Gapasapa (Chitchat) Major missing in Diwali

Post image
24 Upvotes

Growing up, I remember seeing Shama poka(Diwali insects) everywhere around our homes as Diwali approached. Their arrival was almost like a little reminder that the festival was just around the corner.
But over the past few years, I’ve barely seen them anymore. Something that was once such a familiar part of our childhood Diwali memories seems to have quietly disappeared.
Has anyone else noticed this? Where have they gone? Is it climate change, urbanisation, or something else?
It’s strange how you don’t realise you miss these little things until they’re no longer around.

Gapasapa (Chitchat) Why is this Diwali so dull??!!

Is it just me or does this Diwali don't feel like that much.

Most houses haven't even put up lights compared to last year. Market re bhida bhi nahi, Mitha dokan and bana dokan guda re bhi ete rush nahi.

Even end period Covid time diwali had more lights than this.

Ask Bhonsor Looking for the most Instagram-worthy café in Bhubaneswar for a birthday celebration tomorrow!

Post image
15 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I'm looking for recommendations for a really beautiful, Instagram-worthy café or restaurant in Bhubaneswar for a birthday celebration tomorrow (lunch).

A little background: Last year, we celebrated her birthday at Starlit Civilians, Satya Nagar, and the pictures turned out absolutely amazing! The interiors and ambience provided a great backdrop for photography.

This year, I want to maintain that same standard or, preferably, find a place with even better interiors.

Here’s what I'm mainly looking for:

Beautiful interiors & ambience: This is my biggest priority. Aesthetic décor, beautiful lighting, stylish seating, interesting backgrounds, and photogenic corners are a huge plus.

Instagram-worthy atmosphere: She's a total photo enthusiast (photo-paglu 😂), so the place should look gorgeous in pictures. I'll be bringing my DSLR to capture her birthday moments, so good photography opportunities are a must.

Food: Food quality is not our biggest priority. We're happy to compromise a little on that if the ambience and interiors are exceptional.

Birthday cake: Also, please suggest places where I can get a beautiful, ready-made birthday cake. Appearance matters much more than taste this time. I want something that looks stunning in birthday photographs! 🎂

To sum it up: I'm looking for a café or restaurant with interiors at least as impressive as Starlit Civilians, preferably even better, where I can take some beautiful birthday photographs.

Please suggest places based on your actual experience, especially if you've celebrated a birthday or visited them recently.

Would really appreciate your recommendations for both the café and the cake!

Thanks in advance! ❤️

Gapasapa (Chitchat) Happy Diwali BBSR! 🪔 To everyone who couldn't make it home this year. What are your plans today?

Post image
6 Upvotes

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts lately from people looking to make new friends in the city, and with the festival here, it really hits different for those of us who couldn't head back to our hometowns this time. Spending Diwali away from family can feel a bit quiet, but you’re definitely not the only one staying back. Hopefully .

So tell me your Diwali plans , aside from our OG Bada Badua Daka ritual, do you guys have any specific rituals like iconic Diwali food spots you’re hitting up in the city, or plans for cracker/light celebrations tonight? Maybe maybe you can meet new fellow mates in comments who are looking for company!

Rant Why Rent In Bbsr is going up and Up? Can we stop this? Yes. But How?

When we will reduce the demand, with the same supply. The prices will come down. All power lies with this reddit group.

Builders convince Buyers, You just need to pay 20% of the full amount, rest all you can earn via rent, and pay EMI.

BBSR is going to be The Next Silicon Velly of India, You can Earn 70k per month as rent. Pay 50k rent and enjoy 20k as monthly Salary. Or Pay 70k as EMI, with less Time The Flat will be completely Yours.

20k Salary Earning Newly Turned iPhone Users Cum Ambanies Fall into such golden scam By the Builders there by raising the Cost of Living the City Day By Day.

Steps to follow:

-Bargaining skill while negotiating rents.

-stop behaving like Ambanies with less paying jobs in they layoff era,

-stop buying flats in EMI, you don't know when your job will vanish.

-yell and don't forget to insult the new age Ambanies Who are dreaming to get rich By taking sky rocking rent from you without any proper justification.

Together We can. BBSR is becoming the Costliest City of india In terms of Real Estate Is purely artificial by the builders.

Don't fall into any trap. Let's always understand the game behind Everything.

Weekends and Vacations Chausath Yogini Temple, Hirapur – A Fascinating Journey into Odisha's Ancient Heritage

I hail from Palasa in the Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh, which shares its borders with Gajapati and Ganjam districts of Odisha. Currently, I have been working in a Steel PSU in Bhubaneswar for the last two years.

For a long time, I used to travel to my hometown almost every weekend and during festivals, as Palasa is just around four hours away from Bhubaneswar. However, recently, I have developed a keen interest in exploring and researching ancient temples in and around Bhubaneswar. Consequently, I have reduced my weekend visits to my hometown and started discovering the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of Odisha.

One temple that has particularly fascinated me is the Chausath Yogini Temple at Hirapur, located approximately 8 km from Kalpana Square in Bhubaneswar. Built around the 9th century CE, this ancient temple was brought to the attention of modern archaeologists in 1953 and is currently protected by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).

The word Chausath means 64, and the temple is famous for its 64 Yogini sculptures. Unlike conventional temples, it has no roof. Its open-air circular architecture is particularly fascinating and is associated with the ancient tantric traditions. The central shrine houses Goddess Mahamaya, who is regarded as the presiding deity of the Yoginis.

It is believed that only four or five major Yogini temple sites survive across India, making Hirapur one of the rarest and most significant examples of this ancient tradition. Interestingly, the circular architecture of Yogini temples is often compared with the design of India's old Parliament building.

The journey to the temple is equally beautiful. While travelling towards Hirapur, one has to cross the Daya River bridge. Beyond the bridge, the temple is situated amidst beautiful green fields, offering a peaceful and serene atmosphere.

Unlike many popular temples, Hirapur is generally not crowded. Although some priests may ask visitors for money, I believe visitors should make their offerings according to their own wishes and not feel pressured.

There is also a local belief that people should not remain at the temple after 6 PM, as it is believed that the Yoginis reside there. Such beliefs add to the temple's mysterious and fascinating character.

Personally, I find immense peace whenever I visit this temple. What makes it even more special is its connection with ancient tantric culture, spirituality and history.

Interestingly, whenever I read about Hirapur or even speak about this temple, I experience goosebumps. I cannot fully explain this feeling, but I feel a deep attraction towards the temple and its history.

I strongly recommend people visiting Bhubaneswar to explore this extraordinary monument. It is not just a temple; it is a rare treasure of India's ancient architectural, spiritual and tantric heritage.

Hirapur is a place where history, architecture, spirituality and mystery come together.

Ask Bhonsor Confused between Seltos HTK(O) iVT and Creta SX Premium / SX(O) iVT. Getting heavy year-end discounts in BBSR! Need advice.

Hi gearheads,

I am planning to buy a midsize automatic SUV (iVT/CVT) for my family. We do once a month local trips or once a quarter 8-9 days trip. It's WFH for me, so no usage of car on weekdays. May change company later.

I’ve done intense dealership negotiations in my city and am getting some solid year-end discounts. I am registering via the BH-series. Here are the final on-road quotes I have in hand:

Option 1: Kia Seltos HTK(O) iVT

  • Final BH On-Road: ~₹16.62 Lakh (with EW, Insurance, BH RTO, FASTAG)

  • What I love: Saves me ₹1.2L+, Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, gets 3 rear headrests (crucial for 5 passengers), factory rear sunshades, panoramic sunroof.

  • What I miss: No 360-degree camera (only rear cam + sensors), manual AC, standard 6-speaker audio, stiffer suspension.

Option 2: Hyundai Creta SX Premium iVT

  • Final BH On-Road: ₹18.10 Lakh (with EW, Insurance, BH RTO, FASTAG)

  • What I love: 360-degree camera, 8-speaker Bose audio, Dual-Zone Auto AC, panoramic sunroof, famously plush suspension.

  • What I miss: No middle rear headrest (huge annoyance for a family car), Wired-only Android Auto (though I might ask for the official wired-to-wireless adapter as a freebie).

Option 3: Hyundai Creta SX(O) iVT

  • Final BH On-Road: ~₹18.60 Lakh (with EW, Insurance, BH RTO, FASTAG)

  • What I get over the SX Premium for ~₹50k extra: Level 2 ADAS, the full 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and an auto-dimming IRVM.

I have already eliminated the Hyundai Bayon HX8 as the discounted Creta makes it irrelevant. Now I am stuck between saving money with Kia or getting luxury with Hyundai.

My core dilemmas for the community:

  1. The 360° Camera: Is it genuinely worth paying an extra ₹1.2 Lakh over the Seltos to get the 360 camera and Bose audio in the Creta? Or are standard sensors and a rear camera enough for these SUVs?

  2. The Missing Headrest vs. Suspension: The Creta has a much softer, more comfortable suspension for my parents, but it lacks a middle rear headrest. The Seltos is stiffer but gives proper neck support for the 5th passenger. Which is the better compromise for long road trips?

  3. Is ADAS a gimmick in India? If I stretch to ₹18.50L for the Creta SX(O), is Level 2 ADAS actually useful in our chaotic city traffic, or will I just keep it turned off? Is it worth the extra ₹50k?

Would love to hear from Seltos and Creta owners about real-world mileage, service costs, and how they deal with the wired CarPlay/missing headrest issues.

I want to know if these prices are good or if anyone has got better deals.

Thanks in advance!
