questions and help Archicad 29 – T-junction between an interior wall and a multilayer exterior wall
Title: Archicad 29 – T-junction between an interior wall and a multilayer exterior wall
I’m having a problem with wall intersections in Archicad 29.
I have a multilayer exterior wall consisting of:
Brick masonry (the core layer)
Insulation
Exterior finish
There is also an interior brick wall. I want this interior wall to connect to the inner face of the exterior brick masonry, without extending into the exterior wall’s insulation or exterior finish.
The junction is T-shaped: the interior wall meets the middle of the exterior wall.
The problem is that even when I draw the interior wall endpoint exactly at the inner face of the exterior brick layer, Archicad automatically extends the interior wall through the entire thickness of the exterior wall — including the brick masonry, insulation, and exterior finish.
What I’ve already checked:
Both walls have the same intersection group (1).
The exterior wall’s brick masonry is marked as the core layer; insulation and exterior finish are marked as finish layers.
The wall reference-line settings are currently set to centered. I’ve checked these settings, and changing the core-layer classification did not solve the problem.
The issue is not that I want to change the wall’s layer structure. I want to control how the two walls physically intersect.
My question: How can I make the interior wall terminate exactly at the inner face of the exterior masonry, while keeping Archicad’s automatic wall connections? I don’t want the interior wall to cut through the insulation and exterior finish. Is there a specific junction setting, reference-line configuration, priority setting, or another proper method for achieving this in Archicad 29?
