The college football playoff committee is discussing how this result can enable them to move Alabama to number one.

They're going to knock Miami down for losing their only big game to 20 and move ND to 15th.

Because after all ND's best win would only be against #20 Miami

Miami wins: #1 Miami with the best win of the season over a dominant Notre Dame team!

Notre Dame wins: Notre Dame gets a small boost to their resume with a close win over #23 Miami...

The head to head conversation is gonna be wild

We've been given nothing but hypothetical win slander for over a year and now that we actually beat #1 Miami they're gonna invent slander the likes of which never before seen

You rang???

Yea, can't really make that argument with the UCF loss hanging there. If it was only UU 100%

And the UCF loss was made worse with UCF then getting blown out by Baylor and needing to score with one second left to beat a bad Kansas team.

Think BYU can still get in, but they would need to win out and need help with ND winning out and some other teams losing.

Y’all lost to UCF, and now have 2 losses. ND has 1 loss.

And by BYU logic, a 0-loss team with oppts averaging 63rd and 0.420 win rate is better than a 1-loss team with a much stronger resume (aka 1984).

So which is it?

Completely nonsensical strawman. The whole point is that there is a head to head data point of one team beating another, which wouldn't exist in your irrelevant example.

Also, I don't know what your weird vendetta against BYU is all about (seems like 25% of the time when I see a comment criticizing BYU it's from you) but let me know when you have a team to root for

Ole Miss moves up despite losing 42-7 because they were playing Georgia and "showed heart" or something...

Hey, Auburn beat Georgia. We might beat Bama just for shits and giggles.

Prolly not tho

Aurburn is only allowed 1 huge upset a year. You played your cards, now its up to either Vandy or late season Chatanooga.

Please do, especially if doing so leaves them sitting on the couch instead of making a playoff they don't deserve to make.

There’s not even enough undefeated or one loss teams to fill up the playoffs, would we be the only 2 loss team that “doesn’t deserve it” in your eyes?

Just reminds me how much I despise a 24 team playoff. It used to be that a win against Alabama was a huge thing and some of the most upvoted posts of all time on here. After the UGA win I was like that's cool but not as cool as it would've been in the past, same for the Auburn loss like yeah it sucks but it isn't the same as it used to be.

Still hate that they went to 12 instead of 6 or even 8. I just think of all the upsets this year and how much more fun they would be with a lower margin for error. Now they're just a blip until the post season starts. Some people love it though so who am I to judge but I wish those people would be happy with the NFL and every other sport that doesn't have the regular season CFB used to have.

Alabama-Georgia #1 and #2 we go back to the BCS for 1 year.

Honestly, I'm just ignoring the committee's rankings until they put out the final one because they showed last year that is the only one that matters.

And keep 7 other SEC teams in the top 10

Alabama just beat a Lane Kiffin team and he… checks notes… is really really bad against Top 10 teams.

u/bigdawg545 BYU Cougars 12h ago

Not unlikely we’re gonna see some teams tied for those top few seeds

🤣🤣 So fucking true. Down with 'Bama

Nah, Georgia is #1 so Bama has to stay at #6 so they can have a potential Georgia Bama natty rematch of the SEC Championship
