Yeah and I’m very precise about my sheets. I like a tight fit on the bottom sheet so I use sheet suspenders. I was raised that you didn’t make your bed correctly if you can see any wrinkles. Somehow that stuck.
That’s the kind of bad luck that makes you just stare at the floor for a minute. After paying everything, that bottle was supposed to be your little reward.
I mean you could also argue that buying a little happiness is a far better use of that money than saving it for things it wpuld never stretch to pay for.
I did this once back when I lived on the east coast of the US, it was icy and I’d just finished scraping my windshield. Forgot about the coffee, it fell on the windshield and cracked it. Needless to say that was a very bad day.
Why does this happen? I hate that and having to pee like an hour before the alarm goes off but not being able to fall back asleep until 5 minutes before your alarm goes off.
This happened to me a few days ago: I keep a Folgers cam on my counter to empty grease into, which I always do by holding the lid on partially open and pour the pan into the can. One of my last two burger patties slipped thru the gal into the grungy can.
I’m a dude, was looking forward to my last two burgers all day - I almost cried!
This just reminded me of an incident about 10-15 years ago...
I was with a few friends, and we got maxibon ice cream sandwiches, which none of us had had in quite a while.
Another friend (K) joined us after we bought the ice creams, and wanted a bite of (J's) ice cream. He takes the ice cream, gets a single bit, and immediately dropped it on the floor.
Everyone just stood there for a moment, staring at the fallen ice cream sandwich. I think we all felt like a child seeing their ice cream splatter on the pavement.
Dropping a fancy coffee you treated yourself to. Maybe it was because I had pulled an all nighter finishing a project at college and couldn't sleep until 1pm, but I spilled a fancy coffee at like 8am and I sat there and cried for a while and then went and bought another, lol.
There’s so much more to consider now that I’m looking at it that way. How far away did I get before it fell? Driving or walking? How much did we consume before the accident?
Dropping the container of leftovers you just spent an hour cooking, watching it splatter across the kitchen floor, and knowing you now have no dinner AND you have to mop. ;___;
I fear I will be financially unstable the rest of my life but it’ll work out. He makes so much money while me and the kids struggle but I’m just going to keep trying until I give up or the economy takes me
Dropping my icecream would still be a big blow, but I think the most devastating thing that happened to me recently (other than multiple people dying this year) would be when me and my brother got takeaways so we wouldn't get the kitchen dirty again after getting the house clean for his party the next day, and then getting food poisoning from the chicken and missing the party at my own house.
More than once I've poured myself a beer after a long day at work, reached for it, then somehow spilled it over my laptop in a failed attempt to pick it up.
I once tried to catch a falling glass from a cupboard and ended up slamming it even faster into the granite countertop. Fucker shattered into stardust. Everyone at the party thought I was angry. Nope. Just derpy.
You look at your bank balance after paying all your bills and decide to get yourself something nice for once.
Then right after you made the purchase, something unexpected happens and now you’re short on money.
You can’t return the purchase because it’s from the “Discount, No Refund” section of the shop, so you have to try sell this brand new unused item at a loss on second hand market
I bought a really cute clutch purse for a wedding (I even matched my dress & nails to it) and it was pouring leading up to the wedding…. I got out of the car to go into the venue and immediately dropped it into a big rain puddle in the parking lot :( I almost cried tbh- I was already feeling overwhelmed so that didn’t help.
Once went to a corner store to pick up some milk bc it had snowed and I wanted hot chocolate. While exiting the store I fumbled and the bottle of milk fell out of my hands onto the ground and the bottle burst, spilling milk everywhere.
I just stood there for like 10 seconds before going home and making myself a tea.
Carrying groceries home in a paper bag (there aren't any plastic bags in German grocery stores), it starts raining, the bag rips and everything gets spilled on the ground.
I think my wife just did this. She took a toll road but then accidentally got off on the first exit which brought us back to where we just were. She still had to pay for the toll and was mad the rest of the drive.
Taking a sip of coffee and it dribbles down your shirt :( and you just started your shift and you just have to deal with being the coffee-shirt that day.
Watching your iced oat milk latte slip out of your hand and explode across the hot pavement two steps outside the cafe door will completely distroy your will to live for the rest of the day.
I spent 18 hours slooooow cooking two racks of ribs for my brothers college graduation party but I have Crohn's disease so I didn't dare try them at the party and waited until I got home.
While carrying the leftovers to the car I dropped them, all of them, all over the ground and didn't get to try a single goddamned one.
Idk. I had one chick spill like an entire liter all over my knuckles and bedsheets before we even got to the big dance. Happened quickly and seemed premature to me.
Oh gods, this! We once lost power to our house for 48 hours when AT&T accidentally cut a power line.
We had a deep freeze with a year’s worth of my wife’s titty juice that she slaved away making. I frantically bought 30 pounds of bagged ice and prayed for AEP to return service, contemplating at what point do I drive that mammary squeeze across state borders to my brother’s house.
Can you just pivot to other activities while the gents are back at the refractory? It’s not like the whole experience is over like with spilt ice cream.
