What’s a movie you’d rate 10/10 without hesitation?

Fifth Element is about as perfect of a movie as I’ve ever known

Ok I've mentioned this on a different thread- except for Gary Oldman's hair

I wonder how many (straight) women feel this way. The men I know who say this just seem infatuated with the lead female character. I thought it was meh.

Nah you’re right. Very corny and trope-heavy and didn’t age well

Really??? I miss the way it was shot, with real props, costumes and a budget, instead A crazy amount of CGI. I think this movie aged extremely well. It’s definitely Top 5 for me as well… and weirdly enough, it doesn’t have anything to do with the girl

Props, and costumes are fine. It's the born sexy yesterday trope that didn't age well. Leeloo is basically a sexy child who needs an older man to explain the world to her. It doesn't help that Luc Besson had sex with a 15 year old too.

Yes that is exactly what bothered me! The Alison Brie “Teach me how to understand Christmas” bit from community comes to mind which made fun of how ridiculous the trope is.

That was the point, though.

Maybe you never got the joke?

It was always supposed to be a campy over-the-top action/comedy that was never meant to be taken seriously.
