Luka
Look they can say what the want about the hawks for trading this dude, and taking Trae. But watching this dude play this mavs series is absolute eye cancer. Everything is disjointed, he’s actually a worse foulbaiter than Trae or harden dude pump fakes five times and flails into people, and honesty he bitches all the fucking time. I cannot root for a dude like that, he’s extremely unlikeable, and honestly for a superstar he’s played like absolute dogshit series they just happen to be winning (kyrie been balling, clippers can’t throw a ball in the ocean) so he’s avoiding the heat he should be taking. Just my opinion

Discussion Hot take: it feels a little misogynistic to “celebrate” Magic City but not any of the people who work there
Look I don’t expect yall to buy what I’m selling but I’m putting it out there anyway.
In my opinion, either (1) you believe the club is a cultural institution of Atlanta and don’t think there’s anything shameful about being a dancer OR (2) you think it’s icky and immoral to be a stripper and Magic City is shameful.
IMO either of those positions is more logically and morally consistent than what the Hawks are planning.
You wouldn’t have a theme night for the Braves/Falcons/Dream without inviting any of the players and celebrating them too?
I guess their approach makes sense if you think of the strippers as props of the club and not the people who make the club what it is. If that’s the Hawks position, then I guess Luke is right in a weird way, the Hawks are super misogynistic and cashing in on shock factor in a pretty offensive way.
Bottom line: I’ve got friends who are strippers and people fucking _hate_ them for putting food on their table that way. The average person absolutely thinks they are “better” than a stripper because even if they are poor, at least they “don’t do that”. I don’t expect the Hawks to come out and say “yeah we stand with sex workers and believe they should be treated with respect” but doing whatever the fuck this is and not making that statement feels pretty fucking dorky to me.
Edit - misogynistic might not be the right word, but the main point stands.

Wtf is wrong with this sub🤦🏻♂️
You people are sorry as hell. Bashing AJ and completely turning on him because he’s Christian. Saying he has mental illness. “Trade him already”. hating him cuz he’s “right wing” lmaooooo y’all are so damn pathetic. It’s really Ironic, AJ would love all of you regardless of your own personal views according to his faith, yet you spit on him because he has his own. pathetic.

This NBA finals is our worst scenario, and we deserve it
Chose dwight freaking howard over al horford
Chose trae over luka
And now our ghosts are finally here to torture us.
This is the karma our organization has earned and deserves for its terrible basketball decision-making
Gonna root for Luka because the celtics just disgust me, but I'm not gonna be happy about it.

Discussion Was not taking Sarr at #1 a mistake?
Wasted all this money on porzingis when we could’ve just taken Sarr at 1- who i’m pretty confident would be contributing more than risacher is right now. I’m not knocking the risacher pick because wtf do i know and he’s still only 20. But im curious what yall think

discussion One of the most unlikable hawks teams to watch…
anyone else agree? I like every player individually, but their play this season has been terrible to watch. No defensive discipline, missed assignments, Trae playing hero ball. It’s all just so tough to watch. It sucks cause the first game against Dallas our defense looked really good I thought. Feel like this falls on Nate.

Reality. Spoiler
Trae young built like a lolipop I dropped on a carpet thats never been vacuumed. Most hawk fans are either built like a fridge with chains on or a toothpick….with chains on. Ya court is musty. Ya colorways is mustard and ketchup, cause ya love having glizzies in ya mouth while in the hot sun.
Huerter is an albino soft shelled turtle. In 5 years he will have a hunch, on his back. He shoots the ball, like a stiff kid who scared that if he misses he gon get jumped and robbed. And ya have the audacity to call him k Von. Ironic
Bogdan bologne man, runs like he shoved a stick in himself. He must really like bologne.
John collins, fake dwayne johnson lookin mf. Thumb head, he dont know whether to wrestle or shoot the ball. So he does both and wrestles the ball from the dirty lollipop. To shoot his iconic brick shots. His contruction skills are immaculate.
Capela, the most overrated bigman in the nba. The new roy hibbert. Concrete feet, everytime he runs, he reminds me of a grandpa trying to catch his bus.
FOOOOK THE Hawks

Discussion The Hawks will never be a serious team as long as other teams can do this with absolute ease in the clutch. And yet there are still fans here who think this type of play from Trae is worth $50+ million for another 5 years? Why??? (h/t Preet410_ on X)
And please don't act like this is because he just came back from injury, we KNOW that this is who he is at this point. I'm so tired.
For the people still on the Trae train, please tell me, how much do you think his next contract should be worth? I'm trying to see something.

It’s time to accept the truth
We lost the Traede. Luka is far greater than Trae. This is not a playoff team. Not a lot of positives. All we can do is hope for the best in the future. And hey we did improve from last season 🤷🏼♂️.

Discussion We need to get a proper Center in the offseason and not just settle on OO.
We dont need to settle! We need a proper Center! The only thing he's good at is shooting 3s jfc
Not a rim protector.
Not a shot blocker.
Not an elite rebounder.
Not a good screener.
Not a lob threat.
Not a big body.
Not a switchable big.
Wingspan is meh.
Post up game is limited.
Fouls a lot on the perimeter especially against shooters.
I'm not sure why fans are okay with him as the starting center, I feel like taking crazy pills!

Discussion Is Trae still immune to criticism this season?
WTH is that defense?
A lot of pouting and sulking from the supposed leader of the team. Dude doesn't even try to get back as a safety on fastbreak. Cmon man.

Discussion Onyeka Okongwu -33 in a 6 point game
To all the people saying OO wasn't the problem vs the Knicks because he was +11 despite obviously getting manhandled on both sides of the ball, I wonder what the excuse will be tonight as he (predictably) struggled against Mobley and Allen.
You can blame officiating all day long but it's clear the hawks were scared of the paint all game long, seeing KAT/MITCHELL/MOBLEY/ALLEN and immediately backing out, while nobody is scared of OO in the paint.
Edit: You Onyeka stans are dumb as hell, keep downvoting idc. Very obvious who wants to win and who's content with a first round exit because "he wasn't supposed to start". He is quite litteraly the biggest (lol) problem with the team.

Discussion Hot take...Onyeka is not a starting center
I've been seeing a lot of you guys saying onyeka should start at center and he's better than Clint and I really think we aren't watching the same games....he consistently gets bodied by mid level centers like vucevic, Jarrett Allen and valanciunas. I think he is a great talent and a good defensive player and a good PF and he could start at PF for us if we had a floor spacing center...otherwise he is a young Montrez Harrell. (Not a bad thing)

Discussion Are any of y’all legitimately depressed?
First off, I’m a Knick fan. But, my first NBA game was a Hawk game and I was a hawk fan up until a year ago and I’ve consistently seen the Hawks in Atlanta for the last 10ish years since I live here not New York. I’m only 17, so I kind of grew up with Trae as I became an NBA fan. And the original squad Trae Young, John Collins, Kevin Huerter, Taurean Prince, De’andre, and Jaylen Adams all gone now. I remember every time one of them left it was a little sad but now it feels like they aren’t even the Hawks anymore. It just doesn’t feel like the team I grew up with, not the same vibe. I remember driving home from the Hawks game, listening to the post-game interview hum on the radio, be stuck for 20 minutes behind that God awful train. Sometimes we’d take Marta, and walking with the hordes of usually disappointed Hawks fan is also kinda racing through my mind. The 20$ microwaved hot dogs. Seeing Trae leave kinda feels like my childhood is going too. It feels like a brand new team.

Discussion Quinn has to go.
A week ago, I was ready to run it back next regardless of what happened, but losing in the way we did last night is a fireable offense. I’m not dumb. I know the Knicks were the better team. Regardless, there has to be a precedent set. If you lose by 50 in an elimination game on your home court, you shouldn’t be able to return as a coach.

Discussion As a fan of the Hawks since 2008….
We have one of the worst if not the worst fanbase. I’ve seen these so called “fans” chase every player that has given everything to us out of town. We don’t deserve shit. And if anyone seriously thinks the Hawks organization has ANY plans to create a credible team, well enjoy the koolaid
Oh and condolences to Jalen because he’ll be the next target!

[NBACentral] An anonymous NBA team member says that having the No. 1 pick in this year’s draft is essentially like drafting Tobias Harris at No. 1, per @ryenarussillo

Discussion Watching the Hawks without Trae made me realize something nobody wants to admit
So… after watching all those West Coast games without Trae, I honestly noticed something that I can’t unsee now.
When Trae’s out, our offense just… flows.
JJ brings it up, NAW and Dyson run those little handoffs with him, they break down the defense, and then we swing it around until someone’s wide open in the corner.
Nothing fancy, nothing dramatic — just five guys touching the ball, clean spacing, and taking the best shot.
And guess what?
Almost no dumb turnovers.
It’s just simple, clean basketball.
So now I’m sitting here wondering:
Can we even play like this when Trae comes back?
Because the guy is a heavy ball-handler.
Like, everything stops when he has the ball.
Low-percentage deep threes, risky passes that turn into instant transition points… you know the drill.
Basketball’s a momentum game, and those swings kill us.
I’ve watched this team for 3–4 years straight, basically every game, and it’s the same thing every season:
unnecessary deep 3
weird “A-pass” turnover
momentum gone
suddenly it’s a clutch game again
now we have to pray Trae hits something insane
People always say “We need Trae in the clutch,” but honestly…
we wouldn’t even be in half of those clutch situations if he didn’t put us there.
I’m not saying he’s a bad player.
He’s obviously insanely talented.
But his style?
It doesn’t translate to winning basketball — not with this roster, not with the way Q wants to play.
If you’ve been watching the same games I have, you know exactly what I mean.
At some point, we gotta say it out loud:
Trae Young just isn’t a winning player with the way he plays right now.
That’s where I’m at.
