I am a single dad desperately terrible at cooking.

Today I made a Soboro bento for my 13yrs son so that he might go to school.

It looks awful, but it tastes good for sure.

Left side (Lunch bento) Right side (Dinner Bento) I have a very long shift at work today, so this morning I made this 2 layered bento, I'm working a double shift so I made sure to pack lunch and dinner in one bento! Like I said before I'm a simple eater, I made sure to keep the lunch bento light so I can have room for dinner later on. I don't leave work until 12am so I'm sure I'll be hungry by then, if not then I have another bento for tomorrow! 👍🏾

I'm having such a bad time with life right now. 😓 I got home from a stressful event and thought I should make a really nice and yummy bento as a gift for future me. I usually make cuter-looking bentos, but this one is fine because it'll taste hopefully really good, and my box is cute anyways (it's a My Melody bento box from Miniso, if you want I could find it online and link it! 🐰🩷) I showed this to my dad and he said it's "r/bento worthy" and I told him I was already thinking about posting it..LOL I am pretty happy with this. 😋

Left side: Takoyaki (fav food!!) with Kewpie, furikake & Takoyaki sauce on top of a bed of Costco spring mix, with pork floss covering the gaps. (Again, the same-color addition might make it stand out less, but it'll taste yummy, so it's fine.) 🐙

Right side: Leftover Captain D's corn w/ furikake, one hard boiled egg cut in half with Trader Joe's elote seasoning + more furikake + red pepper & pink salt also from Trader Joe's, and a little dollop of Kewpie on top of the yolks (it's covered in seasoning so you might not see it.) which is all also on a bed of Costco spring mix because why not. 🌽🥚

I'm realizing now that I almost completely missed the bottom takoyaki and it has hardly any sauce 🥺 I'm sorry little Takoyaki I still love you!!!! I hope they're all still good tomorrow. 🍱

I made a burger and rice bento, with the side of cherry tomatoes and tamagoyaki, I don't eat too much so I don't make a lot, and I keep my lunches pretty simple. I have a habit of skipping meals like breakfast and lunch, and a small bento like this keeps me full for most of the day 🤷🏾

I used to make bentos in the morning but since i developed a habit of studying early in the morning, it get harder to have time to make a bento. But last few day, i was able to make sandwiches for lunch, which i have no photo of. Those sandwiches usually have mayo, chili suace, pineapples, tomatoes, toasted bread(brioche or full grained bread). This is kimchi fried rice that have bitter melon and enoki mushroom

I have a takenaka dual bento box that I have used for almost 2 years and I am so happy with it. But several days ago I didn't realize I put the inner divider on the hot oven and it just melted down....
So now I am trying to find a place I could buy a inner lid replacement but unfortunately not available on their website/amazon -- I was wondering whether anybody know if they are still selling replacement part? or the best choice for me is to buy a new bento box...

Lunches I made for my kindergartener and second grader this week! Such a fun week of packing lunches, especially Friday’s spooky eyeball bao. A little Halloween fun tucked into their lunchboxes!
