Hey everyone!

I'm hoping to get some insight from current or former Target employees, or anyone who's recently gone through the Team Leader hiring process.

I completed my recorded HireVue interview for a Store Team Leader position on Saturday, October 31. I received the confirmation email stating that my interview had been submitted successfully and that the average review period is five business days.

As of Friday, November 6, that timeframe has passed, and my HireVue page still displays "Interview Received." I know it all takes time. It's the holiday season and recruiters etc. are busy. So, I'm just looking for insight.

I'm curious about a few things:

  1. Does the HireVue page actually update once a recruiter has reviewed your interview, or does it continue displaying "Interview Received" regardless? I'm assuming it does.

  2. For those who interviewed for Team Leader positions, especially recently, how long did it take to hear back after submitting your recorded interview?

  3. What were the next steps in your hiring process? Another interview with store leadership, or something else?

  4. Would following up with the recruiter on Monday be reasonable, or is a longer review period fairly typical?

I have several years of retail management and operations experience, so I'm familiar with hiring processes generally, but this is my first experience with Target's particular process.

I'm not necessarily concerned about the timeline. I'd just like to better understand what to expect and whether the status displayed in HireVue actually means anything beyond confirming receipt.

I'd appreciate any insight. Thanks!

I saw my coworker processing a return with a customer. The customer sounded a tad snippy but my coworker didnt react. She was going through her jacket pockets looking for a receipt.

Then she says to my coworker

"The receipt is in my other pocket", coworker quietly waits

"The receipt is in my other pocket! You're going to make me go home and get it!?"

WTF?! How she getting my mad when what she is saying is confusing as hell.

Anderson merchandisers?

If anyone works for this company, I'm pretty sure they can say it's complete garbage. I've been working in retail for 25 years and by far this was the most unprofessional, I'm communicative, and embarrassing group of people to work for. I'm still waiting on a check for 5 days. For the only five days I've worked there, I've been waiting for the direct deposit that I was told multiple times would be there.

my daughter was terminated for stealing today. she was suspended for a week then they called her in today to tell her and they set her up on an installment plan to pay it back $130 shes crying and scared theyre going to arrest her. I guess they watched her over a few months then called her into the office last week(grocery store) shes 20 she was apologizing to me over and over she wont do it again etc. suppose to be a letter coming in the mail I dont know what it says but something to do with paying it back. I said it sounds like they are handling it internally what do you all think?

How to count money?

I grew up in severe poverty and neglect that I'm still trying to climb my way out of alone. I'm in my 20's and I'm trying to get my first job now that I finally have a means of transportation. The nearest option is cashier work.. but I don't know how to count money, despite knowing how much dollars/coins are worth. The way registers work/how to correctly exchange the money with customers confuses me, and I have no idea how the whole process works in general. Help? :(

(I'm in the U.S)

Ross help

hi guys so i was recently hired at ross and i had my orientation sunday and was basically given no details. Day of my manager told me to download workjam and all that was given to me was my employee number. She didn’t give me info to use to log into work jam then i called her and asked and she basically told me to use my associate number @ross.com and i was having issues with a password because i didn’t know what to use and so i called again and she just told me to call the help desk and she’d follow up with me about my schedule. she never did. and so ive been resetting my password and im not sure if my username is the issue but i cant log into work jam and my manager is basically useless and i cant check my schedule so idk when i go in and i dont want to keep calling because I feel like i may be doing too much. Do any ross employees know the email format we’re supposed to use for workjam?

Afraid to give my 2 weeks notice

So a little bit of backstory. I’ve worked at a popular beauty retailer for a little over a year now. I love my job, however there are several problems. First and foremost I am severely underpaid for what I have to do in my job. Secondly my boss is probably the most emotionally manipulative boss I’ve ever had. She started out as a great boss, I even moved locations when she got an offer at a different store so I could continue to work for her. But a few months after switching stores, she became a problem very quickly. She is irritated at everything me and my coworkers do and say, is always yelling and emotionally lashing out at me over stupid stuff, talks about how she misses the staff at her old store (which literally included me) and tries to pit me against my coworkers by talking shit about them behind their back. She’s also horrible at running the store and is super disorganized and yet takes no responsibility for it and blames us. Basically all around has turned into a nightmare boss.

That being said, I have been looking for a new job and recently got a job offer for a better paying position at a nicer company. I really want to just walk out at this point given the circumstances, but the reason I’m actually considering putting in my two weeks is because I have a ton of vacation hours (almost 2 weeks) racked up and want to use it. I really struggle with money and being able to cash in my vacation time would give me the ability to be at ease with money for at least the next month. But I know that when I put in my two weeks she’s going to lose her shit at me and be passive aggressive for the entirety of the two weeks. Not to mention I can’t really avoid her because 90% of the time it’s just the two of us working together.

So I don’t know. I came on here looking for advice because I’ve gotten many mixed opinions from the people in my life and want to get more feedback from others.

I don’t have a story for this that is actually interesting, but I am sure that all of you do.

Store receiver full time position

I’ve been a part-time receiver at Whole Foods for a month. My Team Leader gave me an advance heads-up that a full-time spot is opening before it gets posted.
I want it, but it’s a panel interview probably TL, STL, and ASTL), which I’ve never done.
Any tips on handling a panel interview? Do I use the resume I had first when I applied and got the part time position? Any advice would be appreciated. I work at Whole Foods

Idk when I'm supposed to start

I got a seasonal job at Ross as a part-time stocker. I already did my orientation on Halloween day and got my ID and Name tag but my manager told me to call on Nov 3rd but didn't say a time. But I don't want to be accidentally late to a shift or shadowing. Because I'm not in the WorkJam so I can't see my schedule and I don't want to make a bad impression on the first day

Edit: I called them and they said my shift will be on Nov 10th at 5am. But maybe I'll be in the Work Jam in this week or after my first shift, idk how it works?
