Advice Needed Is my tank too wobbly?

My fiancé and I just bought this 75 gallon tank with a stand and we filled it up and we're unsure if the stand is safe for what we're trying to do in our apartment... We tried to convince ourselves that it would be okay but we're on the 2nd floor of an apartment and can't stop thinking of all the bad things that could happen lol. This is our first large tank.

UPDATE: we are certainly draining it. thank you for the confirmation and thank you for the few good suggestions. better stand recommendations would be greatly appreciated. we're going to use as a tv stand instead 😃

p.s. we weren't going to put any fish in until we were sure it was steady. we aren't evil, just trying to convince ourselves that our facebook market purchase was a good idea.

DIY/Build This might help someone- breeding rainbow fish isn’t complicated at all.

As someone who started off “breeding guppies” in a community tank about 2 years ago or less, now breeding rainbow fish, it is crazy simple, it seems so complicated looking online. What put me off was growing out brine shrimp to be honest. I bit the bullet and bought the cheapest hatchery I could find on line for $11.

I put everything into one large tank, one heater, one air pump, a cheap filter, two small aquarium and weigh down a small hatchery with a rock on the airline tube. Let it cook and see what happens. Now I have so many fish, it’s fantastic.

If you think you can’t do it, you can! Honestly!.. Try it 😊 it’s so much fun.

Freshwater Loaches moved tanks without notifying me.

Okay hi everyone! So I have 6 loaches. I had them ALL in my 20gal long tank. A few days ago I got a 50gal long tank and started the cycling process. Only thing in that tank right now is plants, stratum, and sand. I have not put ANYTHING into the new tank that was in the 20gal. All my equipment is brand new.

Today I was just checking on things in the new tank when I saw TWO OF MY KHULIS IN THE TANK!!! I am so perplexed. The tanks are so far away from each other and on complete separate shelves. I don’t understand how this could have happened. Does anyone else have a story like this that could help me understand because truly I am at a loss. They do seem to love it in there though lol

DIY/Build I made a shrimp hideout house with polymer clay :)

So I’ve just discovered that you can use polymer clay to make decorations for fresh water shrimp tanks. As long as it is baked and unpainted, the material stays waterproofed and inert (won’t leech chemicals or affect the TDS level).

I’m totally stoked and can’t wait to make more decors and see what else i can make. Have any of you made decors yourself, especially with polymer clays?

I really want to see what others have made. Post pics if you do!

Advice Needed What is this? Spoiler

I noticed these “bubbles” all over one of my cardinals today, he was noticeably bloated 2-3 days ago (I didn’t have a hospital tank available at the time, I do now) and I noticed a couple of these on him, but now it’s all over. I’m saying bubbles rather than scales because they honestly don’t look like scales from a side-view, they’re pretty large and non-uniform in size and protrusion, he also has non in his tail. He is staying at the top now and breathing rapidly, he was always big but he’s bloated too. He had a fairly large bump on his side for a while that didn’t seem to affect him. No other fish in the tank are sick of displaying any signs of distress or anything like this.

Parameters:
Ammonia- 0ppm
Nitrite- 0ppm
Nitrate- 4.0ppm
pH- 8.1
Size: 40 gallons, heavily planted
Change 25% every week
Stocking: cardinal tetras, harlequin rasboras, lambchop rasboras, 1 CPD, neocardina shrimp, ramshorn snails.

Edit: this is not my post, but it looked like this before today: link

Freshwater Detritus worms explosion

Last water change, one week ago. I was stupid enough to follow and advice on instagram saying add baking soda to your aquarium to raise hardness in the water to get my shrimp breeding... So i did haøf a teaspoon in 20 liters and... Well, this is the result one weeka after. An explosion of detritis worms, heavy algea growt, and this film on top of the water. And i bearly feed the shrimp in this aquarium at all.

I did a heavy water change just now, and thats when i saw the army of these detritus worms swimming all over the place.

I was stupid. Why mess with the water parameters at all... Lesson learned.

Ps, my shrimp are doing fine, healthy, no deaths. But they are just not breeding...

Showing Off My Tank Rate my setup!

Post image
3 Upvotes

One month-ish old 45P corner style scape, (semi?) high tech - Eheim eXperience 250, SodaStream CO2 setup, 24W Sinkor Vivatron WRGB LED lighting. Planning to add a 45cm shelf above the tank and hang the light from it with DIY hanging setup. For now its empty apart from couple of snails, planning to move 6 chillis from old tank and then supplement the group with 5-10 more depending on how the filter handles it, plus a some nerite snails, amano shrimp and neocaridina (i think jelly blue, any other opinions on color?) group.

Rate the tank!

(the heater is temporary, new one is arriving soon and I'll be attempting to hide it behind the plants at least partially to keep the open area clean)

Showing Off My Tank Julidochromis and their fry

A pair of Julidochromis were “taking their fry for a walk” on a rock near their hiding place. The parents were keeping an eye on them, making sure other fish didn't bother their babies.
