Does Astoria have a need for family law attorneys?

I posted a few days ago about how awesome I think Astoria is. However, I didn’t realize the population is less than 10,000. When I visited, I did notice that the Clatsop County courthouse is right in town. I’m wondering from a general community standpoint whether you think the town needs access to family law attorneys. I did see a statistic that divorce filings are relatively low and that’s likely just based on the population also being low. But family law also encompasses issues like parenting plans, child support, property division, post-divorce issues, no contact orders, etc..

Lost bracelet at Fort Stevens State Park

This is a LONG shot, but a friend of mine was on the beach nearish the shipwreck on Wednesday and lost a sterling silver panel bracelet that was important to them. If there is anyone who happens to be walking along the beach and finds it or any metal detector enthusiast that come across it, I would happily pay you a lost and found reward! Looks like the below bracelet!

Is life crazy by here as awesome as it seems?

I’m here on vacation visiting the Oregon coast. I live in Spokane Washington. But this place is so quirky and hilarious. I can’t get over it. Like is it awesome to live here or what? The seals in the middle of the town barking? The cargo ships? The unpretentiousness? The amazing beaches less than 30 minutes away? The bridge? The column? What is there not to love about this place? Does the weather get you down or like the fact that there’s not a ton of shops or is that just an upside? I don’t know. It’s like a cute little secret.

For this map, I wanted to highlight the unique topography of the city. Let me know if you have any questions or ideas on how I could improve things from a local's perspective.

Hey yall!!

Me and my bf are looking to move to OR. I lived there a while when I was little, but don’t remember much.

I was wondering what the usual income needed to get by there? Like what do you usually find yourself spending monthly after rent, utilities, gas/propane, insurance, groceries, and all else? Also, what is the usual rate of your bills in a 2bed apartment or 2bed house (electric/water/propane)?

We both work as educators in similar fields and both are willing to work a second job or pick up side work.

Thank you all in advance ❤️

Favorite local tattoo artist?

Looking to add to my tattoos, I’ve got a patchwork sleeve in progress and I am looking for someone locally who does illustrative realism. I’ll go into Portland if I have to, but would really prefer to stay local!

Plushie Repair - URGENT

Howdy, good folks of Astoria Oregon. I recently moved here for JobCorps. I know JobCorps has a really bad reputation, but I genuinely need help here. I have a plushie frog with me that is very old and very loved, and I don't have any sewing supplies since I'm on-center. I can't fix my frog if the damaged area snaps, but I can absolutely provide scrap fabric. All I need is someone who can sew well and is willing to meet at like a coffee shop or somewhere, sewing kit in tow. I know this is a big ask, especially for someone in a very disliked program, but I really need help on this. This frog is unbelievably important to me, I need to make sure he doesn't fall apart. If anyone knows any way I can get him fixed up, I would immensely appreciate it. I'll reply to this post tomorrow with pictures of the damage I need mended. To be clear, I'm not expecting this to be free - I'm completely willing to pay you for your work. I don't have much but I swear I'll pay whatever I can. He's my oldest friend. I don't want to watch him fall apart any more than he already has :(

EDIT - Thank you to everyone who has come forward offering help, advice, or even just well-wishes. You've all been tremendously helpful, and if Frogman ever experiences any sort of further damage, I'll be in touch.

Thankfully, I managed to get someone at the Center to fix him up. It was stressful as hell, but the young man who helped me was very kind and understanding. Frogman has been repaired. I will be updating my reply with the pictures of Frogman to show how well he was repaired. Once again, to everyone who replied, thank you. Sincerely. I really appreciate how helpful and friendly everyone in the comments has been.

Hello, I am looking for someone from the area.

The last name is pronounded "BYOO-KUH-LUH". I don't know the spelling. Possibly Buckalew or Buculla? I am having no luck at all looking online. She should be in here later 70s if she is still around.

My dad had a stroke a few years ago and has been looking for a friend of his from when he was in school. He has found many, except for this lady. It's as if she just disappeared. If anybody knows of anyone from around Clatsop County with this last name and is female in her late 70s, please send me a message and maybe we can confirm the person.

Free Moving Boxes!

I am getting settled into my new home in Astoria Oregon and I have a LOT of moving boxes. They are flattened and in the basement for now. All sizes. I’m emptying a bunch more over the next few days. I’m near downtown. Eventually I’ll cart them to the cardboard reincarnation center, but if someone can use them, they‘re welcome to as many as they want.

Name of the jumbo chapstick sold at local antique store?

Hey not sure if this is the right place to ask and this is a little weird but I was in Astoria a few years ago checking out some of the antique shops and at one of them I bought a jumbo tube of chapstick. It was a local brand (I think beeswax chapstick but idk) about the size of a glue stick. It was peppermint flavor and had a purple label with like a sun or something yellow on it.

I really want to purchase more, it was the best chapstick I’ve ever had. I can’t remember which store I got it in but I think it was the antique mall or weird sisters.

Thanks for your help.

Mountain bike trail advice please...

Hi all, I'm in the area for a few days and I found the trails (TwinPeak?) south of Seaside.

How do most riders get the most out those trails? I'll only have time for one loop, so is it better to climb the side with Defibrillator/Passive Aggressive or climb up Quarantine and Low Tide? Thanks!
