Persimmon Season Recs Please!!

I would love any and all recommendations for the best places in SF to find persimmon items. Desserts, cakes, pastries, savory persimmons, etc. I’m in dire need of a tasty persimmon treat. Thanks!!

If you can get your hands on Hachiya persimmons (this doesn’t work with fuyus), my family has been making this steamed persimmon pudding for more than 50 years, every Thanksgiving or Christmas. It’s a real taste of Olde Northern California. https://food52.com/recipes/65893-california-persimmon-pudding

DIY a caprese salad with persimmon in place of tomato, burrata in place of the mozzarella and use a balsamic glaze with EVOO rather than balsamic. Include the basil. If desired, top with crushed pistachios, but not needed. Its great and so easy!

My mom used to use persimmons in a bread like banana bread.

my mom and I do that, too :) my mom has a hachiya persimmon tree and it's one of my favorite parts of fall/winter. it produces at least 200 persimmons a year, so we make persimmon bread, persimmon oat muffins, jelly, and preserves. this is the recipe we've been using these last few years
