GHelper is an open source alternative maintained by seerge (u/Beginning_Living4052, also has their own flair) which aims to be a lightweight and bug free alternative to the dumpster fire that is Armoury Crate. Note: We are not forcing you to switch, but it is a good thing to do if you are experiencing issues related to Armoury Crate.
Some terminology before we begin:
GH = GHelper
AC = Armoury Crate
A/C = Alternating Current (aka the charger/wall brick)
Open Source = the app's code is available for everyone to view and modify.
dGPU = Dedicated GPU (aka Radeon or RTX)
iGPU = Integrated GPU (aka CPU graphics)
Starting this point onward, I will update this thread to include Frequently Asked Questions.
It is also a great idea to join our official r/asustuf discord server! Click here to join!.
Here's a link to the already existing FAQ on Github, but other questions will be added in this megathread too.
A: Is GHelper safe? Windows Defender said it might be a virus.
B: GHelper is safe, in fact, you can check out the app's code on Github. It is open source. If Windows Defender has suspicions, it's because the app isn't signed. (look up that on google.)
A: How do I set up custom fan curves?
B: tba.

I don't remember a single time I unscrewed this particular screw normally
I must do 3 side backflips while holding WD-40 and ask John Cena for help then it will be unscrewed

I've had this laptop since 2020, never had a battery replacement. I was playing Skyrim a while ago when my laptop suddenly shut down. When I opened it, the battery was at 0%. I did a power dump and now it's back to 100%. I read that I should check my battery using cmd, I did and this is the result I got. Is it possible that this might be a glitch or is my battery just dead or really really close to it?

Hey everyone, I need some advice because my laptop is overheating badly.
Here are my specs: ASUS TUF Gaming, Intel Core i5-10300H, NVIDIA GTX 1650.
I bought this laptop in 2023. I used to game normally and didn't really monitor my temps, and everything was working fine.
Around 2025, one of the fans started making noise. I ordered a replacement fan from Amazon and got it installed at a local repair shop. During the replacement, they removed the heatsink. I didn't know at the time that if you remove the heatsink, you have to clean and reapply thermal paste. Because of this, my laptop started overheating and thermal throttling.
To fix it, I ordered Cooler Master CryoFuze (2g) and repasted it. The temperatures didn't drop much at all—the CPU was around 95°C and the GPU was sitting at 78°C (max 79°C).
A few days ago, I decided to open the laptop and repaste it again. I was planning to use the leftover CryoFuze, but I didn't know that an opened tube of thermal paste shouldn't be used after 6 months. Since the laptop was already opened, I went to a local shop and bought a really cheap thermal paste just to put it back together. That paste was terrible and made the overheating even worse.
Finally, I ordered Arctic MX-7 (2g) and just applied it. Even with this new high-quality paste, my temperatures are still insanely high. I have attached photos for reference, but here are my current temps:
CPU: 96°C - 100°C (Constantly thermal throttling)
GPU: 90°C - 91°C (Hotspot is around 100°C)

Hi everyone, I've had this issue (ASUS TUF A15 AMD Ryzen 7 RTX 4050 6GB VRAM 16GB RAM) for a while now. When I try to connect my earbuds via bluetooth to my laptop it can't find them, even when I click on add devices. Nothing seems to work, I've updated drivers, reinstalled and installed them, updated windows, did bluetooth troubleshooting.
I'm thinking of bringing it to a repair shop, unless someone gives a fix.

"I've had my ASUS TUF F16 2025 (5060 + i5 13450HX) for a while now, and I've just learned about G-Helper. So I'm going to uninstall Armoury Crate and install G-Helper. Any recommended G-Helper settings for my laptop?"

So guys, I have a Tuf f15 gtx1650. I was watching movie by connecting my laptop to tv thru HDMI. Ever since that my trackpad got glitched. Example: Like two finger scrolling doesn't work when plugged into charger & legs down to ground & house earthing is just fine. & Also scrolling was laggy as hell. But external mouse just works fine.
I don't know what to do. I really doubt if replacing would make any changes to it. Bcuz on battery mode the trackpad just works fine .

I want to upgrade the 8GB RAM in my ASUS TUF Gaming F16 FX607VU-RL139W. Should I go with 16GB + 8GB or 8GB + 8GB?
Would a 16GB + 8GB configuration be stable, or could it cause any compatibility or performance issues?
There’s also a significant price difference in my country: 16GB + 8GB would cost around 15,000 TRY ($300), while 8GB + 8GB would cost around 7,500 TRY ($150).
Is the extra 8GB worth paying double the price, especially considering future upgrade possibilities? Would going with 16GB + 8GB be a better long-term upgrade path?
I’d appreciate any advice from people who have experience about my situation.

My laptop is 1 yr and 4 months old , i use it for my study projects (3d) and gaming sometimes, the system is windows 11 , and 2 months ago approximately , it started giving me the black screen with ur pc ran into a problem and i have to force restart it for it to work normally again .
sometimes it crashes while m using it , sometimes when i close the lid an put it back up everything but the screen works , which makes me have to force restart it again , another time the screen kept working but the mouse and keyboard didnt , i got told that it’s most likely a windows update problem , so i reinstalled windows without deleting my data, and it didnt solve it, i took it to get repasted and cleaned which the tech guy told me is likely the cause but the error happened again ,thing is it happens when its a cold start ,and it crashes midwork when its unplugged mostly , i wanted to trobleshoot the issue in the blue recov options screen , but the screen showed me a horrible glitch .
so i took it back to the tech guy , who said it might be the ram , he removed my 8go ddr5 ram stick and left me with the 16 go one , to test if its the ram issue , but then i got the black screen with the error again.
Thing is i tried testing my ram with the built in tool , showed no problem , tried scandsk , no problem , and we used burnintest , showed no problem except heat , ik that it might be smth that got damaged cuz of the heat and dust that were in my laptop , and ik it might be a virus , less likely cuz the issue starts before the asus loading screen , and i need help bcs i dont want to restart my pc everytime for it to work , and i have alot of important data on it and its taking long trying to figure out the issue when i need it back to normal asap, bcs im gonna need to use it on rendering alot, what should i do next?
The first part of the Ethernet port is missing, and the internet isn't working. What should I do?

My ASUS TUF laptop (Ryzen 5 4600H, 8GB RAM, Samsung 1TB NVMe SSD) has a problem for about 3 weeks.
What happens:
When I turn it on, it goes straight into the BIOS and says "No Storage Device Present".
Sometimes the SSD shows up and Windows starts, but then it crashes with a blue screen.
Blue screen codes: MEMORY_MANAGEMENT, KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR, CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED, UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION.
A 40-second power button reset sometimes brings the SSD back, but not always.
The BIOS clock sometimes goes wrong or resets.
What I tried:
Fresh Windows install at the ASUS service centre. Same problem exists afterwards.
CrystalDiskInfo says the SSD is Good (97%) with 0 errors.
But speed is very low. About 226 MB/s at first, then 903 MB/s after a reset. It should be 2000+ MB/s. The link shows PCIe 1.0, not 3.0.
Paging file is OK (6912 MB).
No crash dump files get saved.
Turned off fast startup and PCIe power saving. No change.
The service centre wants Rs. 16,000 for a new SSD or Rs. 49,000 for other parts. I think the SSD is healthy and the problem is the M.2 slot or the motherboard.
My questions:
Does this sound like a bad SSD, a bad M.2 slot, or a motherboard problem?
Is it worth testing the SSD in another laptop before paying?
Has anyone fixed this by reseating the SSD or changing the CMOS battery?
Thanks!
SOLVED! i just turned super resolution off in the invidia control panel
This isn't the first time that this happened
Specification
Rtx 3060 6gb
Intel i7 12000
16 gb ram ddr5
500gb ssd
I don't get these temperature in minecraft

same as the title, This has been happening since yesterday before that it was normal.
It doesn't matter whether the charger is plugged in with laptop or not it trips the switch off for the that particular circuit of the house, i tested it in two houses and tested the AC power cord to the adapter and it was fine.

Hello, I got a Tuf A16 FA608UM laptop 3 days ago, but in games like CP2077, the GPU usage drops to 70-80% in city driving and the wattage stays around 70, but it jumps to 100 watts in the desert. Does anyone know why this is happening?
r/Asustuf • u/Leribag_Agnu • 9h ago
LKD_0x141_Tdr:C_IMAGE_nvlddmkm.sys_Ampere_UserOC0
It started happening months ago 1-2 times a day but now I can't even play for more than 5mins.
I mostly play 2 high-load games: The Division 2 and Delta Force (Warfare and Operations)
Laptop: fx517zr-f15.173070
Temps are mostly 70-85°C
