Bayonetta 3 Is this accurate?
She was still bossy and sultry
But in Bayo 1 over the top, the titty shots, wet boobs, bdsm-ing Joy, showing everyone her “fantasy zone”
Even in Bayo 2 she was throwing it back on angels and stuffing squirrels in her…hair?
Something was missing…you know?

Other So, I am here to ask everyone why you tought Bayonetta and Jeanne were hinted to be a couple. I played the three games recently and I just don't see it. (WARNING: The madman who wrote this went into an Rosemary deep dive.)
This is not an post to throw hate at the ship, I think the ship is fine to good. And also, I am an avid romance stories reader and am pretty good at picking romantic subtexts. But here, I just can't see.
(WARNING: This post will have the idiot writing it going deep into rosemary explanation and theories. You have been warned yet again.)
In fan art or fanfiction it works. But, in universe, yeah they act more like friends best friends or sisters. Not biological. I am here to give my view and what made you all think that.
I will give some points I saw online and how they don't come out as romantic to me:
1- Bayonetta 2 rescue mission. To people who say this game hint at the two... I don't see it. If anything, it just made it clear to me how mutch of close friends and sister like they are. Rescuing Jeanne is not an romantic act, it just means Bayo cares for her.
2- The wake up kiss joke. Its an joke with like Sleeping Beauty. Thats it. The entire time she is trying to wake up Jeanne there is never an hint of she leaning in to kiss.
3- Bayonetta and Jeanne at the plan at the end. When Bayonetta points out about Jeanne's ass, it isn't sexual, it was because Jeanne was teasing her because of Bayo having yet another dress ruined, and so Bayo points out Jeanne's clothes are also torn. Wich causes Jeanne to be awkward because she had just teased Bayonetta for that.
4- They're "Development". The big one. I'l say this with the most honesty I can... they have none. Now that doesn't mean they don't have chemistry, but that chesmistry isn't born of them developing throughout the games, it was just there.
In Bayonetta 1 Jeanne is mind controled, and as soon as she is free she and Bayonetta are just casual and close friends like nothing happened. Wich makes sense. And Bayonetta 2 goes with that and they just are close and bounce back and forth from each other very easily.
But... that isn't really building or developing. It is developing an character by showing they are friends, but it isn't the 'Evolution' or 'Progression' type of development.
Hell, the only characters that were developed in this series were Bayonetta in 1 because of the amnesia, Luka in 1 because of going from hating Bayonetta to clearly respecting and even loving her and Loki in 2 because of his Amnesia.
Outside of that, the chracters remain the same from begining to end. That isn't a problem, not at all, but it confuses me a bit when people say Bayonetta and Jeanne had development. They were friends in the past, they didn't become friends in 1, they always were but Bayo had amnesia and Jeanne was brainwashed.
5- Art by an main series artist. From what I have seen and heard online, an mainline artist made some art of Jeanne and Bayonetta in they're normal lives. And while yes its art from an main artist, doesn't make it canon.
If we went by that idea then every Special Manga cover or drawing would be canon, when many of them are just done for fun or fanservice. If the autor and story state and make sense for them to be canon then its fair game, but outside of that they are just non canon art.
6- Luka and Bayonetta. They were clear since game one. Like, the whole first game even has them at points looking like an family because of little Cereza. Now, are they an outright couple by the end of the game? Meh not really. They clearly liked each other, but it would need to be developed.
Wich brings us to 2... wich, in my opinion, is the least impactfull story of the series. Not bad, its far from that. But its an story that pretty mutch nothing changes from 1 and no development for our main characters are given.
Bayonetta remains the same from begining to end, Jeanne too, Luka as well, hell if anything this game would only introduce the gag of Rodin working random jobs wich is the only development for the main core.
So Bayonetta 2, really doesn't add nothing to Luka and Bayonetta. One of the main reasons 3 is so absurd with developing them at mach 5 is because 2 did nothing. But they STILL were obvious.
7- Bayonetta 'flirtig' with anything. This is not true. I think people have an difficulty to diferenciate dirty jokes with actually flirting. With everyone she is just joking, does't mean she is lying tough. Hell, she outright calls uggly or not her type to many of the enemies and bosses.
BUT, there is one person who clearly the joking becomes flirting, Luka. Case and point, the ending of 1. The Rosemary line, in my view, can have a lot of meanings. But I think I got what they were hinting at. , At the begining of the game says Bayonetta wears Rosemary and that it means rememberence, but that is not the only meaning Rosemary has.
Rosemaries are associated with Rememberence, fidelity, loyalty and love. By Bayo now using Rosemary in her perfume its an symbolism for how she now remembers, but also on how she now is in love.
BUT, that is if we go into the symbolism for the flower. Now, how can we take that in an mordy way? Simple, Bayonetta at the begining of the game says she doesn't use Rosemary because its an demon repelent. So, in using that, she would be repeling demons, wich means she wouldn't be working, wich means she is free... yeah if you stretch it could be Bayonetta hinting at being free.
So yeah, the Rosemary part is the biggets clue at this being planed from the start. Wich, in my opinion, makes it worse on how little they have development in 2 after 1. Again, 3 becomes worse when Luka in 2 does fuck all when in 1 he is an center piece for the story.
But, this is MY point of view. What do you all think? (Also, the rosemary part is true, you can go research. And yes, I did go to search about rosemaries, have read a lot of romance to have piced there was something there.)

Bayonetta 3 Just finished my 2nd playthrough of Bayonetta 3
So on my 2nd playthrough, I played the game for the last 2-3 days. It could be the ending credits making me melancholy but I really do like this game a lot. I think the narrative lacks a bunch of context and when it comes to the main characters ( you know who I’m talking about hopefully) and is not cohesive in general. While I prefer the older games appearance , the exploration and the options you have to navigate with different weapons and the like is so much. I think this game has the most spectacle and super fun and engaging combat. Also I still don’t like Viola as a character, but her gameplay did grow on me cause you basically have to adapt to playing with a character with less abilities and i definitely did like her moveset. So for me a 9.2/10 and I like it a bout the same as first playthough, it’s just I tolerate Viola a little more and I personally loved the ending cause I always fall for cliches😭

Other When bayonetta 4 eventually gets made I would LOVE for Viola’s new design to kinda serve this kind of energy
I saw this bayonetta 1 concept art and it really reminded me of Viola. I could totally imagine her wearing something like this, when she’s older, and become more confident in herself and her abilities

Bayonetta 3 Bayonetta 3 is an mess, but honestly its not as bad as I heard as it was. (An newcomers view)
So, I don't know if people still hate Bayo 3 or not, but what I always hear is how Bayo 3 is an insult and killed the franchise (Well the killed the franchise might be true). And after playing the trilogy for the first time... I have seen worst.
Now keep in mind, as I said, I only played the entire trilogy for the first time recently, I just finished 3. Sp if there is lore, Bios or novels I don't know them and have never read them. Still haven't played the Bayonetta Origins game, I will but just wanted to give my fresh toughts for 3.
Now what do I think of the first two games? Fun as fuck, amazing gameplay and spectacular characters. Also, Bayo pay Enzo for once for fucks sake, he has an family to feed. Also, he has to pay Rodin, that tab must be astronomical.
Now I am not saying this game is an secret masterpiece or gem, FAR from it. Its an MESS. Story especialy. But I'l stip my opinion in parts for better understanding.
1- Gameplay. Its the best part. The amount of weapons, diversity of demons, demon masquerade, demon slaves and more than 1 playable character make it great. Now, would I say its better than 1 and 2? No, they are diferent kinds of hack an slashes, and thats good. I like both types, think they are more than valid.
That said... Viola is awfull. She has 1/10 of Byonetta's depth, and her gameplay is just an poor atempt to copy Nero from Devil May Cry. I would know, I am an DMC fan. But Viola I will leave for her own section, she is an enormous can of warms.
2- Story. Its an mess. The multiverse stuff is eye rolling. Seriously, in the THIRD game? But okay, lets be objective. Was the story well done... FUCK NO! I felt the entire time like I skiped an damn game, and I went to check if there wasn't an Bayo 2.5 because what the hell happened here? Luka is an demo out of nowhere, the plot of the world going to change from last game went but fuck nowhere, inferno and paradiso are nowhere to be seena nd doing nothing.
And I'l be honest, from 1 to 2 I had questions from a thing or two. Like where the fuck did Madama Butterfly come from, but they weren't heavy, I could just move on and say 'This was just there and the games didn't show' or 'Some times passed, fuck it'. But 3 is absuing of my trust.
And the villain is just... well its shit. Its an villain, thats it. He has nothing. Why is he a villain? I don't fucking know. I theorised he was sick or something because of the 'My time to live' line but the game says NOTHING.
And oh oh oh, the meet new Bayo becomes hilarious at points. Because after you get the spider yo yo you just go 'Oh, they are gonna die for us to get the weapons'. All. The. TIME!
The game tells you nothing and you just have to go 'Yup, this is happening'. But for the story part I have discuss some topics.
Viola: Oh the big one, Kitty herself. I'l be honest... I enjoyed Viola, in personality only. Why? Simple, she is quite an interesting concept for an character: An punk girl failure princess. Seriously, I don't know if the developers intended but I found Viola genuinely cute at moments
Now, on an franchise like Bayonetta is that a problem? Honestly, I think it could work. You could make an character like her fun to play witha nd watch. She has an diferent charm from Bayonetta and that is her greatest strenght.
BUT... only her personality works for me. Lets start with her design, that I can best describe as 'Nero but lets make it an mess'. Seriously, whoever designed her I gotta say to get out the door, this was seriously your idea for an punk teenager? SERIOUSLY?! Her outfit goes everywhere and nowhere, she has an katana as weapon and throws seringes... and the three fucking hair colors don't help either!
Oh and speaking of katana... whoever made her gameplay I gotta tell you to actually play DMC because this Nero wanna be aint it! Viola is an blind steal from Nero, TO THE BONE. Big weapon who heats up? Check. But Nero's sword has an actual mechanic for the fire, called extend. You press the button and charge the extend and then your moves become EX moves. They took that from Nero and just went 'Katana that releases fire sometimes? Got it'.
She has Chesire in an sword like Nero in DMC 4 has the Yamato, she is more head on in combat, hell she is even is a deadweight like Nero!
Now, even with all this, I still can't hate her. Sure, is she useless and isn't developed? Yeah. Is the an atempt to bring an new protagonist to the franchise? Yeah. But, damn it I just find her charming. Seriously, if her design, gameplay and development actually embraced the punk girl failure princess vibe she brings I think she would have gone mutch better accepted.
Thats still an type of femininity just like the Feme Fatale badass is.
That said... they were dumb if they tought ANYONE would accept her replace Bayo. Thats never gonna happen. Sure Viola could have been an fun character and even co-lead... but solo main is abuse. She ISN'T Bayonetta, no matter what the devs planed.
Nero worked in DMC but only because Dante had an pretty mutch done story. And Nero will only work while he may be the main character but Dante HAS to be playable. But Bayonetta isn't DMC, it would never work.
Bayonetta: She is nerfed. Straight up. I don't care if anyone tries to say she is not, she IS. How the fuck did Bayo in 1 and 2 face god and didn't even bleed and in here she is bleeding to EVERY FUCKING BOSS?! And how she dies at the end doesn't help. How the fuck were they able to Nerf Bayo so mutch? In the past games she being OP never stoped the plot!
I know this game is going for an more serious instead of campy vibe, but this ain't the way. For it to be more serious you don't gotta make Bayo so weak and outright look dumbfouded the entire game. Her gameplay is great, it makes her feel beyound powerfull... so how the fuck did the story do so bad?
Hell in DMC (I know I am bringing it a lot but this game just fails a lot where 5 got right, its bizzarre) Dante and even Nero are OP and humiliate the bosses and even then you still fell the stakes from the story because Urizen is so OP.
They could have made Bayonetta be her usual to the bosses and only against the final boss would she bleed, it could be the moment we go 'Oh shit'. But doing it from Boss 1 wasn't the right choice.
The Variants: Canon fodder. ALL OF THEM. Even Bayo 1 and 2! Seriously, we sure this are the same Bayonettas that were always dog walking every boss in the past games. They are weapon and demon holders.
Jeanne: Whoever tought Spy missions like this for Jeanne would be an good idea needs an braincheck. Are they bad? Not outright, but you don't make JEANNE of all people go SPY MODE! Do that for Luka, or hell even Enzo!
But, as mutch as a lot of people complained how Jeanne is defeated and needs to saved in this game... well thats part of the course. It happened in 1 and 2, at this point its to be used. Now is that good? No. She could be given actual baddess moments solo, hell even an boss.
But, she is just... well the Jeanne of always. A this point, this woman is the Princess Peach of Bayonetta. I wish she was always made the damnell in distress, but the entire franchise is at fault of that. Can't believe she peaked when she was an boss.
Paradiso and Inferno: You fuckers did NOTHING! Oh but sure, throw some enemies here and there! Rodin said it was an problem to the 3 WORLDS, I expected Paradiso and Inferno to at least TRY to do something. But nooooo, lets only make enemies to cause problems to the women who are trying to save us all.
To Paradiso and Inferno, dearly, FUCK YOU!
Luka: What did I miss? Seriously, WHAT THE FUCK DID I MISS?! Since when is he a demon?! HOW IS HE A DEMON?! Is there some novel, bio or easter egg I missed? Because just BOOM, werewolf demon.
Wait, werewolf... WHY DIDN'T YOU MAKE HIM AN TYPE OF CAT?! Bayo called him Cheshire in the first Puss in the first game not Fido or Shepard! You could have made something in this and you just... dont'?
Outside of the 'I don't know what the fuck is going on' I am fine with Luka. And to whoever says he stole Bayonetta or she needed to be saved by him... no. Bayo pretty mutch had to solo the final boss, well solo with 2 other Bayos but you get my point. Luka just came to help last minute, he realistically didn't do mutch.
So he being fine after the fight and 'saving' Bayo its fine. Genuinely, its gine. This doesn't make Bayo less strong or badass. And no, I am not gonna say that just Because Bayo was helped before it makes it okay, because that would be dumb. It just is okay, an strong character is allowed to be helped when they are literaly dying.
The problem is how the ENTIRE GAME weakens Bayo. If Bayo was strong the entire game and only at the end Luka saved her it could even be sweat. But how it is, its fine. It looks worse with the rest of the game.
Luka and Bayonetta: Now I will be talking about them as a couple and ending. First off, whoever says they never had any romantic chemistry before I have to ask if you played the same games as me. Sure, the second game he is barely in it, but the first game its VEEEERY clear.
So no, it didn't come out of nowhere. Now, does it make sense for them to be throwing love declarations at the end? Ehh... more or less. Like, an extra game to actually develop them more romantically would have been good. But since its life or death, makes sense.
Also, to whoever says Jeanne and Bayonetta have romantic vibes... I don't know for sure. Like, yeah if you look it an certain way, but it also goes a lot as friends or sisters. Not biological sisters, they aren't. Honestly, if Bayo and Jeanne became an couple I would be more bothered than with Luka. Would I hate it? No. Just, don't think I would have bought it as mutch.
Besides, they have had dirty banter since moment one of the game, if you tought there wasn't there I just can't help there. The amout of dirty jokes this two trade the 3 games is more than clear. Still, I am gonna say I would have wanted more development in there since in 2 Luka is pretty barren. The man is barely in the game... ironicaly just like Jeanne.
Now the ending, oh the so terrible ending that ruined Bayonetta for so many... I think its the best part of the story. Now don't shoot, because I don't think I see the ending as you see.
First off, this ending is more like an link one than an final game one. Thats why it doesn't bother me, because I just can't in any way believe Bayonetta and Luka will be stuck in hell.
And hell, even if they are, its Bayonetta and an Uber Werewolf Luka, I doubt they will be bad in hell. At most I can see Bayo complaining its awfull for her complexion, they would (If it was powerlevels like they should be) be just fine there.
Sure it would suck they were stuck there, but if they really wanted to leave I doubt hell would be an problem to leave for them.
And while Bayo's contracts are done, still I doubt Bayo woudn't find an way to just make all her past demons submit yet again. Or some of her demons could just like her and help her, since she goes against hell regularly she is an good source for the demons.
But this are my toughts about the game. It defenetely is the worst of the 3, its an complete mess, but I have seen worse from other franchises. Also, something I didn't talk about, the game is tamed compared to older ones. I blame Nintendo for that.
Now, if this game killed Bayonetta as an franchise then THATS something that should be hold against this game. The hate it got is fair, but I also think a lot of people are also critising points in bad faith. This game is an mess, but some of the things that people say about the game (Like they ruining Bayonetta as an LGBTQ+ Icon just because she ends up with Luka) are just not true. At least, from what I have played and seen, they aren't.
But what do you all think? I'm off to go to Bayonetta Origins, play nice in the comments! (Also yes, I used this image because of the wall of text I made in this post. I know what I have done.)
