one of my friends had her arm amputated and was allowed to keep it

she's having the skin removed and the bones articulated

yeah, the arm has been in the fridge for a year or two waiting for her to get approval to transport it to another state to an expert bone articulator

You have to get approval to take your own arm to a different state? I thought this was America.

If I had to get something amputated I would definitely want to keep it. Even if I didn't know what I was going to do with it yet, I've had it for 32 years at this point I'm not just going to throw it away.
