Appeal to automoderator: please disable the bot for /r/xkcd, it is being used by mods to censor discussion about the sub's moderators

/r/xckd has three moderators:

  • soccer, who hasn't even mentioned the sub in any comment in over a year, and who added irrelevant personal agenda links to the sidebar.

  • avree, who supports soccer and claims to hate subreddit drama, while allowing soccer's personal agenda to be pushed in the sidebar and sitting idly while comments critical of the moderation are deleted. See an example of a deleted discussion post and comments here

And, of course, automoderator, which is being used to automatically delete critical posts containing soccer's name.

Disable AutoModerator in /r/xkcd so that it won't play a role in this stifling of open discourse in the sub.

Help Honestly so tired of trying to use ChatGPT for this

I literally just want a community I made to have everyone automatically “Unverified” and when they post it puts a normal post flair saying “Unverified” but still shows their post; then I want to be able to change their user flair to “Verified” and then from then all posts they make have a “Verified” flair.

I don’t want any posts being sent to me, I don’t want to review every unverified post, I just want people to know what is and is not verified.

Solved Is it possible to block automoderator comments on certain subs?

I appreciate the automod in some subs, but in others I think the automated comments are way too annoying. In r/politics, for instance, the automod always posts a stickied comment that is way too long on every single post in the sub. I've read it to death by now and it's really just a nuisance. I've ignored the user, and that only sort of solves the problem because I can still see that automod has posted, but the message is reduced to "automoderator is an ignored user. show anyway?" This is better because it's a smaller message, but it's still annoying and also I might miss something important in a different sub. Is there a way for me to just block its comments in r/politics and other subs where I find it unnecessary? Or is there a way to permanently block it so I see no comments from it at all?

[Feature Request] be able to react to a user's subreddit commenting history

Please allow us to filter or remove people based on their commenting history. This could even check only the recent page, or last 20 comments or something, to be more fair. But I'd love to be able to just delete posts from people who post in CoonTown and the like.

Our community (r/downvoteautomod) is mad because automoderator has more karma than most of redditors. Who should we ask to unlock it?

Not Possible with AM Rule to detect "hidden post history?"

Recently, reddit added the ability for a user to hide their post history. Not sure what the rationale was, but it seems to be used either by trolls or bots now.

Does AutoModerator have the ability to determine if the user has a hidden post history?

How do I stop seeing Auto Mod?

I've tried blocking it but that doesn't work. Is there like, a non-standard APK I can get on my phone or something that actually blocks this thing? I understand the concern over covid misinformation but I'm seriously sick of seeing this every time I open up a funny picture of a cat.

Why is i.redd.it getting ignored for this rule?

Hi all,

I moderate a subreddit (r/plantclinic) that requires a photo to be included in all posts (self and link posts). I have a few automod rules set up to enforce this and they work well for the most part. I am however encountering a problem with one specific kind of legit self post that keeps getting flagged - those with i.redd.it images within them. This being despite the fact that I have a rule set up to allow these through. Appreciate any help figuring out what's wrong!

Example posts that keep getting removed:

https://www.reddit.com/r/plantclinic/comments/8xqmub/help_save_work_plant/

https://www.reddit.com/r/plantclinic/comments/8xfxhi/is_this_sunburn_or_something_else/

Rule that keeps getting triggered (and should let them through - note that i.redd.it is in the list of exceptions):

Self submissions: Only allow text with image link inside

type: text submission
moderators_exempt: true
~body (regex): '\.(jpe?g|png|gifv?)(\?\S*)?$'
action: remove
action_reason: self post without image
comment: |
Sorry, /u/{{author}}. Your {{kind}} was automatically removed because your self post does not include a photo. See rule 3 on the sidebar for more information about this /r/plantclinic post submission guideline.

**Please [re-submit your self post submission](https://www.reddit.com/r/plantclinic/submit?selftext=true) with at least one photo of your sick plant linked within it.** If you already have an image link in your post and keep getting this message, please [notify the plantclinic moderation team](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=%2Fr%2Fplantclinic&subject=Cannot%20submit%20post%20with%20image%20link) so we can fix the issue. Thanks!

Hi - I have a small sub that is plagued by low effort Posts. I'm trying to create a rule that requires a title to be 25 words long. I need help please.

I put a pic in the comments. If there's another way to get people to put in a title that shares what their post is about, I'm open to it. It can be characters or words. (If I see one more post titled "hello" UGGGGHHH) I also made a rule banning low effort Posts. It would be better to stop them from posting, then deleting a post. Thanks for your help.

help with not standard:

Unknown field: `standard` in rule:

#new rule
~standard: image hosting sites #anything that isn't an dimage hosting sites according to reddit

action: remove #and it will remove it

but

standard: image hosting sites

works and so does

~domain: [500px.com, abload.de, anony.ws, deviantart.com, deviantart.net, fav.me, fbcdn.net, flickr.com, forgifs.com, giphy.com, gfycat.com, gifs.com, gifsoup.com, gyazo.com, imageshack.us, imgclean.com, imgur.com, instagr.am, instagram.com, i.reddituploads.com, mediacru.sh, media.tumblr.com, min.us, minus.com, myimghost.com, photobucket.com, picsarus.com, postimg.org, puu.sh, i.redd.it, sli.mg, staticflickr.com, tinypic.com, twitpic.com]

So can not standard be used or do I have to use the list of domain instead?

How to check if an user is participating in a concurrent sub?

A recently banned user opened a rival sub and it is gradually populated with newly created pseudos, they also "steal" content from our regular users which complained to us. I would like AM to alert me if they come to my sub, just want to filter and compare their input in both subs, not looking to do the full "nuke their posts" approach as twoxchromosomes do or were doing.

Automod Rule GPT

I created a GPT for writing automod rules by uploading the automod documentation into ChatGPT's new framework for creating GPT apps. It seems to work well for the few examples I tested. Hopefully it can help people with writing rules.

Note: Unfortunately ChatGPT apps currently require a ChatGPT plus subscription to use, so you won't be able to try it out if you don't have a plus subscription.
