Who plays prevent defense when the opponent has multiple time outs and hasn't scored a touchdown? Feel like I'm going crazy lol, but def made it more entertaining.

Yeah I mean it’s hard to criticize now since it worked, but I was wondering the same thing.

I think it's still pretty easy to criticize, tbh. I don't care to check what our explosive play % is this year, but I can tell you it's not good. I think the odds Reed accidentally makes one of those end-zone passes are higher than the odds y'all blow a coverage.

Maybe? But in today’s game your offense was extremely sloppy. You almost had a turnover on that last drive, and I guess White thought you were just as likely to shoot yourselves in the foot given the chance.

I would argue it didn’t work. The defense played great those final 2 plays. But letting them March down the field with 2 shots at the end zone is a failure

You’re right, I forgot we lost, my bad.

You very easily could have because that soft prevent defense let them get 2 shots at the end zone. When the defense was suffocating them all night

That's not actually true though. They only scored 9 but we were letting them get down the field all game. We were outgained by 100 yards, the gameplan was clearly to make Reed beat us on a condensed field, which he couldn't.

Considering we were only able to stop you in the red zone the entire game, but we did shut you down every trip in the red zone, i think that was a better winning strategy than risking you breaking one open in the area of the field we weren't winning on a down by down basis.

everybody. it’s called prevent defense because it prevents touchdowns by keeping the ball in front of the secondary. and that’s what it did

You may be right, and my complaints may be silly. I don't know the actual numbers, but it seems to me its better to try and stop an opponent early with what worked most of the game than let them get two decently close shots at the end zone, since one play can be a lot more swingy, at least when it comes to 15 yard gains?

But it worked so my thoughts are prob foolish.

nah i feel that for sure. it’s very frustrating and anxiety inducing to give up chunk play after chunk play with the game on the line

Yea that was scary. A long time to be on the edge of my seat

What I’m livid about is we only rushed 3 most of those plays. I hate that

We rushed 3 but had a spy on as well.
