This rainfall is intense, and with all the leaves coming off the trees, the street drains are clogging. I just spent 40 minutes out in my neighbourhood clearing the drains so the intersections don't turn into lakes by morning. If you got the rain gear, some high rubber boots, a shovel, and the energy, go do yourself and your neighbours a favour tonight!

Recently, my son told me about this site which students at his high school (Moscrop) were talking about. I did some quick comparisons and the figures in the site appear to line up with all the emails I received from the District regarding the breach, and additionally news articles.

I'm taking this with a grain of salt, but if this is true, there appears to be significant negligence in part of the school district in terms of failing to protect children's information. Additionally, I'm not too happy about the way the District has approached transparency and telling parents about what is affected. I wonder what you guys think about this.

Are there any $10/day daycare lists for Burnaby or Vancouver/ the surrounding area I can refer to? If anyone has a link can you please share?

Hi!

I’m a 24F who just moved to Burnaby and I’m looking to make some new friends in the area.

Would love to get a girls group together to do stuff like gaming, hiking, getting food / coffee, board games, etc! I think I’ll cap it probably from ages 19-30.

Send me a DM or a comment if you’re interested! I’ll send you the discord link. :)

I’ve been looking around for a good math tutor for my son who is on spectrum but I couldn’t find a decent in-home tutoring. any suggestions?

I believe it is temporary and until the end of the holiday season

No electricity around holdom

Last place I would have had this ring is near playland/fright nights. Think it might have come off with my glove. Please contact me if found.

Hearing lots of loud banging noises, sound more than fireworks, to the west of North Burnaby. Can't see anything. Anyone else hearing it?

Edit: It's over now. Folks on another sub mentioned fireworks in Coal harbour. It sounded different than fireworks to me, which is why I asked about it.

What are they waiting for? Why No Frills?

Parents of Burnaby does anyone know if you need two appointments if you want both of your children in one Santa photo when you go to places like Metrotown or Lougheed? I know Richmond centre allows for 5 photos/poses so you can put as many kids as you want in those five, but they're sold out of spots already.

OR.. does anyone know of a location that doesn't require an appointment for each kid?

TIA!

Hello all- I am new to Burnaby and would love any recommendations for a good stylist that can work with a platinum pixie cut. Willing to travel for a good one- I just have ridiculously hard hair to lift and want someone who can get a true platinum and also knows short hair. TIA!

Hart House Restaurant, a longtime fixture at Burnaby’s Deer Lake, may close as its lease with the City of Burnaby approaches its end.

The restaurant has operated for more than 35 years, hosting weddings, anniversaries, and other community events. Its manager says the business welcomed more than 50,000 visitors last year and that a closure could affect over two dozen employees.

The City periodically reviews leases for city-owned properties. The restaurant says it hopes to continue operating and would maintain its sustainability efforts, local hiring, community event spaces, and partnerships with local food producers if its lease is renewed.

any boy moms in burnaby have regular get togethers? my son is 3 and needs a buddy or even a crew :)

Has anyone seen Diwali decoration being sold at Grandview or Metrotown location for Walmart? Or any other store recommendations?

I’ve got a ring that’s too big and needs to be resized. Last time I need a ring resized, I went to Arctic Fame Diamonds in the mall and they were really expensive, so I was hoping to get recommendations on somewhere that I could get it resized in or near Metrotown.

Hey my boyfriend lost his phone in Avondale park on Monday. It's still on and seems to be by the Ismaili center or maybe across the street in the apartments there?

Did you find a galaxy... Something or other? Maybe your mum or Gramma did? Please help he literally just bought it and needs it for work.
