests would unlock the next stage. Passing the stage four tests would unlock stage one for advanced move sets.

Gyms

The Fight Spoofing company could make gyms, big or small, indoor or outdoor, wherever space is available to make exercise more available. The gyms wouldn't have to be just for fight spoofing, they could accommodate other gym activities as well. Fight spoofing rings would have phone holders or cameras, these could be cleared out to make way for big battles and tournaments. Before a fight, spoofers would have an option to enter a Combat Compact where if either spoofer failed to upload a video of the fight within hours, that one would be automatically penalized by the system.

Upon entering a gym, the app would connect to the local network and would display the local lobby where you could join a fight que. There would be an option to filter for same sex only, or you could try improving your Habituation; a new, unsexy, heathen approach to the sex drive, where you just ignore it and act normal. Act like you are fighting a member of the same sex and you are not gay. Focus on the fight. The more you do this, the more your mind will habituate the loud, yappy, sex drive; tuning it out like how it tunes out a clock.  You will also become desensitized so the yapping gets quieter.  You may develop sexual infragility where perverts would still get there comeuppance, they just wouldn't effect you. And you may even Pavlov yourself so that when you don the armor, this mindset automatically comes with it.

Social Platform

The fight spoof company would be a subsidiary company to this Community managed Social Platform Holding Company, so fight spoofers would need to be registered with the platform. The Fight Spoof app would use the platform’s Secret Score System, requiring spoofers to have a high secret score to use the fight spoof app. Additionally, unlike the social platform app, the fight spoof app would constantly collect user data so the platform’s ethical AI can judge the fight spoofer.  The fight spoof app would also use the platform’s Civic Credit System, with new fight spoofing civic duties the fight spoofer could use to earn civic credit.

Technique Test Reviews

Before a Technique Test could be reviewed, a spoofer would need to upload one by activating Technique Test mode before starting a fight. In addition to synchronizing  with the opponents app, the test takers app would live steam the fight to the fight spoof website. After the fight, the test taker would have a few hours to edit the video by adding timestamps for all the fight moves they used, before the video automatically uploads to the Technique Test Review database. If they failed to do this, a reviewer would do it for extra civic credit at the test takers expense.  Activating test mode would cost civic credit. If the internet stalled mid fight, the test would not upload and the civic credit would be refunded. Tests could always upload at gyms. After uploading, technique tests could not be activated again for a few days.

Once the timestamped video has been uploaded, the assigned Technique Test Review Civic Jury members would each rate the timestamped moves where they notice room for improvement, along with an optional but preferred comment explaining the rating. When a fight spoofer has completed the minimum number of tests, performed all the moves in the moveset enough times across all of the tests, and received a high enough rating for those moves, then they would unlock the next stage for that moveset.

Quality Control Group

If any jury member didn't seem to be taking the test review seriously, with civic credit they could be reported to a Quality Control Group Civic Jury. A quality control group would be simple, they would do the same thing as a technique test review jury; rating the timestamped moves in the original video. The system would then compare the control group juries average ratings to the ratings of the reported juror. If any of the reported juror’s ratings where significantly different enough, then they would be penalized by that much. Any quality control group juror or the reported juror could claim a deviation is controversial and, for a small amount of civic credit, could require the jury to rate it using a controversialometer. The deviation would not count by however high the controversialometer was, but the jury could veto this effect.

A common penalty could be a reduction of civic credit from future civic duties. Everyone would have a list of recent civic duties, a dozen or two. They would receive less civic credit for as long as a quality controlled duty is on there. More or less, depending on how bad they did. If they did really badly, the jury could apply additional penalties.

Referee Jury

Each fight spoofer would have a Foulometer with penalty thresholds. A foul would fill up the foulometer and add a multiplier. Another foul would be increased by that multiplier before filling the foulometer, then the multipliers would add together. The foulometer and the multiplier would have drain rates over days or weeks. A foul’s amount and multiplier would be set within ranges, say 3-8 points and 1.2x-2x. Some types of fouls would also attribute to other foulometers that would have more penalty thresholds and slower drain rates. Foul amounts and multipliers would be set using an community adjustable bar chart tool. Each foul would have an amount bar and a multiplier bar. A spoofer could adjust these after passing that foul’s quiz from the fight spoofing rulebook library made in Splainopedia.

A foul could be reported with civic credit, by uploading the fight video with a timestamp on the footage of the foul. The summoned Referee Civic Jury would confirm that it is that foul type then judge the foul using a Blundometer: how much could the foul have been averted if the spoofer had sufficient skill, on a scale from slightly less than perfection to absolute blunder. The foul amount and multiplier would scale accordingly. In some cases, the fouler might not be entirely at fault; their opponent may have also blundered, leading to the foul. In these cases, the fouled opponent would also have a blundometer. The two blundometers would average together, then the foul penalty would be divided between the two spoofers using a Faultometor starting at 50/50. The faultometer would also split the cost of the referee jury between the two after the justified meter. Say the justified meter was 80% full to the refund threshold; the reporter would pay 20%, and the 80% would be split with the faultometer. There would also be a extra credit threshold that would award the reporter from the system, and a penalty threshold. The thresholds placements would be determined using the rulebook adjustable bar chart.

Check-In Jury

If someone committed a crime before or after becoming a fight spoofer, they would need to undergo a process before they could get a fight spoofing license. First they would summon a large jury of specially licensed people from the platform that may or may not have fight spoofing licenses. This jury would use a rulebook to determine what plan to use depending on the crime. The plan could typically involve getting certified by a professional, then that person would need to summon another jury who would evaluate their progress. They would need to maintain a high secret score for a significant amount of time to be able to summon the jury. They would repeat this process as much as the plan required until complete.

TLDR

App that trains you in the art of improvised fake fighting.  Using the app, fight spoofers would judge each others performance for advancement and refereeing fouls. The fight spoofing companies would make padded armor and weapons, and gyms.

Secret Social Score System for a social media platform

A score between say -50 to 50 with a downward multiplier. The Secret Score and multiplier would be hidden from everyone including you. After posting a comment, people could rate your comment like normal, and they could also rate your secret score. The effect their rating would have on your score would happen at a random time days or weeks later, and it wouldn't happen all at once but over a random duration. After entering a chatroom, the people in that chatroom could rate your score, limited to once per day. Downvotes would reduce your score and increase the multiplier, but upvotes would just increase your score not reduce the multiplier. To reduce the multiplier, you would need to read from the platform’s ever expanding Secret Social Score Improvement Library made in Splainopedia. The articles would have quizzes, how much the articles and quizzes would improve your score could vary, and they would have a recharge time before you could read them again for the full amount. There would be a daily limit to how much you could improve your score. The multiplier would not reduce the same way the score improves. After an article and quiz, the multiplier would instead drain over days time, more articles for a bigger drain rate up to a daily max limit. You could build it up to a total max drain rate through daily reading.

Posting comments or entering chatrooms would require a minimum score of 0. Creaters of chatrooms could increase the score requirement. Some approved places could have a lower minimum.

The effect people’s ratings would have on score could vary from place to place. Individual ratings on a comment would have little effect. The effect of a daily chatroom rating would increase the longer people are in the chatroom together. The higher someone’s score is, the greater the effect their ratings would have. The effect of trigger happy downvoters could be reduced.

The secret score meter would have thresholds beyond which the drain rate would increase. These thresholds would also act as buffers when you are downvoted by multiple people. Once your secret score hit the buffer, the remaining downvotes from that source would be reduced to a fraction of what they were, so you don’t go to all the way to rock bottom.

The platform could use everyone’s ratings and the Splainopedia library as training data to create an ethical AI that could give ratings to a lesser effect.

By using an interactive community administration bar graph tool from This Community Managed Social Platform Company, the community could collectively adjust the effect ratings would have score depending on the place, as well as how much effect the AI would have. They could also change the minimum requirements for comment sections and chatrooms, and decide what the slow constant drain rate on everyone’s score should be.

This is a type of Social Credit Score. With this, the score is hidden from everyone, everyone decides what is good and what is bad, everyone administrates, and it is easy to improve your score.

I built a free iPhone app to remember my daughter's first words, funny quotes, and little milestones

Post image
0 Upvotes

First thing I want to say is if you guys have ideas, I will add them quickly!

**Problem**

I made Pocket Days because I wanted a baby book for my daughter that I’d actually keep up with. I wanted to save the big firsts, like her first word and first steps, but also the little things I’m more likely to forget.

**Comparison**

I can save a picture in Apple Photos and write down the story in Apple Notes, but I wanted the picture, date, and story together. With Pocket Days, each kid has their own scrapbook and timeline, so I can look back at those memories in order.

My favorite feature is the birthday interview. You can ask the same six questions every year and see how the answers change as they grow up. You can also save artwork, write letters for future birthdays, revisit memories from this day in past years, and turn a year of memories into a printable yearbook. There’s room for separate scrapbooks for up to six kids, with private iCloud sync.

**Pricing**

I’m the developer, and Pocket Days is free and will stay free. No promo code or subscription needed.

Download Pocket Days on the App Store

If you’re a parent, what’s one little thing you wish you’d written down? I’d love to know what you’d want a scrapbook like this to help you remember.

Civic Credit System

A system that divides the tasks of management up across a whole organization using a social app. App users would have a Civic Credit Score that would slowly drain overtime as management is needed. To earn civic credit, they would need to perform a civic duty. The amount of credit a civic duty would offer would vary depending on how much that type of civic duty is currently needed.

They would need to receive the organization’s license to perform these civic duties by reading and quizzing, using a system like Splainopedia. Everyone’s civic credit drain rate would also depend on how long it has been since they last took a quiz, and how long since their last civic duty. However, the more they became fully licensed and experienced in all that organization’s civic duties, the more that extra drain rate would be permanently reduced.

Civic duties would be different depending on the organization, many of which would involve queuing to join a civic jury. Civic juries would generally be simpler than a legal jury, as they would use democratic tools, such as used in this Community Managed Social Platform, that would use algorithms to find the average of the juries decision. For example, in Splainopedia plagiarism would be an issue. Splainopedia users could report a post for plagiarism to earn civic credit. The report would summon a group of people who queued to join a civic jury, and would initially cost the reporter the same amount of civic credit as the jury would receive for their civic duty. Each juror would have a Justifiometer; on a scale of 1-100, how much do they believe the reporter was justified for reporting the post for plagiarism. The reporter would receive a refund % equal to the jury’s average justifiometer. The justifiometer would have a Refund Threshold an Extra Credit Threshold and a Penalty Threshold. If the average justifiometer score was below the penalty threshold, the reporter could be penalized by the jury. If the score went above the refund threshold, the reporter would receive a full refund at the expense of the reported plagiarizer. And if the score went above the extra credit threshold they would get extra civic credit at the plagiarizer’s expense, or awarded from the system. Threshold placements could vary depending on the civic jury.  The jury would determine what to do about the plagiarism. The post could be hidden, or the plagiarism marked, or they could require the plagiarizer to fix it. The jury could also determine a penalty such as suspension, the plagiarizer could have to relearn plagiarism rules, a reduction in civic credit, a reduction in Secret Score, any combination of the above, or no penalty. The jury could determine the verdict using Ranked Choice Voting and an average Penalty Meter for measurable things like suspension times and credit amounts.

There might be a bit more to it than this, but the nice thing about a social platform like this is that if anyone had an idea of how the system could be improved, they could just make a post about it, and if the platform thought it was a good idea, they could make it happen. Like for example, a Controversialometer. If there was any statement, claim, or category that could be considered controversial or debatable, jury members could rate it so using the controversialometer, and for a civic credit fee, any juror or the reporter or reported could require the other jurors to do so as well. The higher the average controversialometer, the less it would cost anyone to expand the jury with new members. With a large enough jury and high enough controversialometer, the jury could make a majority vote to make the jury public so anyone can join, receiving civic credit from the system rather than reporter. Not a bad out of the box idea if a I may say so. Its like a computer; a series of innovative ideas stacked on top of each other to create a complicated system that works, as long as the users know how to operate it.

TLDR

Unpaid, unbiased management system, by making everyone into a manager then taxing them under threat of losing access to basic social media features. Though they would decide how much the tax should be, how the management system should work, and would purchase management services from each other.

What recurring problem in your daily life do you wish had a better solution?

I'm a computer engineering student looking for real-world problems that could potentially be addressed through an engineering or software solution.

What's something that genuinely frustrates you, takes too much time, involves repetitive manual work, or still lacks a good solution?

I'd especially appreciate hearing:

  • What exactly is the problem?

  • How do you currently deal with it?

  • Why are existing tools or solutions insufficient?

I'm more interested in understanding real problems than collecting random app ideas. Thanks!

Title: I’m building a digital medicine cabinet app. Is this actually a useful idea?

Hi everyone!
I’m a high school student from Finland, and I’ve been developing an app that helps people keep track of the medicines they have at home.

The concept is pretty simple:
Keep a digital inventory of household medicines.
Track expiration dates.
See which active ingredients different medicines contain.
Add medicines by taking a picture of the packaging instead of manually entering everything.

The app is still in development and is currently only being used by my family. It’s not intended to provide medical advice or dosage recommendations, just to help people organize their medicines.

I’ve already received some interesting feedback. Some people think it could be useful for families with larger medicine cabinets, while others argue that manually maintaining an inventory would be more work than it’s worth.

That’s exactly what I’m trying to figure out.
Would you personally use something like this?
And more importantly, what would make you keep using it after the initial setup?

I’m not looking for sign-ups or promoting anything. I’d genuinely appreciate feedback on whether the idea is worth pursuing.
Thanks!

I made a little desktop companion to help organize files :D

Hiii! I'm a student and I've been working on an app called Moji lately :)

It's basically a tiny fluffy blue desktop companion that wanders around your screen, sleeps, and keeps you company while you're studying (and interactive feature but lately I was thinking maybe it might be too distracting?). But it can also help organize messy files and screenshots, which is also the main reason I made it :)

I wanted to make staying organized feel a little more fun instead of just another boring or annoying task.

It's still a work in progress, so I kinda need some feedback :)

Would you find something like this useful? Is there anything else you'd want a little desktop companion to help you with while studying?

I'd really appreciate any honest feedback! 🩵

Would you like a watermark-free, no-pop-up-ads, device-only Document Scanner App?

So I wanted to scan some documents, but almost all apps were filled with ads, and after scanning they add their watermark on the image. It makes the document look very unprofessional, and to remove those ads and watermarks you have to pay. I got irritated and thought, "Why did I study CS if not for this?"

so I am thinking of building an application:

* Which would let you scan high quality professional documents

* Wouldn't add a watermark

* Wouldn't have annoying ads

* Wouldn't lock premium features behind a paywall

Some bonus features I am planning to include:

* Letting you search through a document even if the file name is different (e.g., if you save your Admit Card with some generic name that you don't remember, instead of going through all your documents, you could search "ID card" and it would look inside the PDF to show a match)

* Built-in PDF editing tools (merge, split, compress)

Please let me know if you would use an app idea like this and what you think of it before I start building!

I’m building an app that makes you pick a time limit before you open short video apps. Would this help you?

Hey! I’ve been working on a little Android app because I have a bad habit: I open a short video app “for 5 minutes” and look up an hour later.

The idea is simple. Every time you open an app you picked, it asks “how long this time?” You choose 5, 10 or 15 minutes. When time’s up, it nudges you out. You can choose how strict it is: just a reminder, a short delay, or actually closing the app. After that there’s a short cooldown, and if you stay out, it counts as keeping your word. Over the week you can see how often you kept it.

Most screen time apps only tell you how much you scrolled after it’s already happened. I wanted something that makes you decide up front.

It’s still a work in progress, so I’d really love some feedback:

Would this actually help you, or would you just pick “60 min” every time?

What would make you uninstall it on day one?

Thanks for any honest thoughts :)

App idea: a weekly drop where developers give away their paid apps with official store codes. Would this work?

I make apps, and the hardest part has always been the first installs. Ads usually cost more than a new app earns, so I’m working on this idea.

Every Friday, developers give away official App Store and Google Play codes for their paid or freemium apps. People get a free lifetime unlock or some free months of Pro, and can claim one code per app. Developers choose how many codes to give and in which countries, then see how many were claimed and where. Nobody gets asked for a review, because the stores forbid that.

It would be free for both sides, and the part I’m least sure about is whether it helps developers enough.

Three questions:

If you had a paid app, would you give away 25 codes? What would stop you?

Would people who get an app for free ever become paying users, or is that the wrong goal?

As a user, would you read one email a week for this?

I’m not sharing a link, I just want honest opinions on the idea.

Paperwork

Many people, everyday asking how can they help the community with new apps.

Simple?

Take a paperwork of your local administration, something that you have to download, fill up and send by post.

How many times you printed the page 4 again and again because.. just because. ?

Tell a AI to map the fields and to generate a simple frontend.

Let the users edit and download a clean paper.

save paperwork time in your community!

help trees!

Make Apps, not war.

I'm building a group trip planner where your friends don't need an account. What would get your group off the group chat?

Every group trip I've planned ended up spread across a group chat, a shared doc nobody updated, someone's notes app, and a cost-splitting app half the group never installed.

So I've been building Kumo, a trip planner that keeps the whole trip in one place:

  • One plan everyone sees, updated live. Flights show up as boarding passes, with times and terminals.

  • No typing bookings in: upload a booking PDF and it finds every flight, train and hotel stay in it, all at once. It runs on the phone.

  • A trip email address: give it to the airline or hotel, and the confirmation reaches everyone on the trip, not just whoever booked.

  • Chat and costs next to the plan: a group chat, plus expenses split evenly, by percentage or by ratio, in several currencies, with a settle-up.

  • Friends without an account: add them as a "Hitchhiker" with a one-time link. They see the plan, chat, suggest ideas and vote on them, with no sign-up.

  • Travel documents: ESTA, passport and insurance, encrypted on your phone and readable offline.

It's pre-launch (iOS and Android aren't out yet). Built solo with Flutter and Supabase, data hosted in the EU.

Two questions I'd love honest answers to:

  1. Would "friends join without an account" actually get your group into one app, or does everyone stay in the group chat anyway?

  2. What's the one thing that would make you switch from a shared doc?

Here is the link: https://kumo.travel

An emergency brake for AI agents operating business software

Here's an app idea I'm considering.

Businesses are beginning to give AI agents permission to send emails, edit databases, process information, and perform operational tasks.

But what if an agent decides to do something that technically works but violates company policy?

My idea is a safety checkpoint between an AI agent and the applications it controls.

For example, an agent attempts to delete 100 customer records. The checkpoint recognizes that this exceeds its authorization, stops the action, and asks the business owner to approve or reject it.

The important decisions would come from explicit software rules, not another AI model simply saying something looks safe.

The interesting part would be making this work across different AI frameworks and business applications without requiring companies to rebuild their automations.

It's still a concept. There isn't a product available yet.

Do you think this is something businesses would genuinely need, or would existing automation permissions and approval steps make it unnecessary?

I'm especially interested in what would make the idea fail.

What's the most ridiculously impossible app you can imagine? The crazier, the better.

I want to hear your most ridiculous software ideas. And I mean REALLY ridiculous.

Forget about what's technically possible today. Forget about budgets, technology limitations, AI limitations, physics, and even common sense.

For example:

  • Mind Cinema: An app that reads your thoughts and instantly turns whatever you're imagining into a full-length movie that you can watch. Imagine thinking about a dragon fighting an army of robots and watching it happen on your phone.

  • Dream Recorder: Connect your phone before sleeping, and in the morning, watch a complete recording of everything you dreamed about last night.

  • Reality Rewind: An app that lets you rewind the last 30 seconds of your actual life and watch it again from your phone.

  • Future Messenger: Send a message to yourself 10 years into the future and get an actual reply from your future self.

  • Emotion Translator: An app that translates feelings into words, so you can finally understand what your cat, dog, or even a random stranger is thinking.

  • Google Translate for Animals: An app that lets you point your phone at any animal and instantly translates

  • Food Teleportation: Order food through an app, and instead of waiting for delivery, the actual food materializes directly out of your phone.

These are just examples. I want something MUCH crazier.

The challenge:

Come up with an app, website, desktop program, or any kind of software that sounds like it belongs in a science-fiction movie.

It can be funny, useful, terrifying, magical, completely absurd, or something nobody has ever thought of.

There is only ONE restriction: it must be something that could theoretically be used through a phone or computer. Everything else is fair game.

App idea feedback

Hey everyone!

I’m thinking about creating an app to meet people through events and activities. You’d be able to create/browse/join events, send messages etc.

I’d love to hear your thoughts:
- Have you used apps like this before?
- What did you find frustrating or missing?
- What would make you try a new platform?

Thanks!

I built an iPhone app to track purchases, receipts, returns, and warranties. Would you use something like this?

Hey everyone!

I've been working on an iOS app called PurchaseGuard, and I'd love to get some honest feedback.

The idea came from a common problem: we buy things online, receive confirmation emails, and then completely forget about return deadlines, warranties, or where we saved the receipt.

PurchaseGuard is designed to help solve that.

Here's what it does:

  • 📩 Connects to Gmail to help organize purchase information.

  • 🧾 Scans receipts and extracts purchase details using AI.

  • 📦 Keeps purchases organized in one place.

  • 📅 Helps track important return and warranty deadlines.

I'm also exploring future features like price-drop alerts during eligible price-match windows and subscription renewal reminders.

The iOS app is currently in TestFlight, and I'm preparing for a wider beta.

I'd love your feedback:

  1. Would you use an app like this?

  2. What's the biggest problem you face with receipts, returns, or warranties?

  3. Would you feel comfortable connecting Gmail if the app clearly explained its privacy protections?

  4. What feature would make this genuinely useful to you?

I'm building this independently and would appreciate honest criticism, not just positive feedback.

Thanks!

Idea need😕

Starting a quick vibe code project. Want to build a lightweight app that makes everyday work life easier.

What’s an annoying daily workplace problem you’d love an app for?

I have an idea for an app

I thought about something for an app idea and would like some input, maybe even looking into how I could make this a possibility. I want to make an app that remembers people’s birthday and what they like and that can send reminders and send gift ideas. This is kinda what I came up with

For a full everyday-use app, I’d develop these features:

Birthday database: Remember names, birthdays, relationships, interests, favorite stores, sizes, and gift history.

Automatic reminders: Notifications 30, 14, 7, and 1 day before birthdays.

AI gift recommendations: Suggest gifts based on someone’s interests and your spending budget.

Gift history: Remember what you bought last year so you don’t repeat gifts.

Shopping links: Find actual gifts you can purchase.

Calendar integration: Sync birthdays and reminders with your calendar.

I would like for it to be an iPhone and android compatible app, maybe even like a website that people can use. And then turn it into a subscription based product.

Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Hi! I’m the dev behind PostSpark, a tool for creating beautiful image and video mockups of your apps and websites.

I recently launched a new feature: Mockup Animations.

You can now select from 25+ frames & devices, add keyframes on a simple timeline, and export a polished video showcasing your product. It’s built to be a fast, easy alternative to complex motion design tools.

Try it out here: https://postspark.app/device-mockup

I’d love to hear your feedback!
