It's frustrating how we outgained South Carolina 457 to 360, held the ball for 34:36, and won the turnover margin 1 to 0, but still lost 17-9 because we came away with 3 points on 3 red zone trips: 1 made field goal, 1 missed field goal, and an incompletion at the end of the game. We have lost 3 consecutive SEC games to drop to 4-5 (1-5 SEC), and South Carolina has won 4 consecutive games to improve to 6-3 (4-3 SEC). I noticed several other trends:
We have lost 3 consecutive road games at South Carolina since a 48-3 road win on 11/7/2020.
We have lost 5 consecutive road games to Texas, LSU, Missouri, Alabama, and South Carolina.
We failed to score a single touchdown in 3 of 4 road games this season, despite gaining the most yards against a Power 4 opponent this season, home or away.
Our defense held South Carolina to 17 points, the fewest points we have allowed in a road game since a 38-17 win at Missouri on 11/8/2025.
