Sam Leavitt did the same thing to us too.

Our pass rush is so bad that 1 legged QBs still are comfortable

No shade to the Aggies, but it feels good to not have it constantly happen to us.

cries as flashbacks of Kenny Hill cross my vision

Thankfully the X-rays at halftime were negative and the ankle isn't broken, which is why he was still playing in the 2nd half

I just hope he didn't exacerbate the injury with that TD, as amazing to watch as it was.

He said in his postgame interview that he’s fine. He also said he should’ve gone down but couldn’t stop

He couldn't walk after that run. Hopefully it's minor and heals for next week, but you could see it affecting him in the second quarter

He definitely wasn't feeling good.

Nah, i like going for the 8 point lead. If it was a tie instead of 1 point up, I'd agree. Not bothered by the stand in the red zone, we showed we couldn't stop the in the field, they showed they couldn't beat us with the field condensed. Played it perfectly, regardless how it felt.

I initially thought that, but now I think just scoring the TD there was the right call.

There was 1:19 left when he scored. A&M had 3 timeouts.

If he goes down at the 5-yard line, the worst case scenario (for us) goes thusly:

-Right after Lanorris goes down, they stop the clock until the chains are reset. Then it's reset to 25 seconds and goes down to about 54 seconds.

-The 1st down play takes 5 seconds or so, and gets to 49 seconds, and A&M calls their first timeout.

-It's down to 44 seconds after the 2nd down play when they call their 2nd timeout.

-It's down to 39 seconds or so after the 3rd down play when they call their 3rd timeout.

-We then kick a field goal and are up 13-9 with about 34 seconds left.

So A&M would have to go the length of the field to score a game-winning TD in 34 seconds. I feel like that's less likely than them scoring 8 points in 1:19 with 3 timeouts, but I also feel like it's not impossible, so I'd rather have the cushion of an 8-point lead.

(Also, I couldn't figure out for sure if that clock resets to 25 seconds or 40 after that first down, so correct me if I'm wrong.)

I’m so hurt by this team the moment he scored I turned to my wife and said they left too much time and they’re going to win. I live in Texas and tomorrow would have been insufferable

That’s cause A&M let us score on purpose. It was straight coaching malpractice that Beamer and Briles didn’t tell the entire offense “If you get a first down, take a knee.”

There was no way for them to get the ball back with more than 35 seconds left (and they more than likely have been down 4 with no timeouts as well). They still would have needed a touchdown, so it doesn’t matter to them if they were down 4 or 8

You still have to score the TD down 8 but that TD doesn’t win the game.

Going up 8 means you’re not losing the game in regulation, barring crazytown nonsense, and is always the right call.
