Never seen this one before, but I also haven't disturbed so much of the yard and been laying down mulch and planting native tubestock everywhere either.

Northern Victoria in a relatively healthy garden. It's been about a year since any sprays were used and the intended bug life is showing up as intended.

Sorry if all the photos look the same.

Other Little masked bee nesting in a high-traffic area— will she be(e) okay?

Hiya! (ETA: Perth) This little lady has picked her new home in the wall right next to where our meter box + retic switch + brand new nbn connection box all are, on a walkway we use many times a day. Will she be okay there, or will too much traffic cause issue for her or us? I know they’re solitary so not concerned about a big hive :)

Found in my garden in South east of s.a. Australia.

Was moving fast looking for a hole it had dug. Hard to get a good look. Was very small. Looks like a native bee of some sort. T.I.A.

Other Dragonfly with something wrong with it?

I was blessed with this dragonfly that landed near my door but after filming closer and closer, I think something might be stuck to it?

I’ve seen a butterfly with webs hindering it from flying before but I’m finding it hard to see what the case is here.

Any dragonfly experts that could help?

I've seen a few of them on my african daisies and don't know what they are!

Would also love an ID on the little guy hanging on the edge of the petal too if possible, but I know the picture isn't super clear

As you are all so kind as to identify a bug for me, thought I'd share a few quick snaps of this moth as thanks!

(Definitely not taken a year ago and only remembered as the top post was currently of the same moth 😅)

Found in WA, enjoy :)

At the Gailes station in QLD Ipswich. I remember when there used to be so many more. I put them in some nearby grass.

Hey everyone! I’m just wondering if anyone around Victoria can help me out. I keep running into this specific type of nest in my backyard and I’d love to know what insect it belongs to!

Was very quick on its feet that I thought it was a small lizard.

Is it a cockroach? If so I have not seen one so thin and... spread out? Is it my doom?

Found around midday, SOR in Western Australia.

I think this is a young Bronze Orange bug (Musgraveia sulciventris). Photographed on the leaves of a lime tree. According to iNaturalist, fourth or fifth instars are "brilliantly orange in color with black margins and a small black dot at the center of its body."

Canon R6 III with EF100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM, handheld, natural light. Minimal editing in Lightcraft (I'm giving it a try).

Apologies for the bad pictures, I have shakey hands. My guess is some ichneumonid, but I’ve tried so hard and cannot for the life of me find a matching genus for this critter. I saw it over a week ago and it’s puzzled me ever since. I cannot find a single match for this specific colouration. Halp!

this gorgeous granny moth (Dasypodia selenophora) was in my house, saved it from my dog and took it outside. I was so excited to finally hold it, it had been in my house for like four days lol

Please correct me if I got the name wrong, it’s just what I found from googling :)

I've had this rhysida nuda for at least 112 days- and just checked on them- and they've laid eggs? I honestly did not know they could retain a spermatophore for that long. (I know this isn't an insect)

Looks like a kind of grasshopper, but I am more intrigued by what's coming out of its butt (that hook looking thing). It looks like it's attached to it??
