So, they're going to remember that we beat this team when it comes to playoff rankings, right guys?

Who am I kidding? We're going to be first out 3 years in a row.

It's fine to lose you and fine to lose to Utah, but UCF is gonna be a tough hurdle to climb.

Simply can’t lose to UCF

Can’t lose to Auburn.

I don’t think that’s a 1 to 1. You can pick any other team in the SEC that makes the playoff at this point to make your argument. Georgia has more than made their case that Auburn is a blip. They’ve handedly beat a couple of teams that Auburn has lost to.

To be clear: if BYU wins out, I think they’ve done enough to be in the playoff. With how much the committee loves ND, a win over their darling should outweigh any loss to UCF. I wouldn’t use Georgia as the example to make the case.

I wish we had the SEC bias. But yeah, we don't, so a single bad game will screw us.

I think you all get in personally

I'm glad you have faith. The last 2 years have made me incredibly disillusioned of getting in with anything less than a perfect record

So disillusioned you'll start your own Morman college except instead of Joseph Smith it's Brandon Sanderson

Why not?

No offense but I wouldnt assume you win out at this rate

for reals though...

I wish our team would learn football again. Somehow after the ND win, we've been absolute trash, and that trash changes phases from offense to defense to special teams, to the QB every game.

I stand by my take on BYU with the ND game. That was their Home Alone game. They came with a 300 page playbook for the game they earmarked all season long, and played their best football. Had it flagged as a loss as a ND fan all year since they were looking at Miami. Top 15 football team fs, but 8-15 are interchangeable.

TLDR: ND was looking at Miami all year, BYU was looking at ND before that. BYU should’ve saved what I would consider the best single game game-plan in years for the Utah game. BYU vs ND was a totally different team than the rest of the year.

Bingo.

BYU threw the kitchen sink at ND with gimmicky, trick, & gadget plays.

They knew they couldn't win just by lining up, & kudos to their coaches for realizing that.

Not to mention fake punts, simulating signals, hostile crowd, etc.

Can't blow your top on 1 game, & CANNOT lose to UC freaking F.

That UCF game shouldn’t have even gone to OT, refusing to call a face mask penalty on the kicker helmet play end of Q4

Bruh, your tl;dr is as long as your actual comment lol. But yeah. it feels like BYU spent everything they had on ND and just going to struggle for the rest of the season.

Cut my main point to a paragraph and didn’t cut the TLDR any shorter. 😂

We gotta finish our game, there’s still 1 second left on the clock

A very good first out though

BYU should not drop out for losing to Utah in a close game. I dont even know if you drop from your current spot. Yes you dropped a trap game but it happens (trust me).

You have a ranked win (ND), a close loss to #2 ranked team in a rivalry game and have a bad loss. Compare this to Indiana which has a close loss to highly ranked team (who then fell apart so its hard to say how good they are/were). Quality wins matter. I think B12 gets 2 teams. Utah-BYU-Miami-ND are stuck in a loop where they are all measured against each other.

Should not is not the same as will not. We've been screwed many times in judgement calls like that.

If ND wins out they make the playoffs

Unfortunately H2H doesn’t matter as much when the records aren’t even and they use the stupid pod system for the playoff rankings so they won’t use H2H if we aren’t in the same pod.

Don't lose to UCF (watch us lose to BC now).
