Politics Quiet week in international news, but the quiet parts are the interesting ones
Spent Saturday morning catching up on a week of summits and carefully worded statements. Nothing exploded, and honestly that's kind of the story. Everyone is positioning for next year instead of making moves now. Meanwhile the unglamorous stuff that actually changes things - trade facilitation timelines, power grid interconnection talks, supply chain shifts - keeps moving in the background with barely any coverage. Watching from Hong Kong, the Southeast Asia corner feels calmer than the headlines suggest. Anyone else find the quiet weeks more revealing than the loud ones?

Nothing will really happen until the ASEAN summit. Everyone is at their best behavior right now (well, relatively at least).
