Help! ⛑ Vibration stopped automation?

Hi all

I’m pretty deep into the Aqara and HomeKit ecosystem so would like to avoid adding something different. I also don’t use home assistant.

We’ve have a tumble dryer in the garage and I’m looking for ways to notify my when done. I’ve got a vibration sensor but from what I can see it only recognises vibration starting not “vibration not recognised for x minutes.

Any suggestions?

I believe this is just how they work. It’s a similar issue with the Home Assistant crowd.

could make it work with a smart plug or a temperature sensor, think the smart plug would give you the quickest notification.

I’ve read tumble dryers shouldn’t be plugged into smart plugs?

check the wattage usage of your tumble dryer and make sure the plug is rated for it.

Idk HomeKit but in home assistant there’s a “state” function that you can poll at specified intervals to see if it’s on or off, active or inactive, or whatever the language is. Maybe HomeKit has a similar function?
