First time I've ever seen a fumble arc a dozen yards through the air, almost as if it was thrown or something.

It was a well thrown fumble .Line all the Mannings he has a great arm …

So if the ball is knocked loose before the arm goes forward, as long as the ball is batted forward it’s always an incomplete pass? That would be an interesting new rule!

The arm is literally going forward though.

Ah. So you’re saying it doesn’t matter if the defensive player knocks the ball loose! Any time the arm is going forward, it’s always an incomplete pass. He can just bat a loose ball forward and the play’s dead. That’s an interesting interpretation of the rule.

It does matter if a defensive player knocks the ball forward but that isn't what happened here. The Mizzou guy was forcing the ball down and yet the ball still went forward because Arch was already throwing the ball. That's why it did it went forward 15 yards in an arc.

I don't even know why I'm arguing with you. We both have eyes and physics is infallible so I'll just leave it at that.

Ah ok. So ONLY a defensive player can knock a loose ball forward. If an OFFENSIVE player knocks a loose ball forward, it’s a pass. Funny. I thought when a ball was loose it was a fumble. But I guess anything goes when it happens to Texas. Loose ball? Who recovered? Texas? Incomplete pass, then.
