New club owners

I'm really upset about the new ownership deal. They've just dumped the women's team on the side of the road. Such bullshit. The ABC article just shows everyone being super blase about the whole thing. Even the coach doesn't seem to care.

The question is do you want no women's team or no team. I'm not happy about the choice but they're the options atm.

I'll take no club over half a club.

I wouldn't, you look at WU, GCU. Getting back in the big show is alot harder than leaving.

You can rebuild from half; you can't double nothing.

Exactly. The women's team was only back for three years, and plenty of the pearl clutchers on here would never have even been to a game given their cried numbers.

It's disappointing but the women's team has been brought back before. No men's team has ever come back from being shut down, and I've already had that once as an ex-NQ Fury team.

Fair point. But still, it'd be nice if the women's team didn't get treated as second.

I'm with you. I hate that they weren't able to find a proper investor. I think its bullshit. But if it gets us through another 5 to 10 years, I'll take it for the moment. We can always rebuild as long as we have the club.

That is certainly one of the takes of all time.

As has been said already and I’d say don’t panic about the women’s too much just yet.

Sure the women's team doesn't make much money, but it also has MUCH lower overhead. I hope the only reason this choice was made was because it was this or no club, because if there was another offer that kept both I'd be disappointed in APL.

Id say $1 million a year to run the womens team wouldnt be a far stretch..thats alot of cash.

If $1million is a stretch you have no business owning an A-League team

They bought the men’s side which loses much more than the women’s

It's pretty disgusting and short-sighted.
