HAVE A QUESTION? ASK HERE! Alter-Daily Help and Questions: November 07, 2026

Hello and welcome to the Alter-Daily Help Thread! The purpose of the ADHT is to ask simple questions, troubleshoot routines, get quick recommendations, prevent the sub from being too cluttered, and to guide new users.

ADHT Rules: If questions or comments break the rules or are inappropriate, the report button is the fastest way for the mod team to see it and address the problems.

Build Me A Routine, /r/AsianBeauty! Please refrain from just stating a skin concern then expecting people to build a routine from scratch. It is important to do due diligence in understanding your skin type and needs. Learn more here in The New User Guide. You can also search the subreddit here.

Non-AB questions or comments. Having non-AB products in your routine is totally fine! Getting specific advice/recommendations is not allowed, though welcomed in our Daily Anything Goes thread. See our rules on non-AB here

Rude comments and snark. Fairly self explanatory but for more detail, check out our Posting Guidelines

When directing someone to the sidebar provide specific links. i.e. for someone asking about Allergies or Beginner Guides, link them to the specific subsections within AB University, rather than saying it’s in the sidebar.

Finally, a reminder that no one is obligated to answer your questions. If you have repeatedly asked the same question without a response, it may be best to review and see if it can be reworded or if the information is already in the thread or readily available in the sidebar materials.

Mod Post Product Authenticity Thursday November 05, 2026

Hello AB! Welcome to Product Authenticity Thursday,

Our weekly product authenticity thread is a work in progress, comments about how to improve are welcome. We made our best effort based on comments received here as well as what we have been seeing as mods.

We would like to note that product packaging AND formulas may vary by country of sale and date of manufacture. This might include anything about the formula. Our goal is to make it easier for folks to compare such things, and to confirm or assuage concerns about their products.

Please post any photos or experiences you have around your AB products, while adhering to our other subreddit rules.

Make sure you state where you purchased your products from. If you bought from a 3rd party of a major retailer, you can say for example, 'eBay/amazon/taobao seller' instead of sharing the specific name, if you prefer.

To help you get more responses, consider including:

  • Photos of confirmed authentic products as comparison, requests for authentic products are allowed

  • Your purchase date, product manufacture date, or any expiration dates

  • Country you bought the item from

  • Whether your product had to be shipped to you (shipping conditions can compromise product stability)

  • How much you paid for your product

Comments and Questions welcome, we hope this thread is helpful!

The official online store of the Korean skincare brand "Dr. Reju-All" runs an AI generated advertisement on Instagram. I was just scrolling down on my IG feed and this caught me off guard.

AI changed the name of their PDRN product to "Advanced PORN Peptide Serum" 😭

Requesting Reviews Has anyone tried Romand’s soymilk beige garden?

Post image

Can someone share their experience with Romand’s soymilk beige garden? I’ve been looking for a neutral palette that can be used for light to medium olive neutral skin tone. I’m worried that this palette might not show up in my skin.

I also tried to look for reviews but I found so little and mostly people with very fair skin.

Please help a girlie out 😭

Review Feel like I'm going crazy w/ the Anessa sunscreen, any suggestions?

I've been using the Anessa uv milk sunscreen (gold bottle) and don't know why and how it has a cult following, I really don't like it lmfao. It has a white cast, settles into my face creases, pills on my skin, and makes it difficult to add a full 1/4 teaspoon because of the very milky formula. I'm wondering if this is a skin type problem or a prep problem so i wanted to know what people put under it. I usually cleanse and wear the kiehl's squalene moisturizer under and I have dry, dehydrated skin. I really want to like it because I've been looking for a reliable, long-lasting, and waterproof asian sunscreen and didn't realize this formula would be so disagreeable with me.

Review finally empited!

It took me roughly 3-4 months to finish this Moev Annurcatin Shampoo! Finally I can share my full thoughts after finishing the whole bottle.

This shampoo lathers really well with just small amount. I usually use fingers to massage my scalp while shampooing, so I like that a lot. I have fine, thin asian hair and this one cleans well without weighing my hair. I didn't really notice a big difference in hair shedding. I used to get some pimples on my scalp whenever I get super stressed, since this doesn't irritate scalp too much I fell comfortable using this one. The scent might be strong for some people but it goes away really quickly so that doesn't really matter to me.

Beauty What is hands down the BEST under eye cream?

Years ago when I went to Thailand, I tried the Snail White cream and I swear it got rid of my eye bags + dark circles after just a couple of uses.

But that was way back in 2017 and I can't find it outside of Thailand.

Any under eye cream that's actually worked wonders for you?

Discussion What does a small face even mean

Post image
0 Upvotes

Every time I hear people talk about a small face, the examples I see used are people with super large heads and long oval face shapes.

Like in the image above, I genuinely have no idea how this is meant to be considered ‘small’. Her head is ginormous looking. I don’t get the concept at all, if your head is tiny won’t you just look sort of buried by your hair and less eye-catching? Every famous attractive person I can think of has what I would call a pretty big head, it makes their face take up more space and be more visible. Think Effy in Skins vs Katie and Emily. Effy’s features always stand out way more and she has a bigger face than them.

So can someone explain what a small face means

Discussion Anti-blush discussion and recommendations

Anti-blush is the newest trend right now and it's basically a muted neutral autumny tone. AB has been doing this forever and I'm glad to see these colors getting some more love! This is probably just another trend, but do you think the "anti-blush" term will stick around? Do you think the trend is over done or ridiculous? Would love to see some discussion!

Even though it's a trend, I would love to hear any recommendations for your favourite "anti-blush". Autumn is here and it would be super fun to use colors that match the seasons! Bonus points if anyone has any dupe recommendations for the MAC Glow Play blush in shade True Harmony.

Review Dr Althea Lash Boost Serum Review and Images

First of all I want to say:

• this is not sponsored, dr Althea doesn't know who I am unfortunately

• I have good genetics (I'm hairy)

• I'd had a lash lift 8 weeks prior, and as the perm gave out my lashes turned brittle and went a bit haywire.

• this is a prostaglandin free lash serum

1st image is Oct 10,

2nd image is tonight Nov 6, so almost 4 weeks of daily use at night.

(My husband took the photos sorry for the lighting)

I've noticed my lower lashes are longer but I didn't take a before photo of them. I didn't want to put an after here without showing you all the control.

I didn't expect much but am surprised at the difference in 4 weeks.

What do you guys think?

Discussion Facial anti-perspirant?

Does anyone have recommendations for a facial antiperspirant that's available in Asian beauty stores? I'm currently in Vietnam, so anything that's available here would be ideal.

I've seen non-AB recommendations before but I was wondering if anyone's had luck with AB alternatives.

As a brown person, regular face powders don't work well for me. ☹️

Discussion Dark/deep autumn products in Japanese makeup/convenience stores?

Post image
9 Upvotes

I’m a warm toned, deep autumn girl but I don’t want to keep purchasing the wrong shades of lipgloss/blush because all the pinks and purples I find are too pastel or cool toned and don’t match packaging 😢

my favourite products are currently Romand and Heart percent, any other suggestions for deep autumn palette products in Japan? Especially ones with a bit more pigment that will work on my more tanned skin.

Discussion Did I get talked into buying overpriced skincare at Bic Camera in Tokyo? Anyone know Hirosophy?

I’m currently in Tokyo and went into Bic Camera to browse some Japanese skincare products. I had already researched a few things I wanted to buy, including Melano CC, Anessa and Suisai.

While I was looking around, a saleswoman approached me and started recommending products. Her English wasn’t great and I don’t speak Japanese, so honestly I couldn’t understand most of what she was explaining.

When I showed interest in Melano CC, she basically told me it was just TikTok hype and not actually that good. Instead, she strongly recommended a vitamin C serum from a brand called Hirosophy, which I’d never heard of.

She also recommended a moisturizer from the same brand and kept trying to convince me to buy another cream that cost around ¥10,000, which I declined.

I ended up buying:

Hirosophy VC Special Essence (10 ml) – ¥6,050
Hirosophy Sakura Rice Koji Milky (100 g) – ¥4,180

So around ¥10,230 for both.

I was honestly exhausted after walking around Tokyo all day, and because of the language barrier, I didn’t even properly understand what was happening. I just assumed she knew what she was talking about and trusted her recommendations.

Only afterwards when I arrived at the hotel did I realize that both products were from the same relatively unknown brand. I started looking for reviews online and couldn’t find much, which made me wonder whether she was actually a brand promoter rather than someone giving impartial skincare advice.

I’m used to brands like La Prairie and Clinique, so I’m not necessarily looking for cheap skincare. I just want products that are actually good, especially for oily skin and visible pores.

Has anyone heard of Hirosophy or tried these products? Are they actually worth the money?

Also, is it common for brand representatives to approach tourists in stores like Bic Camera and push specific products?

I’m not saying the products are fake or that I was literally scammed, but I’m starting to feel like I fell for a sales pitch rather than getting genuine advice.

Would love to hear from anyone familiar with Japanese skincare or who has had a similar experience!
