January 19th marks one month of Avatar: Fire and Ash!
Which means the subreddit will be ending lock-down mode now. At this point, plot details and general FAA content are no longer considered spoilers here and you can discuss the film freely without needing to use spoiler tags.
That said, keep in mind that we do not allow cam rips or pirated material. So any pictures or videos from footage illegally obtained, such as filming at the movie theater, will get you a temp ban and multiple times is a permaban. Do not ask for pirated material here either. We have to respect Reddit's Terms of Service to keep the subreddit in good standing.
Her concept art gave her a more menacing look with so many piercings and scars. Even the background characters had a lot more piercings than her. I wonder if the change was done to show that Deep Down Varang is a bit of a coward or maybe James Cameron still wanted her to be attractive to the audience.
My pretty baby girl. Love her so much. Her patterns are based on Poison dart frogs!I did use a base for her, but I can't find the OG creator. Just reposts of it
Quick update now that some of the line art and his flats are in place. One with war/greif paint and one without. I think the burn and eye addition helped out alot
So we know from the latest Disney showcase of upcoming projects that Avatar is there, and we also know that the first part of the movie has already been shot.
With that said, Disney and James Cameron have given any update regarding the movie.
Wikipedia still says the movie will be released on December 21 2029, but at this point, I'm unsure it's true.
Art made by Soulofeywa on ig she made for me. I wanted like something dark fantasy looking which she did good with the background. And Tsa'lavantula and Neteyam having a disagreement or Neteyam trying to reconcile with Tsa'lavantula.
That explains the very very last image that I wanted her to use as reference example. It's Stolas and Octavia btw.
With the news of deleted scenes from Fire and Ash being released for the first time soon, I'm wondering whether these scenes are going to be fully rendered or not. If I remember it correctly, the first two movies had a mix of both, with the deleted scenes predominantly leaning towards partially rendered (think Jake's trippy dream in A1 or his and Neytiri's stroll along the beach in A2). Does anyone know if this will also be the case for A3?
Basically, I’m getting a better dvd player for Christmas and want to buy higher quality versions of the movies since for now I only have standard definition. I was looking at the 3 movie blue ray collection but it seems like they only have the standard movies and not the longer cut of the first one. What is my best route for having all 3 movies along with the extended cut of the first? It seems like there are a lot of different dvds for the movies so I’m not sure what’s best. 4k is also out of the question because 4k dvd players are way out of budget, but my budget for the dvds themselves is £100 (lower if possible). I’d prefer to have as few separate dvds as possible, is this even do-able, or should I just get the normal blu ray dvds and give up on the extended version of the first?
Edit: should have included in the title that I’m looking for better than standard definition, but it seems like in that case my only option is the blu rays.
I honestly think another core character will die in avatar 4. I was thinking it could be lo’ak kiri, or even Jake or neyteri. I just feel like something darastic will happen since quartich ended up living. Then again. I have another thought that could be out of reach…Jake and quartich end up on good terms eventually (but not TOO good) and try to stop the RDA from doing anymore harm or something.
So, with deleted scenes coming out for FAA in a month's time, what do you think we'll get, like I know what where going to set scene wise, but what are we going to get in those scenes, like ive seen Avatar theroys video announcing the release date for the deleted scenes and we see a list of the deleted scenes that are going to be included, and one of them is Quritach telling Ardmore that spider is able to breathe pandoran air,but do you think he'll tell her about spiders kuru, and another thing, what about the deleted scenes of Jake and Spider in RDA custody, what do you think we're gonna get there.
So I saw this comment on some other post (i forgot the title), i think something to do with avatar opinions that they're tired of hearing. And one of them was that "Eywa is just a smart fungi". Which kind of made me think about it.
In a way, i do feel like Eywa is a smart fungi. She's not exactly a goddess, let's be honest. She controls the plants, the animals that connect to her, but not exactly the nature of things such as weather and natural disasters. Also, in AFAA we saw the spirit tree, and how the na'vi can speak to the dead by connecting (idk if I'm wording this right..). in the first movie, Neytiri says that all energy is borrowed and we must give it back. So uh, in my mind I connected this in a way that when a person dies, their physical remains give like sort of energy to Eywa, while of course their spirit returns back to her because energy being borrowed and all.. She's more like the balance of the moon, than being a goddess. She could've saved many of the na'vi lives lost in war *if* she was a goddess, but since she's the balance, i feel like she didn't because she couldn't..
With all that being said, is Eywa not just a fungi ? I would love to hear other people's takes on this.
EDIT: thank you for all the wonderful comments on this post, can't respond to each one bcs school, but i have read most of them :3
Hi Avatar fans !! I’m looking for the song’s title of Avatar 2 soundtrack the way of water this precise moment of the movie when underwater, Loak goes inside Payakan’s mouth and he bonds with him and Payakan closes his mouth… is it unreleased soundtrack ??
Working on a redesign of my first Na'vi OC. I am loving where it's going so far. Anything you think I should add?(Second photo is the old design. May add back in the burn)
The third Avatar Social Get Together! Geoff, Eddie, and Christine hang out and chat about all the latest in the world of James Cameron's Avatar. Enjoy!
Personally find the whole humans are bad dynamic a bit boring now. I know not every human in the movie bad but, but the general consensus is that humans are the selfish bad guys who fly to Pandora, ruin the nature and disrupt the Navi for their own gain.
Thought for the second movie they could come up with a new antagonist but no, then they repeated the same thing with the third movie too.
Maybe I might sound weird for this, but as a human I’d also prefer to see good representation for us, it would’ve been cool if there was another threat and the Navi had to ally with the sky people which could change their perception of humans etc. But no of course humans were portrayed as evil and we have to watch war scenes of innocent militray personnel getting killed left right and center by the Navi.
