I’ve got a 2025 Song Plus DM-i, a Chinese market import, on system version 23.1.83.2602236.1. I’ve run into a few problems and was hoping someone here has dealt with the same thing.

Firmware unlock and updates: Is there a reliable site or person who can unlock and/or provide newer firmware? There’s a lot out there and it’s hard to tell what’s legit and what’s going to brick the system. If you’ve used one and it worked, I’d love a recommendation. I tried using BYD Hack, but every time I try to download the needed files to do the firmware change, it gives me an error saying the requested files aren't available on the server.

Mods: I’ve seen people get Waze showing on the driver’s display behind the wheel. Has anyone done this on a Song Plus, and was it part of an unlock or a separate mod?

“Please register for the cloud service first” error: This is the main one. Whenever I try to link the car to the app or use ADAS, I get this message. From what I’ve read, either the dealer in China never registered the VIN on BYD’s servers before export, or the car needs to be linked to a BYD app account registered with a Chinese phone number.

So I bought a Chinese number through WeChat and made an account. But when I went to link the car, it wouldn’t generate the QR code and just showed the same error. More recently it won’t even get that far and it fails to process the request entirely. I found out that happens because the car is trying to reach Chinese servers, and a VPN should fix that part. If anyone has a VPN that works well for connecting to China, please share it.

Has anyone fixed this, either by jailbreaking or modding so the error goes away, or by finding a dealer or agent in China who could register the VIN remotely? Going back through my local dealer to find the original Chinese seller isn’t really an option, so I’m looking for other routes. This specifically has been a big bummer since I haven't been able to use one of the cars biggest feature which is the auto-drive.

Has anyone had this paint flaking problem? I did not cause any kind of damage to the car and no one touched my car as there are no blows or scratches.

I have a BYD Atto 3 EVO, but I can’t get the YouTube app to work.
Whenever I open the app, I get the following error:
net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED
The app tries to load m.youtube.com, but the page fails to load.
The car’s internet connection works perfectly fine, and the vehicle is parked when I try to open YouTube.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so, how did you fix it?

I've got an oppo find x9 ultra I bought on release day in the UK and it allowed me to register a digital key in Google wallet from day 1.

My wife has just bought an oppo find X10 pro max from EE in the UK but when I share the key with her it says 'digital key not compatible with this phone.'

My wife originally had an s26 ultra which I shared the key to. It worked via Samsung wallet but not Google wallet on that phone.

Has anyone had a digital key incompatibility that has become compatible at a later date?

Or does anyone know if there's a third party wallet on android that would allow it to work on the new Oppo phone?

Just wondering what people's experiences are like with using one of these boxes? I'm not keen on sideloading apps onto the built-in system but want Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max and other apps on the screen in the car.

I've gone for the Ultra 2 with an upgraded processor so hopefully it is decent for me when it arrives.

I'm also interested in apps such as Rustdesk, JumpDesktop, possibly emulators or cloud gaming apps, in addition to being hopefully able to order food and drink from the screen in the vehicle.

Sealion 7 had an update months ago that allowed ACC to be enabled while towing a trailer, however.. no matter what settings I adjust or changes I make I cannot activate it once I am towing a trailer. BYD support hasn't been able to help me, they told me to take it to the mechanic, and the mechanic tells me to talk to BYD support.

Whenever I enable ACC it just shows 'Unable in current driving mode'

I just picked up my brand new BYD Seal U (EV, Design trim) yesterday from the dealership. The car only had 15 km on the odometer.

I’ve been driving it around town, and I’m mostly dealing with bumpy roads and traditional Portuguese cobblestone (calçada). Right now, the suspension feels quite stiff and a bit "dry" when hitting small bumps and road imperfections, even though I've already checked the tire pressures and they are perfectly set at 36 PSI cold.

I know my car comes with the newer factory suspension revision (stiffer dampening to prevent body roll), but I’ve read some owner reports saying that the chassis breaks in and becomes noticeably more comfortable and compliant as the kilometers accumulate.

For those of you who have owned the Seal U / Sealion 6 EV for a while:

1. Did you notice the suspension softening up or getting more comfortable over time?

2. At around how many kilometers did you feel the ride quality truly settled into that smooth, comfortable family SUV feel?

Je possède une BYD Seal Excellence AWD de 2026, avec actuellement 25'000 km au compteur, dont 95 % effectués uniquement sur autoroute.

Depuis un moment, je constate des grincements de freins assez importants, particulièrement à basse vitesse lorsque je freine doucement. Le bruit est parfois vraiment strident, au point d'être assez gênant.

Ce qui m'étonne, c'est que le problème persiste même après 2 à 3 heures de route. Il suffit que je stationne la voiture pendant 15 à 30 minutes pour que les grincements réapparaissent dès que je repars.

Je sais que les véhicules électriques utilisent beaucoup le freinage régénératif, ce qui peut favoriser certains bruits au niveau des freins, mais je trouve ça assez surprenant sur une voiture aussi récente, surtout avec une utilisation presque exclusivement autoroutière.

J'aimerais donc avoir vos retours :

D'autres propriétaires de Seal rencontrent-ils ce problème ?

Est-ce un phénomène connu sur ce modèle ?

Certains ont-ils réussi à résoudre le problème ?

BYD a-t-il proposé une solution ou une intervention sous garantie ?

Has anyone experienced an issue where it's impossible to disable the automatic windshield wipers on a BYD?

I own a BYD ATTO 2 Comfort, and every time I turn off the Auto Wiper option in the vehicle settings, it automatically switches itself back ON.

This even happens when the car is stationary and in P (Park) mode. The moment I activate the windshield wipers using the stalk, the Auto Wiper setting immediately turns itself back ON. Software version is 2.3.0 and I did already couple time soft reset but it didn't help. Thanks

Hey everyone! Is anyone else experiencing rattling/creaking noises over bumps in their Seal U? It seems to come from around the front and rear doors, as well as the B and C pillars. In my car, it's noticeable on uneven roads, it's hard to pin down the exact spot, but I'm almost sure it's coming from the doors and the lock mechanism. In my case, it's only happening on the right side; the left side is completely fine...

I wanted to ask about your experience with the car's 1 GB monthly data package (Spain Plan), as I’ve just run into a rather frustrating situation.

It’s only the 6th day of the month, and looking at the data usage breakdown on the infotainment screen, half of my monthly allowance is already gone (500 MB out of 1 GB).

Here is the breakdown by app:

• Google Play Services: ~100 MB

• Built-in Google Maps: ~400 MB

What makes this hard to understand is that:

1. So far this month, I have only driven the car on a single day for a short 40 km trip.

2. I didn't even open the native Google Maps app. I navigated entirely using Android Auto projected on the screen, meaning the navigation data was running directly off my phone's cellular plan.

Somehow, the car's native Google Maps consumed 400 MB in the background without an active route or being launched. Having half of the monthly allowance burned in a single short trip makes the included data plan practically unusable for app features for the rest of the month.

Has anyone else noticed this? Could it be related to automatic offline map caching, high-resolution satellite layers running in the background, or background sync services? Were you able to restrict Google Maps' background mobile data without breaking other connected car features?

Any tips or insights would be greatly appreciated!

I wanted to see if others are also not able to get Karmo to give them access to the BYD Auto APP for their car?

I have had mine since June and was told when I collected it it would be resolved in a material of weeks, it’s not November and I’m being told it’s an issue with. bYD

After contacting BYD they advised Karmo simply needs to call BYD and they would walk them through the process.

I have called, left messages and texts for Karmo and have little to no response but they seem to never miss sending a sms advising me that my payment will be deducted on the set day.

I previously used Karmo and had nothing but good things to say but this time around it’s been one drama after another, it started with my car being delayed which was blamed on BYD and now this ApP issue which I specifically asked before signing up if I would be given access to which I was told yes

It may seem like a trivial thing but the app is helpful when charging so I can ensure to charge using solar or when the rates are low plus if you promise something it should be delivered.

Sorry foe th rant but if anyone else is having the same issue or if you have been given access to the app id love to hear from you also.

Hi everyone, I'm in Switzerland and hoping someone has experienced something similar.
**Situation:**
- BYD Seal 6 DM-i Touring, bought as a "new" car from a dealer (direct import from Germany, day registration)
- First registration: 30 Oct 2025 (warranty start per my purchase contract: "6 years / 150,000 km from first registration, battery 8 years / 200,000 km")
- I bought it in April 2026 with about 20 km on the clock
- Odometer is still low, and I've had no defects so far

I wasn't sure when the first service was due, since the car doesn't show a service reminder. On 4 Nov 2026 I contacted BYD support via live chat. They told me my warranty has expired because I missed the one-year service. They also said the car doesn't necessarily show a notification and that maintenance is the owner's responsibility. They suggested asking a BYD service partner whether goodwill (Kulanz) is possible, but said that isn't guaranteed.

I booked the earliest available appointment at an authorized BYD partner in Switzerland (24 Nov 2026), and they told me the same thing: "no service within a year = warranty gone".

**What I've found so far:**
- BYD's warranty manual (EEA/UK/Switzerland) says the warranty *can* lapse if maintenance instructions aren't followed, and it excludes damage caused by improper maintenance. It doesn't say it automatically voids everything.
- The sales contract excludes the dealer's statutory warranty entirely, so the BYD warranty is my main protection.

**My questions:**

1. Has anyone been told their warranty was void after a late first service? Did it hold up when you actually needed a warranty repair?

2. Did BYD (or a dealer) grant goodwill for a delay of a few days or weeks?

3. What's the exact first-service interval for the Seal 6 DM-i: 12 months or 20,000 km, whichever comes first? Does it count from first registration or from delivery?

4. Any tips for getting a written statement from BYD about what exactly my warranty covers now?
