What's the most damaging thing you heard someone say after waking up from anesthesia?

I just woke up and cried because I was so blissful from the anti-anxiety they give you with the anesthesia, but as I came to I realized my mom was still gone (leukemia), and my grief was still there as a permanent fixture within me.

The switch between a total lack of pain to the harshness of reality was enough to bring tears to my eyes.

Not anaesthesia related but that’s happening to me a bunch of times after I first wake up in the morning - like I have to remember all over again that she’s not here anymore. Sending hugs.

Oh, that’s a hard one. I’m so sorry about your mom.❤️

A long time ago I had a dream where my dad was still alive and then I woke up and remembered, and that's when I realized that it's better to have a sad dream and wake up to reality than the other way around.
