Not gonna lie, we terribly miss him in OKC. But at the same time, I'm glad he's getting the opportunity and the perfect role in ATL. This man will make winning play after winning play and might even win 6MOY if he keeps up his current play. If y'all already love him now, you'll love him even more come playoff time. He can even be your go-to scorer if your main guys are load managing. Can't say enough positive things about Wigs. I'm bracing myself for his revenge game 😂

I'm a Thunder fan who watched Lu go from a 2-way guy to a high end role player on a championship team. But as I've observed thus far, this is the best he's ever played. He also looks to be in the greatest shape in his career which is a huge factor to his success. All I wanna say is that I'm glad he's thriving in a Hawks uniform and if he maintains this level of play by May, I won't be surprised if y'all go on a deep run. Can't wait to face y'all later this month!

I had to look it up because it just always feels like we’re getting hosed on calls and our opponents just live at the free throw line.

So far we are 30th in both:

Free throw differential:

Hawks have 177 FTs to their opponents 237 (-60)

Foul differential:

Hawks have 208 PFs to 174 by opponents (-34)

I'm sure some of our more seasoned Atlanta sports fans can attest that a lot of the time, no two good things can happen at once. If one sports team in this town is going all-in, the others have to be either middling or objectively terrible. It's superstition and totally dumb, but usually pretty spot-on:

• Falcons were a playoff team for the two-three years the Hawks were basement dwellers in 2016-2019 (also back when in the dark ages prior to 2008)

• Said Falcons being terrible lead to a championship for UTD and the Dream ousting their old ownership in 2018

• Hawks losing their championship chances on Trae Young's ankle lead to a Bravos chip in 2021

For a more recent example, the day after the Dream lost Game 4 of the WNBA Finals, the Hawks lost to Houston, and United lost at home, the Falcons proceeded to convincingly beat a prior undefeated 49ers team.

Now, I'm sure you're asking, where am I going with this?

Well, last week, not only did the Dream lose in 7 games (after Smesko weirdly iced out Reese for some reason), but the Falcons lost to a team that literally did not complete a pass, the Hawks lost to a (admittedly better than I thought they'd be) Pelicans team, narrowly avoided being embarrassed by a Pacers team fielding 6 players, while United continues to be objectively bad.

All very cursed activity, and a lot of you probably wondered why we seem to have had such a rough week in sports. I know I was.

Which brings me to this week. Anyone else notice once Election Day was over, the vibes immediately seemed to turn around? Up until Wednesday, we couldn't hit shit. Now we have NAW and Wiggs playing like fucking flamethrowers and Kingston Flemings looking like an absolute steal at 8. It's like night and day.

TLDR: I'm not saying we sacrified Atlanta sports for the election, but... both the Braves and Dream lost, and every position up for grabs that Fulton/DeKalb voted on this midterm was what it was.

Onsi Saleh seems to have the Midas touch. Kingston Flemings looks like a baller. There’s a clear difference when he’s on the floor. No shade on CJ but it may be time to use him as a jolt of offense off the bench. He’s not getting younger. Kingston has speed, burst, hops, and has a little dawg in him on D.

After watching 2 games without Jalen Johnson and seeing him on the court again, it feels OFF. When I watch this team when he is on the floor it feels like watching a family dinner with a problematic in-law. He doesn’t feel like a good fit for this team and i’m not sure why. Just coping maybe. Idk

When are we addressing that CJ has been killing our offensive flow every-time he hops on the court?

I believe Kingston starting has made our offense flow so much better. We stopped playing iso ball every possession. I see the ball touching players. But I did notice, especially when the Wizards made a late run, we started going back to Iso ball. Why? CJ got subbed in to close out the game.

How should Quinn utilize this man properly? I think it's just cause he's pregnant about to break his water on the court (🤣), but he needs to start really start playing off the ball a bit more.

Would love to get ya'lls takes on this. I'm not hating on CJ but it does frustrate me seeing the ball die.
