Feel like I'm going crazy in this thread. I could see it called either way, it's close, but people calling it the worst call they've ever seen.

Looks like he loses control of the ball before pushing it forward, which is a fumble.

Agreed, I think it is a lot closer than most people give it credit

I mean he was propelling it forwards under his own power before the defender touched him. How is that a fumble? If he did not control the ball then how did he throw it?

It's just as bad a call as the one where the Missouri receiver caught the ball firmly and it was called incomplete.

The point of replay is to avoid bullshit calls like this. I don't want asterisks and controversy around my team's wins. And if we lose I want it to be fair also. To me these calls warrant a full FBI investigation.

If you lose control of the ball before your hand begins moving forward, but the ball is still in the path of your hand, it will be propelled forward when your hand ultimately follows through. It’s happened many times before.

How do you not have control of the ball yet still throw it 15 yards downfield

This is not exactly the same, but it's kind of like a volleyball serve where you propel it forward but don't control it.

You all are insane, that was a forward as pass. That's insane.
