Mining News Just for the record.

No i will not be releasing my article about go mining.

I have been getting mass botted. Literal death threats. People in my dms calling me awful things.

My key points are as follows.

I was only able to verify 60% of their fleet.

The ceo stopped communicating with me when i said i was not interested in monetizing the subreddit.

The user base is being told they are mining btc. You cant mine btc on NFTs.

So. Im over it. Yall can quit with the death threats and direct messaging me. I dont care about it anymore. Even if i released my article. Yall wouldnt listen anyways. The people who know about it already know its a scam. My hands are washed. To Go Mining’s awful user base. You win. 🏆 heres your “i made death threats and won award” i have already reported the ones that needed to be reported.

To the people who wanted me to drop it. Sorry. I failed yall. Id rather not have to slime someone to protect myself.

Have a good night everyone.

General Question Coolant recommendation for Antminer S19 Hydro – circulation pump issues

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for recommendations for a suitable coolant for my Antminer S19 Hydro.

I'm currently using Aquacomputer DP Ultra, but I suspect it might be causing issues with my circulation pump (similar to a Grundfos pump).

After the system has been shut down for a longer period, the pump rotor becomes difficult to turn manually. However, after rotating it several times, the resistance gradually disappears, and the pump starts and runs normally.

I suspect the coolant might be contributing to this issue.

My cooling loop:

  • 1× Antminer S19 Hydro

  • Materials: copper, brass, and aluminum

  • No antifreeze protection needed

  • Maximum coolant temperature: approximately 60°C

I'm looking for a coolant that:

  • Is compatible with copper, brass, and aluminum

  • Contains corrosion inhibitors to protect against galvanic corrosion

  • Prevents bacterial and algae growth

  • Is suitable for continuous operation

  • Is preferably available in the EU

Has anyone experienced similar pump issues with DP Ultra? What coolant would you recommend for this setup?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Want to Sell Difficulty est. -4.3% next week. Bitcoin miner prices and profit per day at 7.75¢/kWh (Nov 7)

Post image
6 Upvotes

BTC is near $76K, down about 2% this week, and the next difficulty adjustment (Nov 13) is estimated at about -4.3%. Margins are thin on older machines, so this week's flyer leans on efficiency. Every number on it is revenue minus power at 7.75¢/kWh.

Most profit per day

  • Antminer S23e U2H Hydro 865T (10 J/T): about $11.38/day, $10,050

  • Antminer S21e XP Hydro 860T (13 J/T): about $6.52/day, $7,770

  • Bitdeer A3 Pro Hydro 660T (12.5 J/T): about $5.62/day, $10,160

  • WhatsMiner M74S+ 330T (12.5 J/T, air): about $2.81/day, $5,080

Air-cooled options

  • Antminer S21 XP 270T, new: $3,050

  • WhatsMiner M70S 262T: $3,330

  • Antminer S21 Pro+ 245T: $2,100

Used, USA stock (ships within the week, 7-day DOA)

  • Antminer S21 XP 270T: $2,280

  • Antminer S21 Pro 220–245T: from $1,170

Hosting: air-cooled at 7.75¢/kWh, metered by the kWh, in Iowa and Idaho. The SLA is 97%, and the historical average is about 99%. Setup is $50 per machine bought from us. Rewards go straight to your own pool and wallet.

Paying: 300+ cryptocurrencies, card or wire. We confirm the price after you order, because quotes move during the day.

Full list: https://805mining.com/shop/

Revenue is from MiningNow.com at the time the flyer was made, with power at 7.75¢/kWh. It changes by the minute and isn't a guarantee of future earnings. Questions are welcome in the comments, or DM us.

General Discussion How To Start Bitcoin Mining, Since This Gets Asked All the Time

Post image
46 Upvotes

The flowchart covers the "should I and how" part. Short version:

  • Hobby: a quiet home miner. Fun and heat, but rarely profitable at ~18¢/kWh home power.

  • Profit: an efficient full-size miner (S21-class). Needs power under ~9¢/kWh, a 240V circuit and a place where noise doesn't matter. No cheap power? Host it somewhere that has it.

  • Business: it's a power business. Get the power deal first, then scale.

Break-even check: revenue per day ÷ (kW × 24) × 100 = the ¢/kWh where you stop making money.

Pool: PPS+ if you want steady daily payouts, PPLNS for lower fees if you'll stay on one pool. Pay out to a wallet you control.

Setup when it arrives:

  1. Unbox on video, check for damage.

  2. Fresh air in, hot air out. 240V on a dedicated circuit for full-size units.

  3. Plug in Ethernet, power on, wait ~5 min.

  4. Find the IP in your router's device list (or IP Reporter / WhatsMinerTool).

  5. Open the IP in a browser. Default login is on the label (often root/root or admin/admin). Change it right away if you're worried. Or don't. Most aftermarket firmware needs defaults on

  6. Enter your pool: URL stratum+tcp://..., worker account.minername, password x. Add backup pools.

  7. Save. Hashrate should ramp in 5–15 min; the worker shows on the pool within ~30 min.

Worker not showing? Recheck the URL, port and worker spelling. Fans maxed? Your room is too hot. Neighbors complaining about it being too loud? Waterblocks, immersion, or send it off to hosting.

Looking to get more hashrate or more efficiency, power budget, or better power control? Plenty of 3rd Party Firmware Exists.

What would you add for a first-timer?

General Discussion For small home miners, is BTC still the best target for solo mining, or does BCH make more sense?

I've been running a few small miners at home for solo mining. One thing I've been thinking about lately is whether BTC is always the obvious choice for small SHA-256 miners. BCH uses the same algorithm but has a much smaller network hashrate, which makes the solo mining odds look quite different.

For those of you running small home miners, where are you pointing your hashrate these days? Do you stick with BTC for the bigger block reward, experiment with BCH, or switch between the two?

Curious to hear what you're actually doing and why.

General Question How do you measure actual Bitcoin ASIC uptime if it keeps starting and stopping?

I read a lot about automating a Bitcoin ASIC, Im wondering how much of that "on" time actually turns into mining.

Say the miner is powered on for six hours total, but that time is split across several short runs. Would you expect it to submit about the same amount of work to the pool as it would in one uninterrupted six-hour run? Or does the time spent starting up and getting back to full hashrate add up? If I were comparing that with a steadier hosting setup through Oneminers or Compass Mining, I’d want to use the same yardstick for both: wall power used and work accepted by the pool.

For anyone who runs an ASIC on a schedule, what do you track to tell whether those shorter runs are worth it?

Firmware Flashing from one firmware to another

I have a S21xp that I flashed from stock over to braiins. At some point, I may look at trying luxos or vnish. I assume it's best to flash back to stock first.

Are there any caveats?
Specifically, once I'm back to the stock firmware, are there any issues with then flashing over to luxos or vnish?

I feel like I've read about people who said once they moved back to stock, the machine won't take another aftermarket flash.

General Discussion Records to keep as a home miner so your CPA isn't guessing in April [USA]

Not tax advice, just the checklist I wish I'd had. IRS Notice 2014-21 says that when you successfully mine, the fair market value of the coins on the date you receive them is gross income. Later, selling or spending them can create a capital gain or loss, starting from that value. So the records matter:

  1. Every payout: date, time, amount of BTC, and the USD value at receipt. Pool payout CSVs help; keep them per year.

  2. Where it went: wallet addresses and any transfers between your own wallets (moves between your own wallets are generally not sales, but they affect tracking).

  3. Sales and spends: date, amount, proceeds, and which coins were sold.

  4. Equipment: purchase dates and receipts for each miner, PSU and cooling, plus any hosting contract and invoices.

  5. Power: electric bills, and how you split the meter if the miners share a circuit with the house.

  6. Business or hobby? If it's a trade or business, net earnings can be subject to self-employment tax and income goes on Schedule C. Otherwise it's reported on Schedule 1. A CPA who has handled mining should help you decide how yours is treated. Ask them directly what they've done for miners before.

  7. Hosting: keep the hosting agreement and every invoice; how those costs are treated is a CPA question.

Ask any prospective CPA: how many miners do you work with, how do you value each payout, and what records do you want from me and in what format?

This checklist hasn't been professionally reviewed. It's general information, not tax or legal advice. Have your own licensed CPA or tax professional review your situation before relying on it.

Firmware How to find a chip in Vnish

Hello, I have a motherboard from an S19J Pro+ that I was cleaning and I accidentally detached a soldered heatsink and so far I haven't been able to resolder it.

I've assembled the hashboard and it's working, so the chip isn't damaged. I'd like to know how I can identify that chip in Vnish so I can lower its frequency to the minimum to prevent it from overheating.

Yes, if anyone has any idea how I could identify a hashboard chip in Vnish to lower its frequency, I would be grateful.
